Homura frowns. "Before that," she says. "We are doing teamwork practice, right? Two versus two?"

"Yep, that's what I was thinking," you agree.

She nods. "I volunteer to team up with Mami."
Homura knows what's up. If we're limiting our stuff to basic melee and ranged attacks we're gonna lose so hard it's not even funny.

It would be interesting to know how many miniBrinas we can control at the same time and if we can do full size ones. Would be a nice trick to confuse enemies and basically give us range limited clones.

So, are we volunteering Chibi-brina for Sayakas team, or are we going to have the Chibi's referee?

So, Mami and Homura training Sayaka and us how to dodge? Sounds good. And possibly painful, but we need to train the basics almost as much as Sayaka does.

...this it going to hurt, isn't it?

At any rate and given that in actual combat we are (most likely) going to use grief as sword and shield, I think we should test if it can resist bullets and if our reflexes are fast enough to block/deflect said bullets after the practice session.

We may have a hammer, but our true hammer is dark and made of misery, not bright and magicky.

Chibi-brina has sense we can use! Excellent! Now we can be in more than one place at the same time. As long as the places are close to each other. Still, that helps with scouting at least.

We need to create a chibi Homura. And then when Sayaka arrives, a chibi Sayaka. Let's put our multitasking to use at BEING ADORABLE!
If we want them to see the appeal, we need to create a Minidoka and Kyouko.

It also helps with mornings, now that we no longer have to choose between making breakfast and keeping Mami company until she wakes up.

We can use cuteness as an excuse to test our limits too. How many bodies can we control at the same time, given how peculiar our focus seems to be.

[] No fair, choosing the best teammate when she's already so awesome.

well, since we are going in to combat maneuvers. Can we block things with our wings? It would be nice to know if they can act as a quick shield if we ever are somehow incapable of dodging (like say, bullets) or need to cover someone else.

Edit: I also remember a tidbit about our feathers being razor sharp, might help against ribbons. (that said, the tidbit is hazy and open to interpretation)
EditEdit: also Mami is probably very used to things trying to cut her Ribbons to Ribbons, it probably wont work even if they are sharp.

There's an interested gleam in Mami's eyes. "Battleship artillery?"
This is encouraging. Mami showing such an apparently genuine interest in something without checking for Sabrina's approval. We should do more of this with her.

Sabrina is going to be shot. A lot.

Speaking of big guns, let's talk about really dangerous ammunition. Can the Chibi-Mami be cannon-launched?

Hmm. Y'know what, I can deal with it. We're going to get demolished, but I can deal with it.

I think we can call this round of Mumiscience a resounding success. We made real progress ourselves, and greatly cheered her up in the process.

Vote V1

[x] Hmm. I suppose I'd be okay with that if you are, Mami? Though if that round goes as quickly as I expect it will, maybe we can shuffle the teams for the next go around?
-[x] We'll decide once we see how things play out. What kind of ruleset will we be using? Mami, Homura, thoughts? Defer to the veterans expertise.
--[x] If Homura brings up not wanting Sayaka to copy her power, and Mami objects, try and smooth it over. Use telepathy if necessary.

[x] Keep working on the Cannone di Picchio, with Homura's advice taken into account. Try out a scale model of a few loading mechanisms, both hand-held and from larger artillery, see which ones are easiest for you to handle.
-[x] Try integrating a loading mechanism into one of Mami's muskets, to see how your magics interact on a smaller scale. Note any issues or oddities and try to resolve them.
--[x] If all goes well, try it with Tiro Finale. Let Mami name the result.
---[x] If it's safe, have your chibi climb onto the cannon while you work on it. Invite Mami's chibi as well.

[x] When Sayaka arrives, greet her as if nothing unusual is going on. Refuse to acknowledge the existence of the chibis in the background.
-[x] Dismiss the various experiments (including, sadly, the chibis) and set up the training.
