It actually sounds like the fuller seed absorbed grief from the emptier one.

While this is probably atleast partially true, why doesn't a partially used seed absorb the grief of an unused seed?

The only thing I can think of is that Hildegarde's function as a grief seed is breaking down to an extent and has 'less pull' then Aurora does right now.

Except that actual meguca can't do that...so we have absolutely no idea what's going on and probably want to investigate later.

Well yes, but I did put "wake up" in quotes. I'm treating this as a philosophical problem, where the shape of the body, the state of the mind, and the light of the soul are separate but connected entities. It seems to me that theoretically, if a puella magi were to regain her mind and could observe what she had become, it would be possible for her to begin manipulating that which surrounded her. Of course, this assumes that she adapts to the situation rather than just spiraling deeper into despair, but that's a question of psychology.

I dunno, even if it's completely wrong, it's an interesting theoretical possibility and something worth potentially pursuing in an independent speculative fanfiction.

I'm pretty sure that you're going to need to dump grief into Kyuubey to make this situation work unless you're refilling Hildegard's seed.

We still have 20 meter grief wings behind us that certainly aren't going to fit through the hospital doors even if you manage to siphon enough off Aurora without blotting out the sun.

There is a simple experiment we could do to determine whether Hildegard is rejecting grief or not. Try to use her to cleanse our soul gem. If she is rejecting, then either nothing will happen or she will try shunting her grief on us (I recommend emptying her seed before trying this). If it was just the lack of a full grief seed rendering her weaker than Aurora and Aurora taking advantage of that to subjugate her, then the cleansing will go as normal.

The only place for you to put the Grief to is back in Hildegard's Seed -you suppose you could make a giant Grief monolith and leave it here, but that's probably a bad idea- so you dig the Seed out of your pocket and hold it up, moving a few spheres out of the way so that the light catches the Seed.

Yep. Still a mostly clear, spherical shape with a pinprick dot of darkness in the centre. You shrug, and begin pouring the Grief back in - it goes in much more readily than it came out, the Seed vacuuming it in almost as fast as you can disincorporate your spheres.
Leads me to believe Hildegarde is still very much working as a grief seed. Honestly I think our grief science from earlier weakened her which is allowing Aurora to absorb Hildegardes grief. This has probably been happening the entire day and we just didn't notice it because lolgriefsense.

That scene took place before lunch. Hildegard didn't start losing grief to Aurora until the start of the training session at the very earliest, or after the training session at the very latest. It was working as a grief seed then, but now it's either being overpowered by Aurora or it's starting to act more and more like a soul gem. It could be either at this point, really, given what we know.

Also, did I mention how close we got to trapping half the hospital in a witch barrier? If Homura wasn't with Mami, or if our path didn't cross over them, we would have hatched a witch right over the hospital, dragging in Kyousuke, Sayaka, and just about everyone we care about who isn't a magical girl. It would have been like the Margot situation, only ten times worse. We really dodged a bullet there.

Also, did I mention how close we got to trapping half the hospital in a witch barrier, Oriko style? If Homura wasn't with Mami, or if our path didn't cross over them, we would have pulled in both Kyousuke and Sayaka, along with who knows how many other people, into a witch barrier. We really dodged a bullet there.

More like they smacked us upside the head, making the bullet miss.

You don't know that. We haven't been paying attention to Hildegarde or Aurora in that manner at all. While it's possible the lack of grief in Hildagardes seed exacerbated the absorption, this could very well have been going on even before that. The transfer of an amount equal to a few grief marbles at a time would've been a negligable amount considering the capacity of both seeds.

I'm guessing we're putting off further conversation until next update- because with Sayaka, we're definitely mentioning the Kyubey thing, we want to reassure Mami, and we're overdue for a serious talk with Madoka at some point.

True, but I really doubt it has been taking place for that long, otherwise Aurora should have hatched much earlier. In any case, all of this is just rampant speculation until we get more information.

What is the original context of the star trek clip?

Sentient sausages from space are attacking the Enterprise.

It was written as a protest episode due to the writers getting extremely low pay but labor laws not allowing them to strike, so they basically wrote a few batshit insane episodes that the production company was forced to produce or basically lose all the ad revenue that comes with airing new episodes of very popular shows.

A) I don't believe you

B) The writers did go on strike, that's why we got so many Wesley episodes in a row, because they had a bunch of Wesley plots pre-written meant to be the B plots spread over a couple seasons to develop his character arc.
