Fucking hell, you're right. After all, Wraiths are the Universe's enforcers, essentially. Wishes seem to interface with said universe directly.

If her Wish needed to produce a physical agent to carry out her will...the Universe would be the one providing said agent. That is, it'd produce a Wraith or Wraith-like entity to do the job. Sabrina appeared from nowhere.

Why we were wounded is harder to guess, but if Walpurgisnacht WAS used as an ingredient...

Wait. Wait. Memories...they're linked to memories.

Body. Mind. Soul.
Wraith. SV. Walpurgisnacht.

As hilarious as the idea would be, I can't really truck properly with a Wraith theory, yet. There's some problems. First of all, the most human Wraith we ever got only appeared as such to Homura, and despite being sympathetic was still part of the Wraith hivemind and still thought like one. Prime Directive and whatnot, i do not understand humans, bluh bluh.

Secondly, Wraiths are the Universe trying to counter the supremacy of human emotion over physics. Sabrina's goals are essentially the opposite, as she's trying to kick Karmic Destiny in the taint.

Thirdly, and probably the most damning, she wasn't able to do any of her griefy shit that is being used to compare her to a Wraith until she made a wish.

So if I had to make an addendum to the theory, Sabrina is Walpurgisnacht dewitched, and her Grief Control wish doesn't just give her witch-y abilities, but through implication give her Wraith-y ones, as she's essentially functioning similar to a Wraith. This might explain the "hilarious bootstrapping process" our wish invokes. We essentially wished to emulate the cosmic balancing system that governs hope and despair.

We might be a witch-turned-human that essentially wished to be a Wraith hybrid, allegorically.

And episode 12 is enough for Firn to base all of that off of, really. The rest is just details he could've easily retconned back in.

... The universe hates wishes, so why exactly would it provide for a wish when the wish is clearly powerful enough to do all the work?
Not saying it did it by choice. What I'm saying is that Wishes work by forcing the universe to do things against its nature. The action is determined by the Wish-maker, but the precise mechanism is decided by the universe that the Wish is altering/controlling.

Madoka's original Wish didn't make her an independent entity, it made her a law of the universe. That was the way it saw to fulfill that Wish.

In theory, this Wish would be one that required a living agent be created. The universe, compelled to grant the Wish, has to figure out how. Creating a Wraith-like being to fill the role of "Sabrina" would be the natural choice.

Madoka's original Wish didn't make her an independent entity
Really her original wish rezzed a cat, she didn't became a law of the universe at that moment.
And when she (madoka) became a law of the universe, (said universe) clearly got broken, which kinda didn't happen this time around considering that Homura seem's to be allow to see the results of Madoka's wish's (canon) likely due to being the reason of enabling Madoka to make the wishes in the first place.

Um...do you mind rewriting this?

...I still have no idea what point you're trying to make here, but I'm pretty sure higure's "Original Wish" is referring to the Madokami wish, when read in context.

The universe also was not broken by Madokami. It...it literally adjusted just fine. People are still living in it and if not for Rebellion, the status quo would have gone on stably forever.

I guess we could say… Akuma Homura did everything wrong.

[X] Lean over, kiss her on the cheek again. Beam. "Let's."
-[X] Hesitate. Mami, wings or platform? Cleanse because it's been a while.
-[X] Compliment Mami on stealing a march on you with this date. You enjoyed it a lot... And, um, homework allowing, maybe a movie before bed?
[X] Homework.
-[X] Meanwhile: look up a map, ensure you have flight directions to Asunaro, give geopolitics a glance. Look up planned Mitakihara industrial revitalization.
--[X]Ask Mami for a ribbon. Examine properties of ribbon. See if you can push magic through it.
--[X] If no earth-shaking discoveries, practice enchantment, especially naturally intuitive "wish magic" enchantment.
--[X] Telepathy Kyouko, confirm that training is happening, arrange to meet her in the morning in person to discuss payment/scheduling/whatever.
[X] Screen Kimi no Na wa via grief.

[Do this in the morning] Discuss how Mami wants to handle an influx of girls, now that Nadia is spreading the news. You were thinking of using the warehouse hideout Oriko furnished as housing for the Shiogama refugees, for example.

I would agree with this idea if Kimi no Na wa didn't come out on Blue-Ray on the 26th this month. Some people here may not have seen it yet, so maybe we could watch another movie instead.

Anyone know of movies of similar or superior quality to Your Name?

I don't like the idea. We're actually going to be quite busy tonight, and I'd like to avoid making future media references on principle.

That said, I'm not opposed to doing a more general movie night at Mami's sleepover for the visiting Pliades tommorow.

150 math problems, 10,000 word essay on Ancient Sumerian Music, blueprinting for her trebuchet project, and reading 1984 by George Orwell.

It's horrible. Especially 1984. God Awful.

[Q] Hug Mami closely.
-[Q] Softly kiss Mami on the cheek.
--[Q] Whisper to Mami's ear:
---[Q] "That was the best update ever."

We really need to ask Oriko how she arranged that. Even with her family's money, she's not old enough to purchase a building and I doubt she installed the furnishings herself. We should find out if whatever intermediary she used could do the same thing for us.
