Wonder how long it'll take before we become this horrific urban legend among Meguca. I mean, I know we're kinda lready there what with our territory being this black hole of no one goes in and returns, but still... with all our new socializing and the news meguca spreading the word on top of our stomping on the little war earlier, I'm sure the SV girl has got to get some sort of reputation going soon.

As to the 'Elder Puella Magica' thing... where did anyone state they do not exist?
I think they would be a) ruthless B) hopelessly paranoid c) very vew inbetween.
We know from Nadia there's a meguca called Catherine Hamilton in America, who's fifty three years old. Probably the oldest meguca in the world.

EDIT: By the way, we're totally keeping this Ribbon. With some practice, we'll be able to randomly send Mami hugs any time we want. :p

QB being able to casually observe nanoscale structures from a distance adds quite a bit of weight to the "essentially omniscient" assumption we've been working with.
On top of this, we've just empirically verified that he does, in fact, teleport, and that teleportation into our cloud doesn't induce telefragging (which is good for Sakura).

EDIT: We might want to verify this, actually, while we're in transit: Kyubey has no appreciably vital organs, so he really wouldn't mind being peppered by thousands of teeny tiny holes. Human physiology might find this somewhat less agreeable, lichdom aside.

We don't actually know if this is physical age or chronological age; since Nadia had to look at her birth certificate, it's probable that she's lichbombed and thus possible that she still looks 13.

"Well, uh," you twiddle your fingers. "Uh... if you're alright with it, maybe we could try the experiment again later today? If you don't mind? I'm... hopeful about extending my range, with your help."

"Um- I'd be happy too!" Mami says, and you can feel the radiant smile from all the way over here.
"That was a deeply disturbing intrusion into my innermost self."
"Wanna do it again later?"
"Sure!"

"So, Kyuubey," you say. "Something you mentioned earlier struck me. Can magical girls die of biological old age? And we can heal telomere damage and other age-related problems?"

"Yes, to both," Kyuubey says. "It is possible for it to never occur to a magical girl that the damage of time can be healed."
Well, unless they can grow old without growing, that enables meguca to let themselves age to a convenient point and then stop if desired, so they don't have to spend 30 years as an adorable 12 year old unless they want to. Although I suppose that was already given with Catherine?
Does at least make a long term relationship with a normal person more viable if they manage to fit in Seed-acquiring activities around it.
Can 'healing' undo bodily development if the meguca in question defines it as something unwanted?
"Thought I said not before nine."

You arch an eyebrow and point at the digital clock on the dresser, displaying the time prominently at nine twenty two.

Kyouko scowls at you and digs into the food.
"I wake up after nine. Therefore, if I'm not awake, it's not yet nine."
They're both clean, ish, but they don't have any Grief Seeds to spare, either.
Payment is definitely going to have to include a clear seed or regular cleansings. Well, they're close enough that we can just visit for 5 minutes a day if need be.
"turn right in 500 Meters"
"Turn Left in 1.6 Kiliometers"
"Stop here for a Contract Break."
"Turn around and stop despairing in 400 Meters"
"Destination has Witched, Recalculating"
"This is Alaska"
"You said you were fine with a detour to help magical girls."

We offered a clear seed last time. Kyouko turned it down.
We could ask her to reconsider.

Though, short of telling her 'Grief Seeds are people'...

Maybe we can give her the deal we had first given the Sendai groups?

... Actually, we'd need more Seeds for that.

Argh... How long has it been since we offered Kyouko a Clean Seed? Maybe she'd be more amenable to it simply due to time having passed and us basically hiring her for a job?

So can we ask again about her taking a Clean Seed, after we discuss everything else?

She knows about the offer. We don't need to repeat it every other day.

I don't know how long has passed. I think people are more amenable to accept something they've refused in the past, if asked again after a while.

Some sort of psychology stuff.

If it hasn't been long since we offered, then no, don't ask, I guess.

Kyouko had two Seeds last time we saw her, and she knows that we'll clean Seeds for reuse upon request. Has she somehow managed to burn through both seeds in just a couple days? And didn't bother calling us to refresh them? That seems... wasteful.

What the hell happened?

I'd recommend not backing down on the "Cleansings/Clear Seeds are free" position. Reiterate that that offer is still open, but do so prior to discussing payment, as a seperate topic.

As for the payment itself... skilled professional payrates? 80+ USD an hour, minimum? Assuming three two hour sessions a week, that comes out to around 55000¥ a week.

We should make an initial offer in that ballpark. By making the initial offer instead of letting her choose a price, we make it feel less like charity. If she trys to say it's too much, we can explain the logic, and if she haggles upwards, it'll feel like even less of a handout.

Note that if she haggles upward, actually haggle, otherwise she'll go back to thinking it's charity.

o_O That's $166K+ per year. What exactly is your definition of a "skilled professional"?

A skilled craftsman, someone who actually works with their hands, makes an average of about $65K/year.

Also need to consider cost of living adjustment for Japan.

So propose we actually PAY Kyouko for teaching Sayaka? Alas we don't have a spare house... unless we want to set Warehouse-Kun up with beds and shit so they can stop living in stolen hotel rooms.

Phase 0 of Warehouse-Kun Hostel (?)

Top global talents. Kyouko is probably in the global top 50 list for most skilled melee combatants - top 10 if one disregards melee skill based wishes.

If we wanted to find an alternative tutor of equivalent skill, we'd need to look fairly far afield indeed.

Mainly because the US economy is distorted against that sort of work right now. It's tied in with real-wages being stagnant for most of the American workforce since the 1970s. Redshirt Army is proposing actual fair pay for a skilled professional, rather than distorting downward for some professions and upward (far upward) for others.

Also, she will not be putting in 8 hours a day, so...

If you're paying both income and self-employment taxes that can rack up a lot faster than you'd think, although I agree that $80 an hour is a bit high for most 40-hour a week professions. If you're talking people who work intermittently, or as consultants, though, $80 an hour is somewhat reasonable. Depends a lot on where you live, too: on the coasts salaries are higher, but cost of living is almost double what you pay living further inland, and Kasamino/Mitakihara is on the coast.
