If you can cut bullets, you can deflect them. That sounds like an useful lesson, unless the swords are nimble enough to lose integrity by the act. Or you can cut bullets at a reasonable distance. That works too.

Soo, I see that the trial for infidelity and mild moderate blasphemy was postponed... Again. There should be a law making the judge waste their time a capital offense.:anger:</not being serious at all>

And since the morality debate was suspended, the strategy and science debates are over and the RPG has a heightened risk of straying off topic, what's next on the list? Costumes?
Homura and Sayaka being crazy for not understanding the Chibis.

Can you believe Homu didn't even try hugging a Chibi? Yes.

Blasphemy. We didn't go through the work of creating such marvelous forms of art and moe only for them to ignore them, did we?

Mami is the only sane meguca here.

Maybe Best Buddy will appreciate our Chibi. Specially if Chibi Kirika and Chibi Oriko happen.

On that note, we still haven't sewn dolls of every meguca. What best way to cement ourselves as Kirika's Best Buddy than to gift her a little adorable Oriko doll?

You'd have to be able to impart enough lateral velocity to the bullet (or bullet halves, in the case of cutting) that it is clear of your torso before it reaches you. At an arm's length, that basically means speed equal to a fair percentage of what the bullet already has. It would basically require a low-level superhuman speed.

Or you can deflect the bullets without cutting them, by presenting the side of the sword instead of the edge.

I mean, we're talking about magical superhumans. Bet with enough experience, Sayaka could reflect bullets back to sender. Wouldn't that be cool?

I mean, Mami would still pwn her by making the pellet explode into ribbons as soon as it reaches her, but... Nobody can be as cool as Mami. :p

PMAS: You Can (Not) Be As Cool As Mami.

I assume that you mean just putting the flat of the blade in the path of the bullet, and stopping it dead on, rather than smacking it aside?

The sword would need to be super-durable to not be shattered by the impact, and not having the sword knocked out of your hand would be difficult. Getting the sword into position would require either some rather incredible speed and reflexes, or the ability to predict where the bullet will be.

So you just have to predict the prediction lines?

All of the issues with bullet blocking seem resolvable with magic:

• Mami and Homura both have the reflexes needed to shoot bullets out of the air, so it's something meguca can aquire with practice.

•Sayaka was noted for being speedy even by (non-wish boosted) meguca standards, so getting her sword into position should be doable.

• With how durable magical weapons are, and with Mami's anchoring trick, stopping the momentum of a bullet with a sword should be totally doable.

So... that sounds like a practice session for Sayaka.

Have Mami shoot Sayaka slowly, probably starting with relatively slow and flashy pellets, so Sayaka can see them and try to block them. Once Sayaka can deflect the bullets aside, start making it harder to see the incoming bullet...

For starters, deflecting at an angle, so the bullet would fly past the defending meguca.

For magic bullshit, outright deflecting bullets back at the shooter.

Magic. Swords. Magic. Strenght. :p

Also, Mami can shoot meguca without seeing them. Deflecting bullets by knowing where they're gonna land goes on along those lines.

And if they aren't tough enough, they can be replaced like regular bullet vests. Better than a piece of copper/lead in the brain, spine, heart or liver for sure.
Regular bullet vests can't stand up to bullets, can they?

They get holey after a few shots. The nicer ones break inside.
Well, still impractical against magical enhanced attacks. Maybe we should ask Sakaya if, in the same way we can transform our meguca costume into maid clothes/cosplay, she can make hers super durable and tough.

Not necessarily going into Sayaka Quest levels of armor, but something that'd stand up against head on magical attacks.

Next stop, force-choking.
That's totally a thing we could learn (or Grief assist) to do, but kind of useless against meguca. Full body Grief/ribbon bind much better. :p

EDIT: Random idea that's popped up now and then: Grief up DVDs of stuff that doesn't exist in the PMAS world, copy them with mundane technology, see if the copies keep working after exiting our range.

Why would we do this? Erm... We could give Best Buddy something to watch? And Meguca Melee to play.

And learn more about our limits, I guess. Maybe whatever we use to copy the things, gets affected by the Grief? ... I doubt it, but maybe?

"That's settled, then. Though, uh, if that round goes as quickly as I expect it will, maybe we can shuffle the teams for the next go around?"

...

Mami smiles back at you, seemingly soothed. "Alright," she agrees. "Good idea, Sabrina."

It occurs to me that we told Mami that if she completes the first round quickly enough, she can be on a team with us.

... We're doomed.

Hmmm..should we try spinning our Warhammer as fast as we can, like a bo staff?
(It's light as heck after all.)

That way Sabrina could use the built up kinetic energy+inertia+momentum of fhe spinning to make a really, really hard hit?

Apparently Sabrina Velocity is an anagram for "A Lesbian Victory", courtesy of Godwinson fucking around with it.

So. The debate on Sabrina's surname is now over.

More Sabrina Surname Anagrams!

Sabrina Just Sabrina? "Just A Barbarian's Sin"

Sabrina Velocity? "Banalise Victory" or "Variably Notices" or "A Sybaritic Novel" or "A Lesbian Victory" or "A Viral Obscenity" or "Abrasively Con It" or "Banality Is Cover" and several other inappropriate things, considering Sabrina's age.

When did we get an anagram generator and where can I find it?

I think we should stop the anagrams. If nothing else they may prove prophetical, and that's a scary though.

"Just A Barbarian's Sin"

"Banalise Victory"
We Win...right?

"Variably Notices"

"A Sybaritic Novel"
That sounds positively hedonistic

"A Viral Obscenity"
So close man, so close

"Abrasively Con It"

"Banality Is Cover"
