Is it too late to save michiru before everything goes downhill?

The canon PMKM timeline has her witching out in... ten days, I think? As for how that'll play out here, with Sabrina making ripples in the general Japanese puella community and Firn playing fast and loose with PMKM... who knows? I sure don't.

I will say that if she does witch out, I'd frankly expect her friends to come to us. Rumors of a grief controller hanging out with Mami are very relevant to their interests. And then the thread would blame itself for not getting involved earlier. So, yeah, let's nip that in the bud.

I know that, but I didn't know if I would have another chance to reference that series here.
There's always chance to make references!

I make one every 2 posts or so. It doesn't mean people will get them, but you just need to try, and try, and try*.

*Results may vary**.

**Read: It will not work.

By the time the manga starts, they lost their most dearest, cherished light of their world 13 times already, and 12 of those times they had to shove said clones in a box where they were basically languishing in an undead state.

Remember how Homura felt after killing Madoka after three timelines of failure?

Yea. That's our metric here. Kazumi was their Madoka, and they all loved her just as deeply.
But... But...

they lost their most dearest, cherished light of their world 13 times already,
"Scrubs."

:V

(At least we have a way to explain to Homu why we want to go to Asunaro.)

"So what are these girls like?"

"Imagine an emotionally unhinged version of you, but instead of there just being one of you, there's now six of you."

"...I'll go stock up on more weaponry."
"And there's only one Madoka for all of them."

"... How."

"... I'm gonna give you a hug now, OK?"

"..."

*Hugs Homura*

"..."

*Lets go*

"... Feel any better?"

"..."

"Shit I think I broke you."

It's an hour, maybe a bit less, before Mami starts to stir. You blink awake from your half doze. Mami's eyes flicker, soft gold staring muzzily at you.

You smile at her, and a few moments of blinking incomprehension later, she responds with a tentative, sleepy smile. She yawns hugely, and then her eyes flutter closed again.

I'm still not over how fucking KAWAIIIIIII this is

Of course there's an excuse.

Kirika's so lovably murderously moe.
The Saints have one of those too! Mirai, the bear girl.

That's how we make contact with them. We explain to her that Mamimamimamimamimamimami and she replies that Sakisakisakisakisakisaki, and then we will be in perfect accord.
Suzune Magica... now that's a different story. It's my primary counterpoint to the 'all meguca enemies are just misguided' argument - If Sabrina encounters Kagari Hinata, I'll be voting to kill her, and won't feel guilty doing so.
Since it doesn't look like the wiki page actually spells it out, she mind-whammies Suzune into becoming a serial killer of megucas in order to later throw it into her face to make her witchout, because Suzune was inadvertently and indirectly responsible for her mother figure's death.

That said, straight-up killing her is not the ideal solution, if only because homicide is going to make some of our friends side-eye us and is very easy for Kyubey to use against us.
The thing about the Kazumi cast is that on a good day they were a team of Mami's ideal teammates, sharing her values pretty much exactly.
And also our values, of dewitching, gemming rather than killing, and booting Kyubey the hell out. They are precious pantsless children.
Why do you hate fun.

The thing about the Kazumi cast is that on a good day they were a team of Mami's ideal teammates, sharing her values pretty much exactly.

Then they got witchbombed, and had no convenient method to prevent Witching and do Dewitching except shoving bitches in a freezer (Which is better than Tetris) and experimenting on Grief Seeds (of which we can't throw stones).

What fucks up the Pleaides is that they believed that had Grief-Cleansing but actually didn't, so they spiralled without realizing anything was wrong. On top of that, the current Kazumi is the 13th clone of Michiru. By the time the manga starts, they lost their most dearest, cherished light of their world 13 times already, and 12 of those times they had to shove said clones in a box where they were basically languishing in an undead state.

I know that they're situation is incredibly tragic, that they themselves are rather pitiable, and they have good reason for being the way they are.

It still doesn't change the fact that I find them to be extremely irritating. And think that most of them are really freaking nuts. I guess empathy has its limits.:V

You have literally never read them when not grief spiralling or witch kissed.

TBH, I was only being half-serious and mostly exaggerating but...

Like I said before, I know their situation is tragic. I know they have reasons for them being the way they are. I know they probably aren't in their right minds. That other people and maybe even ourselves might behave in similar ways in the same situation. I think they should be helped and saved. I think we should treat them with compassion.

Still doesn't silence the little whisper in the back of my mind "These people are slightly kind of irritating". Probably might just be my general dislike of the manga tainting my thoughts. It's pretty screwed up, but that's the way it is.

But like you said,
You have literally never read them when not grief spiralling or witch kissed.

So, my feelings would probably change if I did see them as magical girls not half-crazy from loss and being overloaded with grief.

Asunaro gucas must be saved, no questions.
Kagari though.
...........
...........

All in favor of scaring the complete and utter shiz out of her, rather than physical violence?
NO. Do not leave that menace at large. Either kill her or Gem her (then lock the Gem away in a secure vault). I favor the former.

Seriously, I don't care how big a hero complex we have. Do not leave mentally unstable, highly dangerous threats on the loose. Especially after earning their ire through an intimidation attempt.

Actually, are we sure that this isn't on the same power scale as Tiro Finale? We basically just vaporized a car. That laser probably was an order of magnitude or two more powerful than the ones that the US military has been experimenting with mounting on airplanes, and if really was 300 MJ of energy, that's more than a thousand times the energy of a 30mm round from the GAU-8 anti-tank Gatling gun on an A-10 Thunderbolt.

In other words: that was a pretty big gun we just fired.

I kind of agree, but also I'm not sure that it's actually possible. Blushing is an involuntary reaction. It's not just something you can decide to do. Although perhaps a magical girl can.

[X] *hugs*
[X] Of course it's alright, Mami. I asked you because I value your opinion. What you think is really important to me.
[X] And... it's really cool when you're all badass and confident like that.
[X] I just want to make sure that my attacks are worthy of the awesome names that you come up with. I dunno... is this really on par with something like Tiro Finale?
-[X] If she thinks that it absolutely is, accept "Luce Finale" as a name. If not, tell her you're going to save "Luce Finale" for something that is, and settle on "Luce Eterna" ("Eternal Light") for this one.
[X] Also, did I zone out at all while doing that? If so, how long? Zoning out in combat would probably be bad.
[X] If not, then this was way more successful than anticipated. Kind of makes the other stuff I had planned unnecessary.
[X] Were there any ideas that Mami wanted to try, or wanted us to try?
[X] If not, we have a couple ideas. Can Mami make the things she conjures with her ribbons magnetic?
-[X] If so, lay out some ideas she could use to make a summonable railgun or coilgun.
-[X] If not, can she create a projectile that will behave like metal around a magnet. If so, then we can make the gun while she makes the projectile.
[X] If none of that, it's okay. We have an idea for a tandem attack with Mami. A Tiro Duet if you will. Duet Finale? Is "duet" Italian?
-[X] We can make the gun, but any projectiles we make would be useless at long range. But Mami is great at making projectiles.
--[X] Try making an unloaded grief musket and see if Mami can load it with one of her magic "bullets" and then test-fire it. If it works, then maybe it's something that we can scale up to be even bigger than anything we can do individually.
[X] If none of the ideas pan out or appeal to her, that's fine. We still had one really big success today. We couldn't have done it without her.
[X] *hugs*
I put this here for some reason, hopefully I remember why when I wake up tomorrow.

Enough for a Grimoire?

[WE'RE NOT A WITCH INSENSIFIES]
Exactly. We're a Magician. ;)
