My apartment just has a rotaty thing to lock it from the inside. You only need a key if you want to lock it from the outside. Is this unusual?
Oh, I wouldn't know. Around where I live, those rotary things are only found in public restrooms. Private restrooms too, sometimes.

I didn't know they put those on normal doors.

"And... I'm concerned about how quickly her Soul Gem is darkening."

Homura exhales a slow breath into her stew. "Her magic," she offers. "She has it running constantly."

"Oh, did you check on her?" Mami asks with a frown. "That's not a smart thing to do. Her magic, I mean."

Homura shrugs fractionally, lapsing back into silence, spoon darting between the bowl and her mouth.

"I think we need to talk to Miss Ono," Mami says, biting her lip and looking down at her bowl. "It's... not wise."

"Yeah," you agree. "Sooner rather than later."

Mami nods, looking concerned. "It's still early tonight, so... maybe?"
Oh crap...yeah, we should probably check in with Ono tonight. If we don't go to see her in person, we damn well need to telepathy-call her and specifically ask her to tell us how dark her gem is. Since she won't answer any other kind of "how are you" question honestly.

I don't think an MG constantly using magic can even go a full day without witching. Did we leave her with a clear seed or a normal one? We should probably throw in a question about how many times she's used the seed so far, as well, just to be sure.

EDIT: Also, Firn: the link in the post is broken. Just gets 404'd.

Weird. It's working for me now.

"I will be doing some stocking up tomorrow," Homura says. "For Walpurgisnacht."

... Stocking up for Walpurgisnacht. Which means going... shopping.

"... Can I join you for that?" you ask, mental voice breathlessly eager.

An air of faint surprise permeates the telepathic link.

"You... may?" Homura replies, sounding puzzled. "That would make it more convenient...?"

"Great!" you say, grinning to yourself as you bound across another gap between buildings. "Let me know when!"

"OK?" Homura says.

"Look, I'm looking forward to it, OK?" you say.

"... OK?" Homura repeats.

You snort. "Ah, whatever. See you soon, Homura," you say.

"See you," Homura echoes.
Firnagzen said:
Almost simultaneously, Homura's voice sounds inside your head. "Sabrina."

"Yes, Homura?" you reply telepathically. You continue smiling at Mami, squeezing her hand. "Would you like to pick something, though?" you ask her.

"I, ah, maybe practice with our powers?" she suggests. "You've been experimenting, right? You could... show me what you've done? If you want?"

"Do you still want to raid the Yakuza tonight?" Homura asks, voice flat.

"Yes, I still do," you say to Homura, standing. You keep hold of Mami's hand, and pull her to her feet, smiling warmly at her. She smiles back, and the two of you start heading out of the ice cream parlour.

You continue speaking to Homura as you walk down the streets, Mami close by your side. She seems content to just let you lead, her elbow bumping yours every so often as you thread through the slow ebb of early evening pedestrian traffic. "Or, well. Of course I do-" mom, "-Homura. I'm quite looking forward to it, really! Let me know when you're ready?"

Homura pauses for a moment before answering. "Noted."

"Alright. See you, then," you say.

"See you," Homura replies.
Is it so hard to believe?

I don't think I've ever seen a private door that didn't have a some means to lock it by hand once you were inside. Hell, many public doors I've seen are this way.

She sighs, the sound all but snatched away by the onrushing wind. "Cream stew."

"Ah, gotcha!" you say, smiling encouragingly at Homura. She sighs again, violet eyes sliding away from yours to stare off into the distance. before exchanging a look with Mami. She nods slightly at you, golden eyes dancing, and you don't need telepathy to know that you're both thinking the same thing. Mami beams up at you, before tucking her head against your shoulder with a contented noise. You smile fondly, hugging her with one arm.

... cream stew, though. Something niggles at your memory - you're pretty sure you've heard that before somewhere, though you can't quite place it right now.

Cream stew is also Madoka's favorite food.

EDIT: Aaaand I got beaten ages ago on the last page, that's what I get for skimming rather tahn reading.

Ahhh happy times again are good. Song choice can be a little foreboding because of what happened last time that song ended. Hm. Not really sure what to vote for. I mean, yes, of course, but should we say anything else? Feels like the update will be short if we don't specify a topic or two.

[] Of course.
[] Ask exactly which locations we're hitting. Are we just cleaning out the Yakuza, or are we hitting up the JDSF too?

There are probably more/better topics to bring up, but we should think of some.

I could honestly say I've been waiting for this moment all day long. It was the part of the day to look forward to.

But you know, those exact words probably should've kept for a joke vote? Or am I shadowrunning?
I'm willing to change to your suggestion if people are really worried. I'm just trying to subtly act like Mom.

That's kind of difficult seeing as I haven't voted yet.
[q] How many times are you gonna ask that?
[] Hug teh Homu.
[] HUG TEH HOMU
[] HUG HOMURA!
I think simple works best.

[X] Of course.

Though... Maybe we could add something else to the vote? Topics to talk about? Maybe Homu could use help setting up her bombs? Does she do that magically?

[x]Sure! Sounds great.
-[x]I've been waiting for this moment.
-[x]Bounce excitedly.
[x]Ask where we're headed.

Really not sure if we want to ask to drop out of timestop and let Mami know...gut instinct says yes, everything else is inclined towards 'no'.

Letting her know after the fact works too, right?

Re: Ono...I say we get Mami after the trip and go over either with her or as a trio for the Meguca 101 speech. Mami is best mentor figure.

According to a google search, "cream stew" has not appeared in the thread before this point. And I don't remember it from PMMM or Rebellion or any of the Manga. SynchronizedWritersBlock brought up the fact that it's Madoka's favorite food (based on a survey thing), but did any of us actually know about/remember that prior to this point? If Sabrina is remembering it, maybe she's remembering something from before she showed up critically injured at the start of the story?

[X] Of course.
