Oh, hey, Grief Lantern Ring idea might actually have some merit, after all. Mind, it'd be enchantment based, instead of purely Grief based, and probably limited to drawing Grief, but wouldn't that be a thing?

Every meguca having one meguca Ring in one hand, and one Grief Ring on the other hand.

"Yes, it's like an unlimited Grief Seed, don't you have one yet? It pulls Grief in, then makes it disappear over time*. You just need to make sure to use it once in a while, or it can vanish**, and you'd need to go through the hassle of getting a new one again."

* assuming we can 'delete' Grief,
** or that the Ring would use the Grief as a magic source to sustain itself.

Oh, you know, feathers, Incubators, social and the fact that we're only two weeks old and have the fate of the lives of all the magi on earth on our shoulders.:V

2 weeks in story, and sometimes we act as if Walpurgisnacht was coming next week...

Oh yeah, the Grief Lantern Corps idea. I forgot about that...

But let's connect the rings directly to the central battery, or to multiple scattered smaller batteries...

Divine Gate Collaboration Event - Puella Magi Wiki

Here's more information. So basically Pia is a wind demon from another setting, and she wished to make friends, which apparently was powerful enough to cause a crossover false world that pulled in the five main girls. It's basically Alt!Rebellion, as Pia feels kinda bad about it and tries to send everyone home.

Each of the girls is associated with an element: Madoka with void, Homura with darkness, Sayaka with water, Mami with light, Kyoko with fire, and Pia with wind.

Madokami happens when Madoka wishes to save everyone, uber-attacking Divine Gate and resetting the multiverse, but not after comforting Pia and everyone assures her they're friends forever.

Madoka the Roaring Beast is associated with a story snippet in which Madoka resonates with the demon world and transfigures into one instead of becoming a Magical Girl, apparently the failure state if Pia doesn't destroy the crossover false world. Her ascension to demonhood is celebrated by an unnatural rainfall resonating with a kind and gentle feeling. The Netherworld becoming just a little bit less brutal...

There's also a Homura "Dark Love Fairy", image spoilered below.

Another failure state character. Seeing Madoka being acclimating to the Demon World causes Homura to basically go "You are worth Hell" and throws herself fully into it, apparently a parallel path to Homucifer. She gains control of the Crossover World and doesn't let anyone destroy it, cherishing her new heaven and hell with Madoka.

for a sec i thought that was sorceress homura and then i read the post and yup makes sense homura would go that route.

though that begs the question, what would demon sabrina be in that timeline given that both her parents are demons?

A One-Winged Angel wearing black and blue?

I have been trying to compile a list of a win conditions for the question, both agreed-upon and disputed, as well as a brief summary of reasons for and against, so people who don't want to dig through the thread have some idea of where the main disputes lie. I may have missed a number, so any help would be appreciated.

I have taken a number of these directly from Sasha's post on win conditions, and also some stuff peppered throughout the threads. It's still very rough at the moment, but I'll fix it and add links! ...Eventually.

1. Keep the main cast alive and happy (including ourselves).
This one's relatively straightforward, and not disputed (though prioritising this against other conditions leads to the notorious 'social vs science' disputes).

2. Deal with Walpurgisnacht and Feathers.

Again, not really disputed, though we have little idea of what Feathers is.

3. Eliminate Magical Girl dependence on Grief Seeds in a manner which persists after our death.

Not disputed, though the mechanism for this is.

Dewitching: one proposed mechanism is to figure out how to dewitch and make Puellae Magi independent of grief seeds via some system. Some people have criticised that as insufficient for a number of reasons, one being that the Incubators would see this as an opportunity to Witch some girls multiple times.

I have included a criticism from Sereg which I believe is representative of the objection here.

The proposed solution is to somehow make Witching impossible (the suggested mechanism varies, and is covered in conditions 4., 5., 6. and 7. below).

4. Stop all contracts (one of: with humans, on Earth, everywhere) with the Incubators.

Curiously, not much discussion on this has happened (that I've been able to find). I think it's disputed, or at least not in everyone's necessary win conditions.

5. Establish leverage over and/or kill the Incubators.

This has been suggested as the only way Sabrina will be able to put a system in place that will persist after her death. Related to but not the same as 4. Disputed.

The main reasons for dispute are 1) whether Sabrina is powerful enough and 2) necessity, as the Incubators can be considered quite passive. Some discussion here, and posts around it.

Some people believe that Sabrina should consider negotiating with the Incubators. This is unpopular, however.

6. Ascend to godhood.

Some people consider this the only way to rewrite the karmic laws of the universe. Disputed. [I'm unfamiliar with this argument so I will clarify later]

7. Madokami wish [FALLBACK]

Some people consider Madoka making the wish she made at the end of the series to be a viable fallback plan. Disputed.

8. Stop the heat death of the universe.

Technically an Incubator goal, but then, look at my avvie. :p No-one seems to care about this as much as the other points, so this is disputed, I suppose.

As far as I can tell this is a question of scope: many of proponents for this are also proponents for 5.

@Firnagzen, can this be indexed under Useful Information, please? Thanks. :)

Or maybe she'd look exactly the same.

*Meeting*

"Hey."

"Hey."

"So... What's up with you?"

"Eh, nothing much. System Breaker?"

"System Saver. Hug all teh megucas?"

"Yes. Goddess moms?"

"Devil moms. Absent-?"

"- moms? Kind of?"

"... Yes. Can I hug your Mami?"

"... Where is Mami?"

"Oh, she excused herself muttering something about there being two of us."

"... Yes."

"What?"

"Let's go. You're gonna help me hug teh Mumi."

"Yes."

"I wish to be unbeatable in combat coming or going, present or gone, inside or outside, against enemies mundane or supernatural, using means mundane or supernatural, individually or in combination."
I've picked out one already, anything that can be termed a doorway/etc is neither inside nor outside so will negate the advantage.
Traps and poison probably get through as well, maybe also anything not intended for her.

You forgot the coming/going clause, so the doorway trick won't work unless she isn't moving through the doorway. It will work if she's just standing there, but not if she's moving through the portal.

An omake I made for Meguca Micro Empire Quest, describing girls who are on a par with Homura abusing timestop. They are intended as final bosses for continent sized landmasses. That specific wish was for the India Meguca final boss. A transparent expy of Sabrina was the North American one.

You can find the omake in the omake list under "Legendary Magical Girls" and "Part 2" of the same, but I highly reccommend giving the entire quest a go.

Ah yes, the Serene Imperium...

What happened to the quest? Is it merely dormant, or is it dead?
