I make that 12 for SWBJunko and 9 for UgolinoSayaka.
I'm counting 10 for the blue option.

Reaffirming my vote, SWB's, it's pretty much standard procedure to deal with somebody throwing a tantrum. We need to be patient with Ono until she actually realizes we're not going anywhere any time soon.

She's in the middle of an angry sort of denial; we need her to start thinking not of 'how we shouldn't be here', but rather, 'how can she make us not be here any more?' She needs to realize being angry doesn't help her, and move into a more bargain-like mindset. It takes patience, but I think it's the normal thing to happen; once she's burnt out of anger, she'll try actually talking with us, and probably feel like shit in general, but that's how we'll manage to communicate with her.

The other vote... It's literally biting bait. I know we're easy to control, but it's obvious bait.

I agree that engaging with Ono in an "annoyed tone" about the cronies comment is the pitfall in this voting round. It's both an emotional mistake on our part (OOC), and inviting a derail to talking about us (IC) in a context that in non-productive. I doubt Ono cares about the distiction between a bully's cronies and her friends. "Aren't they the same thing?" or some variation is likely to be what she thinks.

It's only productive in terms of our relationship with Mami and Homura, but that isn't what we need to be worrying about right now. Ono is our concern, because she is going to die. I fully intend to later vote for Sabrina to thank Mami for defending us (ribbon interrupt) and for defending us (verbally). Mami is a good friend, but it is counter-productive to all of our goals here to do so right now. Since we are acting in a leadership role right now (taking point) we have added responsibility to keep things on track.

Don't forget Homura. Since we seem to feel so strongly about it, we should apologize to both of them later for not answering Ono's remark.

And thank them just for putting up with all this shit for our sake.

I'm not too sure of that, she could just shut herself off and not talk at all.
I simply think moving from denial to anger to a more communicative mind set is the normal thing to do.

It might not work, all people are different, but it's worth trying. If she does shut up and tries to shut us off, she'll start thinking more, hard not to. Then we wait her out in silence, and see if she becomes more amenable to a chat.

SWB's vote doesn't help. It won't change her mindset other than to make things worse, and as an intentional provocation? I can't say just how bad an idea that seems.

It's taking the bait on our own terms, replying to it, and moving on. I am completely and utterly okay with that.

I don't think putting this off in favor of a nebulous 'oh we can do something actually in-character later when it actually matters' is the right call. At all. If you think Sabrina caring about Mami is the in-character choice, then why not vote for it rather than the beep boop socialbot vote that isn't all that social or useful in terms of Ono's mindset?

The whole point of the cronies thing is that Ono is willfully missing why Mami and Homura are here.

I'm sure Ono will be completely satisfied with that, and won't react in any way whatsoever.

What makes you think this is possible at all? It's unreasonable.

Ono's mindset will change with time. It's not something most people can sustain for too long.

Hm?

Tbh, I'm more offended by throwing clock at us than any insults (if it had hit us we might have had to use spot of healing magic and show weakness! the horror), and you don't see me voting to do anything about the clock either. Just lashing out in anger is all.

1. We're going to roll over her and get to the next part (actually engaging her for once and giving her answers and options) if she tries to keep on it.
2. Ono is literally brain damaged. She's by definition not most people.

More than that, the whole approach of the SWB vote is wrong. The first half is worse than useless/saying nothing in terms of how Ono will take it and the second half is basically waffle. Why do you think that will do anything other than make things worse? Burning Ono out is a hilariously bad call since the goal here isn't actually to get her to loathe us or never want to hear a thing we have to say again.

Reread the vote. It's exactly the same kind of nonsense that Ono's already brushed off, right after she's demanding very specific answers. Answers SWB doesn't want us to actually give.

When it comes to alternatives, I might be amenable to jumping to Sereg's or Cornybones's, even if they are not my current first preference:
(linkyhyrule's is ...interesting too, but I don't think it is the time)

Sereg:
[x] Homura, please put the gun away.
[x] Remain calm and allow her to speak or interrupt as she wishes. Then continue.
[x] I understand why you're angry, but your beef is with me. Don't insult my friends when they're only here to help you
[x] To answer your question: You need to listen to me in order to survive. You don't know how to survive as a magical girl. You are burning through an insane amount of magic. To put it in perspective, the average magical girl can go about a week before they need to use a grief seed. You are going through at least one grief seed a day even without fighting a witch. That's irregular and not sustainable. We can help you and we want to.
[x] Sorry about your clock.
[x] You don't need to like me, but you need to listen to me or you'll die. And we're not leaving till we're satisfied you won't die on us.
[x] What did Kyuubey tell you about me?

Cornybones:
[x] Sorry about your clock.
[x]-Explain why you broke into her house.
--[x] -When the Girl that almost died yesterday won't meet for the crash course on how to survive, we get worried.
[x]- Apologize for doing this in such an unpleasant manner.
--[x]...but refuse to leave until the Magical Girl subject is sufficiently covered. We can be stubborn to.
[x]-Support Mami's interjections into the conversation. When she says something, build off of it as appropriate and work with her.
[x] When Ono speaks and interrupts, stop and listen to her. Let her vent if she starts. Keep the dialogue going.
[x] Explain that she's under our protection. That we won't let her die. We don't let people hurt themselves.

You are quite vocal about expressing your dislike of SWB's vote. But what are your thoughts on them, @Ugolino?

Just misread something.

1. We're going to roll over her and get to the next part (actually engaging her for once and giving her answers and options) if she tries to keep on it.
Roll over her? Seriously? You're not even trying to work with what we have, just want everything to go right because you want it to?

Get to the next part? You mean trying to skip over to the part where she listens without actually trying to lead her there?
2. Ono is literally brain damaged. She's by definition not most people.
What. What.

More than that, the whole approach of the SWB vote is wrong. The first half is worse than useless/saying nothing in terms of how Ono will take it and the second half is basically waffle. The SWB vote is trying to treat Ono as a person, on the chance that she reacts to things as a person does.

'Burning out' emotional is simply the result of her being so angry. It's not gonna make her hate us, unlike trying to 'roll over her'.

There may be a little bit of personal prejudice at work here, but I also firmly believe SWB's slower, calmer approach is what works in social encounters. You shouldn't bludgeon your way through a conversation, and I especially think you shouldn't try to bludgeon your way through a conversation with someone whose magic has given them a bunch of associations with glass. That... That just has 'bad idea' written all over it.

Not anymore than showing up in her room rather than pretending we're at the door to her apartment. I'm just being consistent with sabrina's actions.
No, we showed up because she was going to get herself killed and we needed to save her. Literally stabbing her in the throat isn't just evil but also sociopathic and inconsistent. I mean, we showed up because we are going to make her listen to what we have to say about the dangers of the job, not because we wanted to torture her, which is, again, evil.

Edit: I feel like you're mad we took this course of action (too lazy to go back and check if you opposed it) and that you're expressing your anger through a purposefully bad vote, which is a poor way to address your concerns.

Read the vote, there is no stabbing of Ono involved, just stabbing near her throat.
I mean, okay that's better, but that really doesn't change the fact that we want her to listen, not be terrified of us. We broke in because we couldn't get her to listen any other way. It's still an entirely counterproductive, and frankly OOC action. Sabrina may be frustrated, but even when she threatens people, it's usually not by yelling at them.

Violence perceived is violence achieved. It still is a violent action, reinforcing the "Sabrina is a bully" idea. Also, do you think Mami will think well of us when we are threatening a disabled and helpless girl with violence?

Residue processing pt. 17
You bite back a flash of rage, an impulse to rip into Megane for that barb. Mami and Homura are hardly your 'cronies' - they're your friends. Your lip curls a little as you eye Megane, who seems intent of recklessly throwing her life away.

She almost reminds you of Akiko with her obstinate refusal to see sense - except that at least Akiko had the excuse, if you could call it that, of a Wish twisting her mind. Megane doesn't even have that sop of an excuse, or at least not that you know about.

She's just being a bitchy teenager who doesn't know the stakes.

You exhale slowly, discreetly catching Homura's eyes and shaking your head, no. She frowns sharply at you, easing her finger off the pistol's trigger - but she keeps a hold of it. As good as you'll get, you suppose. You step forward and touch Mami gently on her elbow, smiling at her when she glances back at you.

Another step forward, and you face Megane again. She's still struggling in the cocoon of ribbons, bound securely to the floor. She glares at you imperiously when she sees you looking. "Release me!" she demands again.

You take a deep breath, schooling your face to calme neutrality, and you meet Megane's eyes squarely. She, on the other hand, doesn't meet yours, pointedly moving her gaze to a point a handspan above your head.

"Miss Ono," you say, trying not to let your annoyance bleed into your tone. "I'm sorry I had to break into your home." You pause, eyeing the girl and waiting to see if she responds.

She doesn't say anything, eyes still fixed at that same point above your head.

You sigh. "I understand that you feel slighted that I cancelled our appointment without warning, earlier," you say.

That gets a response. "I'm sure you are," Megane says, eyes refocusing on you. "That's why you simply dropped me, right?"

"Yes, I am," you respond bluntly. "I am sorry. I had to handle matters that were literally life and death, twice in a row."

"Life and death," Megane repeats, imitating your voice. "Such a busy life you lead."

"Yes," you say, folding your arms. "Life and death. Just like what I need to tell you now."

Mami steps up beside you. "It's true, Miss Ono," she says. "I was... not doing well earlier, and one of our friends was trapped by a Witch."

Megane sniffs doubtfully, tossing her perfectly coiffed hair so that the black ringlets tumble almost artfully against the brilliant gold of the binding cocoon.

You sigh again, pinching your nose and closing your eyes for a moment. You open your eyes again after a moment, taking in her modest bedroom, with its equally modest furnishings, all trapped in the fossilized grey of Homura's timestop.

You continue when it becomes obvious that Megane's not going to say anything more. "I apologise that I needed to bother you about the meeting today," you say, pausing to see if that elicits any response. You continue after a moment of silence. "I needed to talk to you today because you don't know what you need to know to survive as a magical girl."

"You've already told me," Megane says, starting to stuggle at her bonds again. "Now leave me alone and stop telling me what to do."

You shake your head slowly. "Maybe I did. And I apologise for intruding against your will because if I don't, you would die. You Soul Gem would fill, break, and you would be gone."

"You've already told me," the girl repeats. "Now go away."

"I'm not going to leave until I'm satisfied you're taking me seriously, Miss Ono," you say. You're quite proud of yourself. You haven't shouted at her once, so far.

"Like Sendai, I'm sure," she cuts you off. "I'm sure you didn't leave until everybody toed the line."

... well then.
