Also, yes @TheEyes it's completely fine. Keeping the loops from Kirika is just needless secrecy and closing the bar door after the horses are gone in this case.
Not really the point, although I guess we're not keeping Homura's looping a secret so that part doesn't matter.

The larger point is: will reminding her change anything? Apparently Kirika already knows about Homura's looping, and about how the two of them were thorns in Homura's side; that doesn't seem to matter much to her, since she's still begging to be let out. Telling her that the two of them nearly chose to set Homura's waifu's house on fire, with her inside, that should give her a little perspective.

Anyway, it's not particularly important since the thread has spoken at this point; maybe we can keep the idea in our back pocket for the future.

...The point is to put Homura's distrust in terms of something she can empathize with without being accusatory.

It would definitely give her some perspective. Still... on the one hand, Kirika understanding and sincerely apologizing to Homura might help improve relations. On the other hand, Homura's irrational reaction is probably going to be, "YOU TOLD THEM MY WEAK POINT!" Oriko already knows it perfectly well, of course, but I don't think Homura will be very reassured when we tell her that.

There are times when you can go against someone's wishes for their own good. Anything directly connecting Madoka to O&K is not one of those times. Even if we told Kirika not to say anything to Homura, and even if she actually avoided her usual "oujo" teasing, I think explicitly talking about Homura's relationship with Madoka to Kirika is going too far.

It's also of note that Oriko definitely knew better than to set Madoka's house on fire. Oriko'd learn the real meaning of "certain death" rather quickly.

...The point is to put Homura's distrust in terms of something she can empathize with without being accusatory.

We could probably get the idea across in a non-accusatory way.

Hmmm, good point. We'd still be playing right on the border of what's acceptable for us to reveal about Homura but, combined with an injunction against bringing up the subject, the risk/reward ratio may well be in our favor.

I am worried that my calculations are being biased by a strong desire to see Kirika gain a new understanding of Homura. Homura has spent far, far too long having her secrets turn her into an antagonist to those whom she should call friends.

Homura has a history with Other Yous, she's worried about the person she cares about.

Boom done.
... That feels so shortsighted and foolish that it's amazing.
Why not say Homura wished for timepowers to protect Madoka just to make sure that Kirika/etc know Homura's secrets more clearly, might even help more compared to stating it in such a way.

That needs to be reconsidered.

They already know there are other Orikos and Kirikas though?

Because that's too much information in a way that adds nothing to the intent and WOULD actively annoy Homura far more.

Seems it could possibly be viewed as a betrayal so Homura would feel 'hurt' either way, whether we clearly state it or leave inferences so that part likely should be reworked.

I don't see it that way. The current version is specific enough to work without giving too much personal information by mentioning Madoka by name.

Why risk it if a safer way gives a similar result? 'Homura has been hurt many times before by people...'etc, trust, etc.
It's really too late at night for me to think up a replacement, sorry.

@Redshirt Army
Sorry, I've had pneumonia for the past two weeks, I'm kinda not up on the current discussion, so my input is going to be kinda limited to "being nice it good" and "we should help people" with "we should hug Mami" going in the background.

I can play the ocarina!
But how well? Technically, all of us can play the ocarina so long as we get one in our hands.

[ ] Follow best-buddy's lead on this. Apologize to Oriko for being pushy. Ask if you can stay for a bit longer. Try and raise the issue with Oriko, while giving her agency in determining the outcome.

Any issues, suggestions?
Kirika shrugs too. "D'you think you could let us go out sometime?" she asks. "I... I think Oriko would like to do something sometime."
Maybe ask how did the grocery shopping rate on a scale of nothing to something? Of course she wants to do nicer stuff... or maybe more dangerous stuff, but should get an impression...

But Mami is at school right now!!!

... Next time, in PMAS:

"Oh," Mami says, now sounding more confused than anything. "I... is this part of your memories?"
Mami is worriedly wondering a way a girl as young looking as Sabrina could learn to speak various languages from al around the world! But she is about to receive a surprise...

"Sometimes I forget," she says, wondering and somehow surprised. "That Oriko can be wrong."
"You're wrong, Oriko!" cheerfully states Kirika, Best Buddy in the world, "You're wrong, you're wrong, you're wrong!"

Oriko sighs. "I think that's enough of-"

"That's!" interrupts Bestest Buddy, smirking a Bset Smirk, "... WRONG!"

Oriko rubs her temples.

The school bell rings. It's time for recess, but...

Suddenly! Mami is enveloped by a familiar feeling!

She instinctively turns around to try and chastise Sabrina for irrupting into the school...

But Sabrina is not there!

Mami barely manages to regain her composture amongst her classmates... for she had felt Sabrina was right behind her, hugging her right at that very moment!!!

Sabrina stands alone inside an abandoned warehouse, known as... Warehouse-kun.

It is in that place and at that time, while a strident bell finishes ringing in another building in another part of the city that the white haired girl smiles to herself.

"Success."

But her feelings of glory are interrupted... as she remembers she was supposed to be engaging in another activity!

'Kirika!' she calls through the fantastic method of communication known as 'telepathy'.

'Don't worry,' is the immediate answer, 'I took care of everything and Oriko is doing MUCH better!'

Sabrina laughs at herself.

How could she ever forget Best Buddy is BEST?

I think it's a fairly harmless addition if a bit over apologetic. If you want to add it, I don't mind.

I think you may be confused about what I'm suggesting...and that's much too vague to be useful. Kirika needs to know why Homura doesn't trust HER.
