We probably will, actually. try, that is.

Honestly, I don't see the benefits of witching to be particularly big. I just started with the "cold and practical" stuff to try and stay away from my own personal feelings. I think I failed.
Basically, it boils down to "does it permakill them? no? then it's inherently better than killing them". for me, at least.

See above.

personally, I think killing someone would do essentially the same.

I'm glad you feel that way.

you're not wrong.

None of you are wrong.

This is just how I feel.

I know I'm a minority of one.

I accept that.

I still view knowingly killing someone as the absolute lowest of all possible lows.

This view is not going to change at any point, ever.

I'm going to bed now, goodnight.

You say not permakilling is always better than permakilling. But what do you expect to do once you dewitch them? They're just going to be *more* crazy, and we'd be back on square one, except now the chances of peaceful take-down are even smaller.

Besides, rocking is ALWAYS an option, as long as witching and/or gemsploding is too. With the same amount of effort or less.

It won't. I guarantee it. Sabrina will never forgive herself for it, and it'll weigh on her forever, but she can rationally justify it if she's ever pushed into that position. It's something that can be morally justified to protect other people.

Witching someone though? That's doing Kyubey's work without having the excuse of having no empathy. There will be no justifying it. No excusing it. No way to possibly tell herself that while it was a compromise of her values, it was unavoidable and necessary.

She will never, ever, be able to forget the fact that she put someone into hell by her own hand when she had the option to atleast end their suffering. She will forever know she had the choice between silence and neverending despair, and she chose the latter because it was convenient, or she acted out of anger, or she entertained the idea of human experimentation and she went through with it.

She can never, ever be able to say that she made a genuine effort to save all Magical Girls. She can never say her hand was forced, and she can never atone for it according to her established, canonical values system.

This is something that will witch Sabrina. It's one of the few things that can psychologically destroy her irrecoverably. It can legitimately end the quest.

Regardless of your personal value system, mere murder doesn't incur any of this.

Yea, if rocking is somehow hypothetically possible and not on the table. Not as a serious suggestion.

If the Soujous are irredeemable sociopaths, fucking gemsplode them because nothing else is ethical. We can't keep them prisoners forever and we can't ethically set them free because they're basically cartoon villains. It's not going to come to that because Firn's a good fucking writer.

Rocking > Sploding > The Third Reich > Kyubey's Shittery > Seeding.

Rocking is the best answer to problems we currently couldn't do anything about without murder.

Because they're from the Kazumi Magica series, which has been brought up quite a few times in the past few days.
  1. People believed that their Soul Gems should be taken away from them because they're clearly a threat.
  2. Others believed that they should be killed via breaking their Soul Gems because they've been shown to be possible sociopaths who collect the Soul Gems of other Magical Girls because they're pretty and like the challenge of it.
  3. Those in the third party want them to Witch-out for Science and so that Sabrina can possibly recover them from being a Grief Seed. Also, they seemed to believe that permakilling them was a worse fate than the other two possibilities.

clarification: worse than the second of those two possibilities.
And "science" had nothing to do with it. You may not agree with the position, but please don't deliberately cast it in a bad light.

Hello, what's going-

Oh no, what have I done...

...I shouldn't have mentioned making grief seeds. Now we have a Sayaka who is stubbornly advocating that...

...I am against seeding. That makes us no better than the Tokyo Six...

...I really didn't see this coming...

...I'm such an idiot...

 are you just generalizing or did I actually fail in conveying my point that badly?

(also, yes, I said I was going to bed, but I can't sleep, so you lot can't talk about me behind my back for a few hours yet :p)

I just want to point out that witching girls on purpose is literally what the villain of every Madoka canon and fan work does. Kyubey, the Tokyo Six, Niko, Kagari...

If we do end up doing it and this is a huge "if" , we'd better be able to change them back because if we can't then we've just condemned two girls to a brutal and horrifying hell that has warped and twisted their minds beyond recognition.

I don't think it's a question worth asking- this is literally going "do we torture girls into insanity to the point where they're no longer human...or not do that and save the world"?

...Sabrina felt bad about threatening to turn Kirika into a witch. What more then, if we go through with it albeit on someone else...?

(Sayaka is supposed to be a Hero of Justice, striving to help others around her. Not... this...)

I don't think we'll actually do it, ever. for several reasons, including, but not limited to: I am literally the only one here who would be willing to do that under any circumstances, I am only willing to do that under an extremely specific circumstance, said circumstance is literally impossible barring Diablos ex Machina of the grand-scale reality warping variety, and it would utterly break Sabrina.

Leave the thread for a while, then this happened. Also, alert fail.

BTW, is the voting still on, or is it locked already? I skipped the 10 pages, because 10 pages.
