He does understand ethics, he just doesn't get humans. Why does the location of your Soul matter? It's a triviality, to his mind, just like suffering: He's literally never experienced it, so he can't possibly understand why converting positive energy to negative energy (Hope to Despair) is something to worry about. It's efficient, and humans are silly beings who get upset over something like Grief and Suffering. What do those matter, anyway?

On the other hand, he has no trouble understanding that it's important to faithfully complete contracts: It's what he built the entire Meguca System on.
Which we just have his word for when he's attempting to cause Sayaka to despair. He gets why humans consider it unethical, he just doesn't care. If he could dodge contracts and get the same or better payment, I think he would.

I'll let twelve sum it up:

Are you guys actually serious?:V

Let's stop for minute and assume that talking to him is an actual workable plan. Why would you want to do it now? Poor Mami is probably going to have a panic attack just being near to him. We might be able to take anything he dish out, but our friends aren't as mentally stable.

He's an amoral sonovabitch for certain, but he won't violate the terms of a contract. Probably not even in spirit: The fact no one bothers to ask for full details in triplicate isn't his fault.

He won't violate them from his own internal logic- at least when asked about it. That doesn't mean anyone else will necessarily agree with that logic or that it'll be at all acceptable as an outcome to us.

Taking it to another room and asking it why it came isn't going to reveal anything on our part by itself, or cause any kind of major disaster. I really don't get the opposition to figuring out what it wants us to think it's thinking.

He deliberately let Kyoko die because of the possibility of her getting in the way of Madoka contracting.

Sabrina and our friends are major obstacles to her contracting right now. It isn't exactly his style, but I can definitely see him actually going through some effort to get us out of the way.

[X]"Antimagic is hard to replicate...I don't suppose you know why Oriko's Soul is looking like a Klein Bottle, do you Incubator?"

Oh boy. My favorite topic to come back to, treating Kyubey like he's Satan with the Black Plague. Kyubey will not actively screw you over if you ask a simple question. That's just your paranoia. He will screw you over if you give him a legitimate reason to, like actively being hostile towards him (like Homura) or if there's a really good reason to (Madoka).

Don't trust Kyubey 100%, but also don't isolate him when he can possibly give some insight on what is happening. The worst case scenario would be him saying he doesn't know what's going on. He's not going to tell every girl in Japan, "Yo there's a seer whose power is malfunctioning in Mitakihara. Kill her."

No, the worst case scenario is him using this as a conversational opening to talk to everyone, hint to Madoka that someone's dying and we've asked him for help, and generally giving us dangerous misinformation.

Pls don't bully Kyubey, he can halp.

To which we explicitly tell Madoka that we have it covered and are making progress, and we have access to a healer. If she still wants to contract, we tell Madoka what will happen if she contracts, as in planet-destroying Witch.

Kyubey will find out about Oriko either way. He knew immediately what was happening with Kyouko when her magic malfunctioned. He's probably seen this happen several times.

While I don't disagree with all the people voting for throwing Kyuubey out of the window, couldn't we at least make some sort of appointment with it? Sooner or later we will have to deal with Kyuubey, wouldn't it be better i it was on our own terms?

Kyuubey is interested in us and our powers, because we are an anomaly and throwing it out of windows or punting it out of sight won't work forever.

I'd rather talk to it as little as possible, forever, and that involves not tying ourselves down to a conversation we shouldn't want to have.

Why would we want to give it an opening to do this?

He already almost certainly knows roughly what the issue is- if he knows how to fix it, he won't tell.

There really isn't anything we can do about that. He has telepathy, and I don't think that meguca can actually shut him out. Not unless we can get the an anti-kyubey field up really quickly. And keep in mind that grief hax knocks us out for a bit.

Luckily he's generally pretty reactionary.

So we should just get rid of him rather than needlessly exposing ourselves to a headache for no benefit.

I will gladly vote for a less confrontational way of getting Kyubey out of the room, but being openly aggressive toward him is asking for problems later.

Except we actually can't. He has multiple bodies and has telepathy. We can come up with a grief solution, but that's really temporary and limited.

So long as we don't do anything that actually inconveniences him, I doubt that he'd care. Well, he'd know that we hate his guts, but we're already pretty bad at hiding that.

Kyubey is literally incapable of feeling anger. There's no reason to worry about it being "mad".
But doing that, will make him question why we are openly hostile to him, that could link us to Homura, from there he could try to investigate Homura, find out about her being a time traveler, then drop the Potentialbomb against Homura, like Canon.

Of course this is only me being paranoid, but to me diplomacy will always be the right choice.

We don't give him a conversational opening and he'll back off for the moment. It's just how he operates.

See that's where we disagree
He's the enemy. THE enemy of PMAS, really. I don't see that working out for us.

...He already knows all that.

Diplomacy with Kyubey literally is impossible.
