THEN I take 1 just because Kyuubey IS a villian by any sensible definition of the term

[X] It's about being a magical girl.
[X] Kyuubey paints a rosy picture of what being a magical girl is about, but he leaves out a lot of details. And, as they say, the devil is in the details.
[X] One such detail is exactly what happens to you when you become a magical girl.
[X] Your soul is actually removed from your body and placed in a piece of jewelry — a Soul Gem.
[X] Your body still works, but the thing that is 'you' is a separate object. Take it too far away and your body stops working.
Harsh, but we have to.

We also said "lichbomb" to Homura in a recent update.

I'm just glad we never called grief seeds soul gems.
Because that would be hilarious as we watch a full-blown tetris happen right in front of us. Which may end up becoming a Mexican standoff, considering that Homu-Homu has (hopefully) learned her lesson from the last time.

@Kinematics 3 is the best I think. We are here to talk about the lichbomb. Also focusing on danger (#2) while important, will not convince them about anything. Sayaka and Madoka both see Mami die, and they both still contract. Sayaka also probibly belives helping people is more important than the danger I think. I am all for showing evil QB.

Please don't take them as real votes yet. They need to be cleaned up, and more thought given to how everyone will react to how things are said. I'd like comments on the presentations, first.

Sorry, but if you say so... Anyhow, it breaks my heart to tell them the truth, but...
What do we do if they ask about Kyuubey not being that bad , since he provides protectors for the innocent against the witches ( a likely Sayaka reaction, IMHO) ?

[] Let Mami take the lead if she feels up to it, but don't push her if she doesn't.
[] Drop the lichbomb
[] Tell them about QB and the fact that he keeps that tidbit hidden from potential contractees, and that he likes to lie by omission.
[] Observe their reaction.

The Lichbomb is kind of a big deal.

Oh, it gets better. When we almost said it (well, it got as far as being part of a vote at one point - who knows whether Firnagzen would have put it in or not, since the past slip-ups haven't been serious), it was during the negotiations. So we'd have tetrised not only Mami (and Kirika, but who knows how she'd react) but also the entire University Group, plus Rin, plus the entire Sendai group since you know they're going to demand to know what's up. Akiko might have ended up as the sanest remaining meguca.

Option 4:

Play up the secrets.

[] It's about being a magical girl.
[] A magical girl is all about secrets. Secrets that are kept from others, and secrets kept from you. Kyuubey is a master at playing with secrets, but there are some you need to know before you even consider thinking about making a wish.
[] One of the first is this — a Soul Gem. It's where your magic resides; but more than that, it's where you reside — your self, your soul. This is, quite literally, the soul of a magical girl. This is me.
[] Your body can be torn to shreds — and you will feel every bit of that — but you can still keep functioning as long as your Soul Gem is safe, because that's where you are now. Sort of. In a metaphorical, true self sense, I guess. I mean, your body is still you, and you're still human, but the Soul Gem is also you. Well, it's tough to deal with, and it can be tough to deal with others once you realize this.
[] And it's not like that's the only secret you have to deal with. There are many things he won't tell you about being a magical girl, and many things you may not even realize you've lost until you look around and they aren't there anymore. The people you care about, and the people who care about you... Don't think that a wish will necessarily make things better.

Mami asks "are there any other secrets I don't know about?" Quick, wat do?

This also could be good. As long as the "do not and under no corcumstances trust Kyuubey" message gets across, I am happy.

Is there a way to tell them Kyubey's the one making the witches, too, without witchbomb... Welp! Hopefully this doesn't become relevant any time soon!

Heck, even just asking who we've seen torn in half to know this gets into dangerous territory, because then we tell her (no matter how much we soften it, this is how Mami will see it and she's not wrong) it's her ex-friend Masami, who ended up in that situation because she drove her away.

One of the most difficult things about this conversation is navigating around the things we're not telling Mami.

Would like to put out an opinion that we should keep an eye out for a QB interrupt. Us talking about this subject almost always seems to invite his unwanted presence in other quests so I don't know if we should be prepared for this event or not.

[]Ask if she needs a moment.
[]Let Mami take the lead if she feels up to it, but don't push her if she doesn't. Reassure her.
[]If we need to take over/make sure these points get covered...
-[]There's something important about being a magical girl that we need to tell you.
-[]Kyubey takes girls' souls and puts them in the Soul Gems. So that we can fight for him better, no matter how badly we get hurt. If you take a girl's Soul Gem away, she...shuts down. We've seen both happen.
-[]He doesn't tell girls about it in advance. He didn't tell Mami, or anyone else. We had to find out on our own. He's a liar by omission. He doesn't feel anything at all, and he definitely doesn't care how we feel about what he's done.
-[]I'm sorry, but you two both need to know not to trust Kyubey. He isn't your friend, he doesn't care what happens to you, and he'll try to trick you into contracting.
