So we CAW CAW Sasa and take her with us to Kasamino.

Easy!

Or... I guess we could expand on what we want to do.

Maybe try to predict some of Sasa's actions?

Basically, Sasa really fucking sucks at Meguca-ing. She's not able to hunt well because she can either have combat capabilities, or Grief Seeds, but not both, and one exacerbates her need for the latter. Everyone in Kasamino basically wants to run her out or kill her because she basically hogs twice as much Witches as anyone else would.
With us she'd be able to dedicate the entire Witch population to combat capability, so we're even more of a force multiplier for her than for normal magical girls.

Yeah, that's too short and dismissive of what she just said.

Acknowledging it has always made it worse in my experience. Just move on and pretend that it doesn't actually matter what problems she has in her life, you're here for almost 100% selfish reasons. Obviously you're not actually here for 100% selfish reasons, and there's some wiggle room in exactly how you word it, but the absolute key point is that you cannot acknowledge that she has any problems that need solving.

I'm not sure if you want to give someone with an inferiority complex impression that you're just ignoring what they're saying. She's really kind of pissed at us right now. Bulldozing on will likely end with a hundred word update of her refusing and telling Sabrina to fuck off.

Yeah, but if you acknowledge the inferiority complex, you reinforce the problem. I don't want you to help me like I'm some sort of weakling. Fuck you. Who are you to decide that I need help? I want you to treat me like I'm just as good as everyone else, if not better. Just because there's stuff I can't do doesn't mean that I'm not worth anything. Right? Right?

That's pretty irrational, not to mention it indicates that you paid absolutely no attention to what I actually said. Which might make it a plausible reaction from her.:V

Fine, don't acknowledge it. But if you don't actually engage her and subvert her expectations, then she's just going to stonewall. The update made that abundantly clear.

For some reason I read selfish as shellfish.
There a seafood restaurant around here or something?

Well I was roleplaying sort of.

Sasa at her best ladies and gentlemen.

I have no idea how to deal with people like her.
I do!
"I don't need your pity," she hisses, sullen, vicious fury flashing across her face. "I don't need a sanctimonious, meddling foreigner to be all concerned for me."
[X] Continue following Sasa whenever she looks to leave.
[X] "Yeah, no, I might be a sanctimonious meddler at times -- good call on that one, by the way -- but pity? Nope. I mean, clearly life has been shitting on your from on high for a long while now, helped along by people around you being jerks, but I only give pity to people who, as you said, need it. You might be dealing with shit that would break others, but it hasn't broken you. That's why I'm here."
[X] "Now, can I explain what's going on, or do I need to prove that I'm as stubborn as you are? If you want to just vent at me, that's fine. I might not be able to take it as well as you would, but if that's what you need to do, I'm game."

Anyone else that might work, but Sasa's whole thing is actively hating anyone she thinks is better than her. That might end badly.

Yes, I know. However unlike all the other approaches, this one might end well. None of the others will stand a chance. She's a misanthrope who hates that she's a misanthrope, but it doesn't stop her from it. If we seem at all like we're concerned about her, it's talking down to her. It doesn't matter if there's no logical way it could be considered talking down to her, because where she is, logic doesn't matter.

We take whatever abuse she heaps out at us, and stay on target. We can't fix everything about her life in one conversation, that's blinding arrogance. What we do is we make sure she knows enough that she won't kill herself because of Kyubey's bullshit, while taking others down with her.

EDIT: People like Sasa you don't deal with in one meeting. You meet with them over and over and over again. Seriously, it's not that different from dealing with Kyouko.

Good luck, Team Social.

I think the idea is to first get to a place where she'll listen to us, and then, depending on the context we find ourselves in, decide how to stop a contract from there.

That will end badly. You're escalating too quickly. The conversation can't be ratcheted up to Maximum Confrontation that quickly.
Every other approach will end just as badly. This one at least has a chance to end well, and it progresses toward our goal of saving her life.

There is no way that this conversation will end well, because Sasa is in that toxic of a place. The way that it can possibly end well is her listening to our warning about the Incubators and taking it seriously.

That won't happen. Anything that we try to say to "get her to think we're not all bad" will fail.
