Yea, I wasn't advocating actually DOING it.
Knowing how contracts work on a fundamental level is probably gonna be useful information - for dewitching, if nothing else. Uncontracting would be a useful service to provide, as well.
But it also stops working when we leave (range).I doubt it'd be that big a time investment comparatively, as our magic basically works on "Want it, get it."
Shit fuck shitty shitty fuck fuck!OKAY SO I CAN PROVIDE A SUMMARY OF WRAITH ARC CHAPTER 9.
Still can't give exact wording on stuff, I'm working off incomplete scans and someone else who read it who's Korean.
So it opens up with a flashback to Homura on a rooftop watching Wraiths, like at the end of EP12. Kyubey isn't there. She casually summons her Shield, and laments that she can't use it to turn back time anymore, she's tried. Since it has no value to her anymore, she drops it. As it hits the ground, however, it opens into a wormhole, and Homura jumps in to investigate.
Inside...is a strange road of strings, bound by the stakes associated with Wraiths/Clara Dolls. The stakes are binding the movement of this road, which is a huge creature.
It's Ultimate Kriemheld Gretchen, and Homura has a brief skirmish with it before she manages to retreat and close the wormhole. Homura flips the fuck out over HOW GODDAMN DANGEROUS that fucking is, and rewrites her memory to think she's unable to summon her shield ,and thus unable to do so.
Back in the present, Majuuka's last act is to hand Homura's ribbon, and thus her memories, back to her, and then dies. Homura can no longer regenerate or fight, and is totally fucked like at the end of EP11. She has a brief hallucination of Madoka helping her at the end like she did there, and her tears fall on her Soul Gem. Homura is pulled physically inside it (And looks like Moemura), where she meets Ultimate Homura, who claims to be a "part of her power", born when Madoka and Homura parted for the first time. She, the bow, and the memory magic were born from that moment, as her wish didn't want to let go of Madoka.
However, this magic isn't perfectly bound to Homura's soul, because it was never born of a wish, or a contract with Kyubey. That's why all the anomalies happened. Moreover, this new power makes contact between her old magic, the Shield and the Time Magic, allowing you to get to one if you go through the other, like siamese twins connected at the hip. This created a link to the Time Road where UKG, the Curse of the Goddess, lies; since Homura was there, she could walk back to there (Ultimate Homura is strongly implying Homura always had the ability to go back to timelines she abandoned).
Homura has a brief aside about how if UKG is there...Madoka might be there. She realizes that she'd be too tempted to one day try to use the shield to go find her, but she miscalculated when she cover it up with memory magic. The Wraiths stole some of her magic, and thus tasted the Goddess's Curse. The power that the Wraiths can't digest is UKG herself. If nothing is done, this distortion will consume all reality.
Homura wants to defeat it, even though that means closing off the road to Madoka. She speaks with her memory constructions of Sayaka, Mami, Kyouko, and Majuuka, saying that she wants to protect the world where she met them, specifically including Majuuka in all this. She makes a new contract with Ultimate Homura, who calls herself "Ai", and Homura's magic completes itself, as her time magic is (seemingly) erased to give her the complete rose blow. She wakes up healed, can use the corruption wings, and they actually ERASE grief to use. Homura's Soul Gem is cleaner than it was going into the fight, and her energy arrows are as powerful as Madoka's were, pwning Wraithpurgis.
The Shield it had breaks. Time rewinds to the beginning of EP12. They essentially recap all of that, frame for frame, except after the very end. Kyubey finds a broken piece of Homura's shield, refusing to dematerialize, and he notes that Homura might not be insane. This needs further research...
AURATWILIGHT WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING. WRAITH ARC END.
Observations: 1) So Homura could always go back to timelines she left behind, though why would she want to ever.
2) The black ink-droop like patterns associated with the Clara Dolls and the Wraith arcs are also associated with UKG. This means the motif belongs to her, as Homura and the Wraiths are both influenced by her power and themes.
3) UKG is now officially the Witch of the Law of Cycles. We knew that but the confirmation's nice.
4) Majuuka is best girl.
5) I FUCKIN' TOLD ALL Y'ALLS HOMURA WAS AI.
6) Homura essentially has two contracts, and was able to make one with herself. This contract was to protect Madoka's world, and had the karmic backing of UKG, so that explains a lot tbh.
7) Fuckin' TOLD Y'ALLS about those Wings of Corruption.
8) Lol Homura actually went through two post-Madoka timelines. Nice.
9) Homura's shield fragment persists the reversing of reality and exists in the new timeline, refusing to disappear like a Magic Weapon normally does. Considering what wish the shield represents, this implies Homura's two wishes are at odds, and the wish WANTED Kyubey to do Rebellion so she could see Madoka.
I still think we should dump ridiculous amounts of grief into the atmosphere to see what happens.P.S: What's your current hypothesis on what happens if Sabrina lets grief coalesce outside her range? It's increasingly obvious that wraiths shouldn't form outside worlds that have been re-written, so what would form?
Get disappoint-stared by Mami and Homura after they inevitable need to save our ass.I still think we should dump ridiculous amounts of grief into the atmosphere to see what happens.
That seems to be the sort of thing you'd want to test in a safe environment first where no one could get hurt. So... Trip to Mars? No, wait. Mars doesn't have an atmosphere. Venus?I still think we should dump ridiculous amounts of grief into the atmosphere to see what happens.
We've asked Homu for help, so if something goes wrong, we've got her timestop on our side. That seems to be the sort of thing you'd want to test in a safe environment first where no one could get hurt. So... Trip to Mars? No, wait. Mars doesn't have an atmosphere. Venus?
That's an unsafe environment too...but for us. On Earth, we ruin atmosphere. On Venus, atmosphere ruins us.
Eh. Walpurgis isn't drawn to Grief, she's drawn to Drama. Mitakihara is the perfect stage for her, and I suspect that Walpurgis has a natural compunction of appearing in scenarios where she faces off against the most epic, powerful, courageous, and noble of Magical Girls.
The most classic tale of Good VS Evil, either the tragedy of a fallen Magical Girl, either crushed under her heel, or made a Witch that's soon to be absorbed into her amalgam...or, finally, a Magical Girl triumphs and defeats her, ending her pain.
It's...unfortunately, usually a tragedy. But she spins, spins, spins, repeats the tail. Knowing that eventually she'll find peace. Either through a glorious ending battle, or because she destroyed everything.
Either is fine. So she laughs.
But the solution is simple. We just need to:That's an unsafe environment too...but for us. On Earth, we ruin atmosphere. On Venus, atmosphere ruins us.
Firn 'like'd my Walurgis omake where Walpy is happy when Sabrina goes all out because it makes a good story, for what it's worth.
Wait do we have to fight off a yandere.Well, yea. In timeline 1, she was probably attracted by Mami and Madoka, and then it became Madoka more and more and more. The ultimate drama of Madoka always martyring herself to save the world, and Homura struggling in vain to stop her, fighting all alone for her most beloved Princess...
The repeating drama of the three of them is probably Walpy's ultimate delight, until Sabrina came.
Sabrina, who might be her alternate self redeemed. Sabrina, who wishes to save all Meguca. Sabrina, who wields despair to create happiness. An interdiction, a deus ex machina descended, but now bound by the chains of karma and drama.
The ultimate opponent. The ultimate thrill.
We already fought Kirika.
I wat thinking about how much Walpurgisnacht might find fighting Sabrina 'thrilling'...We already fought Kirika.
Wait, aimed at Sabrina? Um, hopefully we don't have to fight Mami. That would be bad for literally everyone ever.
There's always the obvious solution.I wat thinking about how much Walpurgisnacht might find fighting Sabrina 'thrilling'...
But now I'm thinking... Walpurgisnacht's shadowguca Familiars.
What if she comes with a ShadowBrina familiar?
What if Brina tries to engage Walpurgis only to be stopped by a ShadowMami? And ShadowMami proceeds to not attack Brina, but hug her into the ground, causing Brina's instincts to cause her to return hugs, leaving her completely immobilized?
Terrifying.

More like Gurman with the 'changes' they make while speaking it.
That seemed unnecessary and resulted in something horrible occurring that could of been avoided.but she miscalculated when she cover it up with memory magic. *Wraiths like grief milkshake.*

So, a normal day for Homura.
Also, that means Madoka's Wish for Universal Good screwed up the backdrop/etc, meaning Magical Girls with Powers to access 'backstage/the wings' would have eventually borked the world anyway when UKG scurred them back in/ate them.
