OK, proposed changes from Beyond sound good to me. Thoughts?

Current vote for comparison:
Okay, the Sayaka line looks great, even if it is a quotable line rather than a second-person directive. But that second line is backsliding; I'm still certain that we need to front-load our certainty that Hitomi's reaction is almost certainly a misunderstanding:

-[ ] Reassure Hitomi she's probably misunderstood something about what we've just said. That said, inform her she does not have enough knowledge to judge your actions. The realities Magical Girls face are different, harsher than she knows.

And then there's that bit that got stuck at the end: "If she's upset we didn't tell her and Sayaka, admit that we did probably make a mistake and that they had a right to know what happened. We just didn't want to needlessly worry them about a problem we'd already solved." We just apologized for this; we don't need to do it again.

Being apologetic is not a bad thing, in this situation. They're not political opponents, they're our friends.

That last line is seriously terrible. "If she's upset... probably made a mistake... didn't want them to worry about a problem already solved"
Am I the only one who sees a potential problem with those words?

And since when was not healing her arm a concession? We actually did help heal some of damage one day didn't we?

I'm going to go ahead and call bullshit on one Ugo change here.

"[]If she's upset we didn't tell her and Sayaka, admit that we did probably make a mistake and that they had a right to know what happened. We just didn't want to needlessly worry them about a problem we'd already solved."

That, that, that is just such a colossal fuckup I don't know how he put it in. Let me just...

"And we didn't deserve to know?"

Ugo what :jackiechan:

Propose:

[] If she's upset we didn't tell her and Sayaka, inform her that she's got a right to feel that way, and that's why we brought them here to tell them and to apologize for not telling them.

If we're going to give her a reason, it should be "We didn't want it to cause Sayaka to contract" and it should come after a full carpetbombing regarding meguca society.

We were worried that Homura would be annoyed that we're spending timestop healing the arm f the person she wants to kill in front of her.

That said, you have an excellent point about the last line. I was already feeling iffy about it. Again, be honest. We were afraid they'd react rashly and do something they'd regret or would get them killed.

And Oriko-chan makes three.

Well of course we wouldn't ask her to actually help with timestop. Seeing as she hates them. But I never got the impression that we weren't allowed to heal her. I thought we just didn't do it because it would take forever, and they were already working on it on their own.

If they were political opponents, then being apologetic might help. They're teenagers, and we're trying to change their thinking; that's not going to happen if we keep effectively telling them they're right and we're wrong. We weren't wrong; we were just concerned with Sayaka making a Contract, which she went and did anyway after promising us she wouldn't.

Maybe it's just me being sick and tired but the more we discuss this the more I want Sabs to declare herself god empress and take over the world by force. For their own good of course... mongrels.

I-is this the fabled [GILGAMESH INTENSIFIES]? :o

We didn't heal her arm then because FFS, we were done with that night. We just wanted to go home and crash and not see Oriko again for at least a day. We didn't heal her arm afterwards because Kirika was handling it and we had other stuff to do. Like help Masami. Fight a war. Deal with fucking Ono.

No, it's actually rather going to have to happen, more or less. A natural course for this conversation to run would be "what are you going to do about things being this way for meguca?" and quite frankly one way or another the answer we've already decided on is "we're going to impose some form of democracy on meguca worldwide." At some point that's going to mean asserting the fact that the Mitakihara group is the dominant global power, because somebody isn't going to like the cut of our jib. And if we can keep all or most of the current members alive, that will not be terribly difficult if the meguca we've seen so far in Japan are any indication.

I was referring to the reason we didn't do it that night. As for afterwards, the initial reason that we decided to do it very slowly was that we were afraid that Homura would think that we weren't serious about punishing and containing Oriko and Kirika if we healed her arm too quickly and she would kill them. But your aorementioned reasoning did come into it, especially later.

EDIT:^ That too. I just remember the Homura discussion, because, like with many other posters here, the prospect of angering Homura terrifies me. She'd instantly become our most dangerous enemy.

We're trying to calm the situation and inform them of the reality, not win a damn argument.

Last line was weak, yeah. Given options so far:

[] If she's upset we didn't tell her and Sayaka, yes. We know, we made a mistake by keeping it from them.

[] If she's upset we didn't tell her and Sayaka, she's got a right to feel that way. That's why we brought them here to tell them, and to apologize for not telling them.

:( Why does Megane get dissed so much?
'cause she sucks. :)

:( Why does Megane get dissed so much?

I sympathize with her sort of, but Mura, I diss the crap out of her because by that point in my reading of the quest I was not happy to be spending 10 updates looking after somebody who was being an asshole to us. She's wonderful, I just fucking hate her for not being a more interesting or less douche character.

Keep in mind that what drew me into this quest was caring for Mami.

Oh the hell with that, I don't like the idea of harming our ties with Homura because damn that girl deserves a break. She has so many characteristics that I admire in my fictional characters, in perhaps unheard of quantities, and she just. Can't. Win.

Honestly, I also dislike how much people dislike her, because I remember incredibly getting frustrated with how unSabrinaly unsympathetic Sabrina was getting in that situation due to people's anger.

I do admit she's very abrasive, and I'd probably find dealing with her trying IRL, but we deal with worse all the time, and the pettiness displayed there is not very confidence inducing in the light of the mission Sabrina keeps asserting she has.

Oh, I agree. But there are plenty of others who also need our help. And I can't deny that the idea of her as an enemy is terrifying to me. (Possibly one of the reasons why she's the main antagonist in my own quest, but then again, the setting kind of enforces that)

I think part of why Ono gets dissed is because she's been an active obstacle to our plans.

We want to save the meguca, and then she goes and repeatedly threatens the life of a meguca! Her own!

Damn it, Ono! Stop trying to kill Ono!

I've actually been thinking that I'd be fascinated to see your thoughts if you read it, actually.

*palms face*

I still have to watch Rebellion. And Wraith Arc, if that's a separate thing.

*drags hand down face*

While building this app, dealing with the material for my Champions character in the upcoming campaign (playing a catgirl there too, but with significantly looser morals -- and apparently the biotech sector wants to experiment on me, nyaaa~an *shudders*), a slapdash of editor-work, a bit of writing, PMAS, working out, holding together the SC2-based community that forms my core ingroup, aaaaaaaaaaaaand finding ways to waste time in between so that I don't go stir crazy. Oh and college again in, uh, eight/ten days. Nutjob uncle over for christmas. And the day I get through to my parents that sweet lord, I'd rather make my own breakfast and wake up an hour later is the day I die happy. They're wonderful, amazing people, with whose help I have gotten through life exceedingly well, but god dammit I would be higher functioning if you would stop getting me up regularly.

Not sure if they've made a vote yet, but I agree with the majority of what they've been saying and I wanna at least have a placeholder vote in case I forget.

It's just that, in some ways, I'm not sure if we even treated Akiko worse.

Sorry. I get it. Not trying to ruin your schedule. I know how I struggle to keep up with everything I'd like to. That said, I don't think watching Rebellion is strictly necessary (and Wraith Arc isn't really necessary at all. I hadn't read it when I started writing).

Akiko did her best to be reasonable. The fact she's traumatized crazy doesn't change that... and we got pissed at her. The Akiko hate was pretty big back then.

And we got to smash her against the ground a few times! :V

EDIT: *Nulls vote and changes it for [Q] kick sayaka in the face, slap hitomi and kiss mami*

Nono, you're fine, wonderful even. I just completely can't.

*lifts glass*

Well, we treated Oriko worst of all.

You never had to go this far.

Cheers.
