Sayaka you complete and utter boss. Figuring out how to store a copy of someone's magic in such a short time? Sniff She making us so proud.

Now the question is, can someone else use it?

We'll take Nadia to Sendai at least, so that's good, but why did we tell Homura that Nadia's leaving this evening then? Or are we taking her back again once we're done there?

Sayaka being able to store the powers she copies is pretty damn useful. Now we have to see if there's a limit of how many powers she can store.

Also seven magical girls on the roof means that the independent magical girl isn't here. Did they not tell her we're coming?

Well, I'm glad the Grief Deletion didn't work. It's one of the better scenarios for that experiment.

And absolutely we need to give Sayaka a big pat on the back. Did we even bring that up? I know we wanted to have her check for a way to store powers, but if we didn't tell her than it's another example of Sayaka having way more initiative than we give her credit for.

@mistfist : Oh hell yes we need to check that once we have time for Science. I still think we should stick to Social for the duration of the trip, but if Sayaka can copy and just hand out powers, that would make the most sizable powerhouse on the team. And probably means Homu will NEVER EVER EVER let her copy her time powers.

I think there's also an implication that any Grief-bending ring will fail there too - If it were possible, us making the trinket would be basically the same as Sayaka making the trinket, yeah? Still worth looking into, but I wouldn't plan on it being a thing we'll have eventually.

I mean the whole plan rests on "device to do one pre-programmed thing with grief" being substantively different from "device to allow people direct access to grief control power" since everyone's broadly in the agreement that the latter is too dangerous to hand out.

Yeah, this trip is all social, no arguments there. But there are so many things that can come from this. If she copies from Mami again, does the trinket stay? Can sayaka just have hundreds of stored Mami-powers in her bag?

If so, and they're not usable by anyone else, is that evidence that the copied powers can run out or power?

We don't know, but it's exciting to think about.

That's interesting and very, very usefu-

You twitch in surprise at the touch of Mami's warm finger on your earlobe. You glance at her, and she pokes curiously your earlobe again.

"Your ears," she say, as if that's all the explanation she needs to provide. She tugs on the shell of your ear curiously, apparently intrigued by how far it sticks out.
Gah, MamiBrina is adorable.

Fuck yeah Sayaka. ^__^

Wait, wait, wait. Does this mean Sayaka gets more than just combat powers, but also the girl's secondary beneficial magic? Because this sounds a lot like 'Connections' at work.

That is definitely something to test.

Plan:

- Look at Mami. Convey plan to Mami with just a look.
- Move so we're sitting on Sayaka's other side; Mami shifts so she's closer to Sayaka.
- MamiBrina DOUBLE HUG the Sayaka.
- Squee.

Sayaka did something interesting, true, but let's not get too carried away.

Quite to the contrary, let's get very carried away. Hypothesis: part of Sayaka's powerset is an aptitude for enchantment, speciaized or otherwise. Compare to Kirika or us: this speed is abnormal. And without the ability to store these things her powerset is suspect anyways.

And, of course, it fits nicely with her wish to be useful.

Please do not quote this post. Thank you.

Mami beams at you, linking her arm with yours.

"We are," Mami agrees, cuddling your arm with both hands. "Shall we?"

You take a seat on a convenient piece of venting. Mami curls up against your side with a pleased noise, tucking her head against your shoulder.

"Your ears," she say, as if that's all the explanation she needs to provide. She tugs on the shell of your ear curiously, apparently intrigued by how far it sticks out.

"We will, Homura," you say, suppressing giggles as Mami reaches around you to toy with your other ear. "You too."

"Um, stay safe!" Madoka says as the call ends.

You smile at Mami, pulling her a little closer with an arm around her waist, and she's perfectly content to cuddle against you.

You sit crosslegged with Mami on your left and Sayaka on your right, though rather unlike Mami, your blue-haired friend isn't leaning against your side. You all snack companionably on the curry rice, though Sayaka goes through hers rather quickly.

You do earn a look of fond exasperation from Mami, though, who's wrapped her arms firmly around your waist so that she can tuck her chin on your shoulder.

I know it's been going on for many updates now, but good god are they in the "can't keep their hands off each other" stage of a relationship.

I am rather looking forward to seeing Sabrina + Mami interact with Kyoko together. Kyoko is crude and forward enough that there's no way she's not going to comment on what she sees going on in front of her. I'll be interested to see if she can make Mami blush, or if Mami is so into it that she doesn't even care about crude remarks directed her way and is incapable of being embarrassed.

Caught up - yay. Also picturing one of the girls looking like a signal man on a ship guiding down a helo.

@Kaizuki
Fine, I'll just tag you instead. I've already agreed with the general thread consensus that what Sayaka accomplished is interesting/useful. That being said, I easily can see posters getting over-hyped about her powers and start speculating about things that are beyond her Potential.

Just got free time to read this.

You managed to store your copy of my magic?"

"Yup and yup!" Sayaka says proudly. "Cool, eh?"

Holy shit, Blueberry.

You're not absolutely certain, but you don't think Sayaka's Soul Gem is filling any faster than it had when she'd had only Mami's ribbon powers. Perhaps the difference is so small you don't notice it, or perhaps you're remembering wrong, but you don't think so.

HOLY SHIT, BLUEBERRY.

One flat upkeep for any number of powers plus power storage? That's... really, really, really good. Take her to meet Yuma and store that power, and she's basically a strict upgrade to vanilla blueberry.

Flat cost for multiple powers, plus power storage, is fucking broke. Enough that I'm starting to wonder if she got a potential bump because she's not doomed to die any more and will continue influencing us and the rest of the canon cast into the future.

We need to ask the Ishinomaki girls to make a donation to the Sayaka Skillz Foundation.

And ask them if they can call over that independent meguca that also lives here.

Sayaka's still waiting for the food, so you take the opportunity to call ahead to Ishinomaki - you get Inoue Yuuki, the tech-focused girl, and you let her know you're heading over.
I don't suppose she said if she got any results on that phone trace we asked for yesterday?

Well, I'm glad the Grief Deletion didn't work. It's one of the better scenarios for that experiment.
It's the result I was expecting, honestly.

I'm impressed with Sayaka's foresight in making an enchantment to stored copied powers without any prompting from us. It's also another example of a meguca with no prior experience being particularly successful at making an enchantment related to her signature power....

That... That wasn't the point, Landcollector. The point was "don't involve me in the discussion of this in a way that sends alerts to me, please." I didn't mean my quoting you to be the start of a talk, I really just felt that it was a good way to start a post that basically went "well, I think there's more to this than we're seeing." I apologize if it seemed like I was arguing with you or anything of the sort. I may not currently be threadbanned but I would prefer to mostly act as if I was, so that I do not have to request that I actually be. Thank you and please have a nice day.
