Ok, being more serious about this, any reason you think that Kyouko has accumulated more grief than what would be expected from her? I think it might be related to Yuma but I could be wrong.

While that might be part of it, I think it could be the lifestyle the two of them have that's starting to affect her. Think of it, Kyouko wouldn't mind living as she is but she most likely doesn't wish for Yuma to grow up to be like her: a vagabound without much education whose only focus in live is related to the world of the Magi and who would probably won't be able to fit as well as now when she reaches maturity.

[x] Cleanse everyone, including Jane; be discreet and use your Grief cloud to hide how much Grief you're pulling. Merge half the grief cloud with the marbles in your bag. Marble the rest as usual.
[x] Ask Kyouko how she wants to do this. You can play support and watch her back, or you can go ahead and smash things dead.

[Q] Make fully functioning Grief Wasp-like wings for Yuma's size.
-[Q] Attach wings to Yuma.
--[Q] Watch Yuma learn to fly.

Just random grief 'experiments'.

Isn't he a Charlotte!Sayaka?

She, and it was a temporary thing for that Sayaka invasion and then I lost where everyone's avatars went. (Like are LD and Rex still even PMMM characters? It is a very confusing drift, and there was that rebellious NGE phase...)

Technically I pick Charlotte/Bebe avatars more than Nagisa though, yes.

  • Anxiety about taking care of Yuma, which is why she's hiding it from her. The hiding is the only real clue we have, after all.
  • She's been trying to use her powers again for some reason, possibly because of Sayaka?
  • She went to Kasamino and was driven slightly mad, which is increasing her natural generation rate a bit.
  • Feathers? Feathers. Maybe.

Yesterday, we left Kyouko and Yuma with pristine gems and a standard-level-cleanliness seed. Today:
You can feel the Grief Seed in her pocket, the one you'd given her. Jane. It's all but full, throbbing on your senses, and you can feel the state of her Soul Gem - maybe a third full. More than a third, at a guess, edging towards half. Yuma's is in much better condition.
Until now, Kyouko and Yuma were doing fine. Well, not 'fine' -- they were struggling -- but they were staying afloat. Despite being starved by a witch shortage. It sounds like they could get by for days or weeks per seed. Including the fighting to get new seeds.

There's no way that their lifestyle would suddenly jump into consuming a full seed plus a third of a soul gem in a day. Something anomalous has happened.

An especially difficult witch fight -- maybe. They don't have a new seed from killing a witch, though.

A fight with another MG -- plausible, but I feel like she'd tell us up front. She knows the way we like to stick our nose into the movements of other MGs. Maybe I'm wrong though; she certainly doesn't want to look like she depends on us for guarding her territory.*
* Expanding on this: She invited us on this witch hunt. Is that anomalous? Is this bros killing time with bros, or is it a lone wolf reaching out for help because she's out of her depth?

My pet theory is they've discovered one of Kyuubey's bombs and this grief buildup is from genuine trauma.

I tend to suspect it's actual trauma too. Grr I wanna know now Firn! :p

I admit I too am looking forward to science when we have time, but honestly my first thought was "hey, now we can talk to kyubey."

Still though. :(

...Does this mean if we ever (Madokami forbid! ..."Mod"okami?) lost Mami, we would try to cheer ourselves up by realizing we can microwave tea now?

God forbid that happens, losing Mami that is, but in the hypothetical case we do lose her, our best action would be try to take in and help other junior puellas and mentor them like Mami would have.

And, most importantly, we need to respect her wishes, as much as it would tore us at first, we would have to learn to live without her. Mami wouldn't want that we go the same route that Homura did.

Is it bad that I'm hoping that the grief buildup is from them being witchbombed, because it would mean a better support network for later?

Canonically, Kyouko to a degree and Yuma in particular handle the Witchbomb really well, comparatively speaking.

It's not, I mean the worst case scenario would be that a relative of Yuma has caught up with them and has essentially put them both in the run before she is taken away from Kyouko.
inb4 Mami Grief Clones.
No…no Onmur, please no.
