...I just realized that Homura is literally and unironically a serial killer.
Like, I know we take the piss out of "Murderface" all the time, so I'm not sure how it took it so long to hit my conscious brain, but we're talking actual cold-blooded first-degree murder.
I'm not sure how to feel about this.
IMO, a better description would be something like "child soldier with PTSD".

[Kyuubey has been banned from Mitakihara]
[Kyuubey has a restraining order of 500m from the Mitakihara 5]
Sabrina: I…didn't expect that to work.
[I don't understa--]
Sabrina's arm reflexively swings.
[Kyuubey has been blocked]
Homura: Good.
I see Sabrina holding the hammer on her hands and looking at it in wonder.

"So... much... power..." whispers the girl, with stars on her eyes.

Then, slowly, reverently, she hugs the hammer.

Just remembered, might want to ask if there are any girls with magically binding contract/oath powers. Among other reasons to look for one, it might help get O&K out of Homura's 'Threat' category, which may in turn keep them safe from Feathers. There are other ways to go about it, of course, and other reasons to try to pick one up, I'm just spitballing a bit.
The inverse might also be useful, an Oathbreaker. A girl whose powers are based around severing connections.

A girl who can separate a streetlight from the ground, separate the components of chemical compounds, annul the Contract between a Girl and an Incubator.

Um...you realize the idea of Homura killing Oriko every loop and whatnot is fanon that's not canon to PMAS, right? As far as PMAS connections, funny memes and dark jokes aside, Homura's only kill list seems to be a single Madoka, a single Oriko, and any other time the loops have hard-pressed her into forcing her hand.

But it's never easy. She never got comfortable with murder. Every time she points a gun at a human face, she's going to see Madoka's.

It is canon to PMAS, actually.
You cock your head, reminded of something. "Speaking of which. Why isn't Oriko dead? I figured you'd kill her after... what she did."

"I did, for a while. But I noticed, a few loops later, that I didn't have to waste my time on it; she would simply never contract by herself. I'm not sure why she and Kirika contracted that once, but I just stopped bothering," Homura says. "It was-"

"-an anomaly," you finish. "And you've never seen her contract again?"

"Not until this loop," Homura confirms.

"Strange," you comment. Very strange indeed.

BTW, we can come back to this discussion when we tell Homura that Oriko has Contracted a few other times.

Ah right. Well, point is, she's not comfortable with it. It doesn't drive her behavior with anticipation, so calling her a serial killer is still driving the professional in me up the wall.

So what with the Important Talks we need to have with Homu, I propose we carefully inform her of such and allow her to have these Talks at her own time in this manner:

- Have a private moment with Homura.
- Ask for timestop.
- Once in timestop, say: "There's a few things I need to talk with you, and they're all very important."
- Use Grief to create:
-- Floating text, that reads: "There's a few things I need to talk with you, and they're all very important."
-- Under that floating text, a small floating wheel in front of us, facing Homura, divided in four with the options:

A - Madoka needs to learn about the loops.
B - Oriko is not always evil.
D - Just hug Sabrina (postpone conversation).
C - Kyuubey is holding a big secret as a sword over your head.
- Wait very, very patiently until Homura chooses one of the options. Smile.

Why would Homura not choose option C?

It's by far the easiest, followed by "Madoka needs to learn about the loops" and "Oriko is not always evil".

D is just impossible.

Homura: "I should go."

At least it's not using an infinite damage loop to pass an arbitrarily high DC Knowledge check, and then preventing it from killing you by dunking your head in a bucket of water and taking a deep breath.

The bucket trick is my single favorite piece of broken rules from that edition of the game. You can see exactly the thought process that led to it being overlooked.

Could somebody explain this please? or link me to an explanation?

Since the relevant bit is waaaaay at the bottom of that, let me summarize: Drowning, in D&D 3.5, doesn't kill you immediately. Instead, it sets your HP to zero so you're incapacitated, and then you have a timer until you drown. Sounds reasonable, yeah? Except that it sets your health to zero. So what you do is you cast the spell that gives you a +1 on everything for one round per 50 points of damage you take, cast the spell that lets you survive for one round no matter how damaged you are, and then set up an infinite damage loop to deal infinite damage to yourself. So you take infinite damage, you gain one round of action at +infinity to everything, and then stick your head in a bucket of water and intentionally drown. Your health is set to zero and you walk away having used a single +infinite diplomacy roll to convince the gods to be your bitches.

I agree, that was the best trick.
