Heh.

Calling vote in about an hour.

...There is a in-unverse explanation for that bit of meta-knowledge anyways. Witches are pure grief given form, right? So, it stands to reason, our character, who has absolute control over grief, would probably have more than a few subpowers related to witches. Which might include an inbuilt encyclopedia of existing witches.

Except that it's a bit of a stretch considering we'd probably never have been near a Walpurgisnight...but I doubt we'd need that justification anyway. :D

Unforeseen Consequences pt. 10
"I, I- The stage-constructing witch (alias: Walpurgis Night/real name: unknown); her nature is helplessness. She symbolizes the fool who continuously spins in circles. The witch's mysteries have been handed down through the course of history; her appellation is 'Walpurgis Night.' She will continue to rotate aimlessly throughout the world until she completely changes the whole of this age into a drama. When the doll's usual upside-down position reaches the top part of the witch, she completely roils the civilization on the ground in a flash through her gale-like flight," you intone, as if reading off a book. The punctuation, the parentheses, are practically audible.

Homura actually blinks in surprise, head jerking backwards slightly.

A long, awkward pause ensues.

"I... I'm not sure how I know that," you say, finally. You brush your hair back again, and continue, "I- yes. Yes, I know of Walpurgisnacht, and what it can and will do."

"I have only been able to find out what I know about Walpurgisnacht through extensive research," Homura pronounces, now glaring at you with... what? Anger? Curiosity? "I am interested to know how you know that."

"I'm sorry, I do-"

"Yes, so you've said." Homura's lips flatten out as she clearly puts this tidbit aside for now. "You know what I mean when I say that it will be coming to this city in about a month."

"It will threaten everyone here, and probably destroy the city," you say, gesturing around you.

"Yes. Will you be around?"

You exhale slowly before answering. "Yes. Yes, I will."

"Good. Then, given that you don't remember anything, do you have anywhere to stay?"

You raise an eyebrow at what seems to be distinctly uncharacteristic concern from Akemi 'Murderface' Homura, but you answer warily, "No, I do not."

"There is enough room in my apartment to provide lodgings," Homura states. The unspoken offer is clear enough.

- [] You'll be returning to the others next update. Write-in conversational direction.

I took the liberty of answering 'yes, you'll be staying' in the interests of not having a mostly pointless vote, since I doubt anyone actually intends to skip out on Brazilian nut.

Oh, and by the way, regarding meta-knowledge?

I'm a great believer in the butterfly effect. An action now will have consequences later... As an example, Sayaka might not happen upon Charlotte's Grief Seed at the hospital because she might not go to visit Kywjibo at exactly the right time.

[x]Pause. You don't have that many other options.
[x]"...Thank you."
-[x]Confused gratitude, and slight wariness.
[x]Homura...We've never met before, right?
[x]"We should talk to Mami and the others, okay?"
-[x]Bring Homura and talk to Mami.
--[x]We're okay. Tell them that she just asked some questions...and that she offered to let us stay with her. Do they mind if everyone stays together for a bit while we talk?

Yanked Dirt's write-in.

[x]Pause. You really don't have too many other appealing options.
[x]"...Thank you."
-[x]Gratitude.
[x]Homura...We've never met, right?
[x]"We should tell Mami and the others. Come on, let's go!"

So, thanks to Ugolino, I'm reminded that you guys will probably be returning to Mami and the others the next update. Write in some conversational direction for that, too.

Oh, and it's not entirely true that you don't have other options. You could pull a Kyouko, or Mami would likely let Sabrina stay if you asked nicely.

Homura flat out offered lodging. It'd be pretty rude to decline her and later ask Mami.
She'd live if we did, and any social faux-pas can be blamed on having roughly the memory and social skill of a block of swiss cheese.

Regardless, we almost certainly should take the offer, but take active steps to a)start mending bridges in the Mitakihara group, b)make sure we don't get mentally lumped in with Homura as "a potential threat one good excuse away from ribbon bondage/being shot at". Going back and talking to Mami'll help with that.

If Mami actually offers in response though...we may want to take Mami's offer, and start trying to mend bridges between them. IC, Homura scares Sabrina and for good reason. OOC, going full Mami-student is a great way to get influence/help Mami's own issues plus mending bridges might work better from that side of the fence.

On the other hand, a benefit of lodging with Homura over Mami is that we could be relatively sure that our roommate would neither die, kill herself, or try to kill us.

She wouldn't do that without provocation or a very good excuse. Mami would want to murder her since killing off a newly contracted magical girl for apparently no reason is going so far into "lol amoral magical girl" territory it's not even funny. Plus, Madoka saw everything.

We may want to go with Mami as emotional support/replacement student/because Mami really, really is in little danger of dying except because of her own emotional issues and we can tackle those more easily there.
