Ask Homura and Mami by telepathy if this is a good time to talk to Sayaka about Walpy.

'Do you think it's a good time to tell her about Walpy?'

'...'

'I guess...'

'Walpy?'

'Yes, what?'

'Uh, I mean, you know, Walpy, Waluigi- Walpurgisnacht, I mean.'

'Never. Say that. Again.'

'Got it. Got it, sure. Never again.'

"What the hell is going on? Why are you making faces? Am I missing something?"

Spoilsport.

[x] A few hours, maaybe the whole day if we do end up getting in touch with Tokyo, or if some crisis comes up. But probably, what, four or five hours? Look at Mami for confirmation.
-[x] The plan was just a quick visit to check up on people and cleanse some Soul Gems and Grief Seeds. You don't need to commit to it now, Sayaka. We don't need train tickets or anything, so feel free to wait on deciding.

[x] Shall we move this discussion to someplace more comfortable?
-[x] Use a Grief platform to fly everyone back to Mami's place. Offer to clean everyone's Soul Gems. Offer Sayaka her apology cupcake for waking her up.

[x] Ask Homura and Mami by telepathy if this is a good time to talk to Sayaka about Walpurgisnacht. Ask to form the privacy construct, then do so.

[x] There's a couple more things we need to talk about.
-[x] When multiple witches interact with each other, under rare circumstances, they can merge into a single, stronger witch. There's one such conglomerate that has persisted for hundreds of years, gathering strength all the while. It is known as Walpurgisnacht- the "night of witches".
--[x] Indications are that it's going to arrive in Mitakihara by the end of the month.
---[x] Indicate for Mami to confirm all this.

[x] Homura knows more than I do, but the basics are that it's enormous - skyscraper sized - and manifests in the real world, not in a barrier.
-[x] Leave an opening for Homura to say as much or as little as she wants.
--[x] There's a very good chance it's going to level the entire city if unopposed: in the past, appearances of Walpurgisnacht were attributed to enormous storms, or volcanic eruptions - natural disasters of that magnitude.

[x] We're going to try to stop it. Defeat it, once and for all.
-[x] Homura's already hacked into the weather service to issue a hurricane warning and order an evacuation of the city before it hits, and we're going to ask almost every magical girl we know to fight alongside us.
-[x] We won't force Sayaka to risk her life - and with how powerful Walpurgisnacht is, even with the best plan, there's always a risk - but if she's willing to help, then we'd welcome her to the team.

[x] If she asks why we didn't mention this earlier:
-[x] Grimace. With my unique power, and this amount of forewarning, we're in an unusually good position to put together a coalition against Walpurgisnacht. Pushing you and Madoka to contract was the last thing we wanted to do at that point.

[x] If Sayaka asks about the other thing: it's a bit unpleasant and not in the "big enemy, will fight" way, so it should probably wait until after the picnic...

For now,

[X]The Narrator

I don't like the idea of spoiling the party now, especially not after we've gone all week not saying anything; let's just leave it until it's actually relevant.

At the same time, is there really no time left for high energy magic research? What time is it @Firnagzen?

Now, do we want to call Walpurgisnacht 'Walpy' to Homura's face?
Yes, yes we do.

[Q] "I don't know."

[Q] That's it. That's the vote.

Sayaka might have stuff she needs to do at home, so if we can make the trip not last too long, there's higher chances she can come with us.

It would be nice if we could travel a hell of a lot faster than last time, that is, without any repercussions from moving a big block of Grief with meguca inside it, way too fast.

Any ideas relating to that? Magically make the inside of the Mobile Oppression Fortress be unaffected by whatever amount of gs affects its outside? Can we get rid of air resistance somehow?

Probably add that we need to get in contact with the other cities to arrange meeting times.

Daring.

"Hmm... So I probably don't have a ranged option," you say, summoning a fresh hammer and laying it across your lap to inspect closely. It's just solid forged metal, gleaming and elaborately engraved. You absently trace a few of the lines with a finger.

Mami bites her lip. "Maybe you do?" she says, expression falling. "It's not impossible! But you might have a harder time learning to use it, that's all-"
Let's see.......We have a hammer, so perhaps we can fire a barrage of nails at targets as a ranged attack? Similarly to how Vita Yagami uses the fact that one of her hammer's modes resembles a croquet mallet to hit people with metal spheres?

Alternatively, perhaps we can learn to hit people with a banhammer, shutting down their ability to use magic?

That's for when Best Buddy teaches us the Anti Magic enchantment.

EDIT: Geez, we really should get around to trying making a Grief Control enchantment.
I actually think that might be our way of making relays for our power to get around that range issue. So, I think this is quite important. Though, I'd like to see if we can make relays from pure grief first. Maybe we'l get lucky and if we don't we may get the insight we need for enchanting them.

That seems to be in rather poor taste.
Not really, it has less to do with making light of her suffering and more to do with getting Homura to stop associating the coming Walpurgisnacht with the ones she has continuously lost to. To her, Walpurgisnacht is an unbeatable foe who, even in death, has constantly cost her everything. Walpy-chan however is just a strong witch that Sabrina and Co. will help her squish on the way to more important things, like the geography test that she has never had to actually take because of the loops.

Thought: us swinging it causes a disproportionate amount of energy to be released when it hits something. Presumably, it doesn't weigh too much to us.

Conclusion 1: We take up combat golfing.
Conclusion 2: Mami makes us our own gun, and we load it with Hammer Tipped High Velocity Armor Bludgeoning shells (HTHVAB).

Railgun, though.
