[x] Telepathy Mami and Homura. Warn them you're going to do something with your grief really quick. If their witch senses go off, that's just you.
[x] Find an unobserved location. Refill Aurora to an 'unused' state, and store a spare 800 marbles in the sling bag. Call for Kyuubey.
[x] Ask him to verify whether he can process a supercompressed version of the grief you're holding, using a small sample.
-[x] If so, compress the remainder and deposit in Kyuubey. Possibly ask a couple of the questions below, based on Kyuubey's behavior.
-[x] If not, deposit as much as is feasible in the time you have remaining before school lets out.
[x] If we have to take the time to do the slow deposit, ask some questions while waiting. Be evasive in answering questions it poses back.
-[x] How many marbles does it take to equate to the energy you'd gain from one grief seed? (Only a numeric answer is valid.)
-[x] How do you get the energy from a grief seed? Do you extract the grief, and is the extraction destructive? Is that why you need to keep collecting more? (Only the question of whether the process is destructive is of any interest.)
-[x] How many grief seeds do you collect per day, worldwide? (Only a numeric answer is valid.)
[x] Head back and wait for everyone.
-[x] Light conversation.
--[x] Ask Mami about the archery club she used to attend.
-[x] Ask Mami if it's alright to invite everyone to her apartment. Nagisa too.
--[x] Call Momoe Shin if Mami gives the OK. Ask how Nagisa is doing. Ask to invite her over.

Yes, Kyubey is scary.

But he's also our best source of information for a lot of things.

Be careful - but that's not the same thing as avoiding him entirely.

(Also, I don't think we have the luxury of being stringently ethical with our Witch experiments. We definitely can't both not ask Kyubey things and be super careful with what we do with the Grief Seeds, we just don't have enough information. I really like the idea of refilling one of the Grief Seeds; it is very, very unfortunate if there's someone in there, but we just don't have any other options if we want to start bringing people back.

Revised my questions to this, for extra clarity:
[] If we have to take the time to do the slow deposit, ask some questions while waiting. Be evasive in answering questions it poses back.
-[] How many marbles does it take to equate to the energy you'd gain from one grief seed? (Only a numeric answer is valid.)
-[] How do you get the energy from a grief seed? Do you extract the grief, and is the extraction destructive? Is that why you need to keep collecting more? (Only the question of whether the process is destructive is of any interest.)
-[] How many grief seeds do you collect per day, worldwide? (Only a numeric answer is valid.)

Grief item that transcribes the target's thoughts on to paper?

Use on Kyubey while asking questions.

Might work.

We mentioned it as the project we were working on. :/
Oh yeah. Well, they're still being odd so we can't hand them out.

I don't wanna talk to it. You guys can vote for that. I'm not going to.

Kyubey exists as a tool for GMs to ruin their players' day. Rule #1 of PMMM questing.

It'd probably also explode if used on us-- the most powerful of hiveminds, the bandwagon

If you guys really think there's no real difference between Hildegarde and Aurora then we're going to have to scrap giving out clear seeds entirely. Filling the seed now or later is pretty much the same thing.

Better start looking into alternatives nowish.
So they behave weird; so what? They've behaved predictably so far. If they keep acting the same way, and we issue them with adequate warning of their properties, we've got no good reason not to hand them out.
The 'soul gem' like characteristics are tenuous, and being blown out of proportion. We have no strong evidence (and scant enough weak evidence) that they're any closer to a human soul than a normal grief seed.

More to the point, we kinda burned our bridges with the bunnycat
To what extent is this the case? The last time we saw Kyuubey was during Mami's lichbomb. Its last comment to us was that we're an excellent actress.
The gauntlet seemed to be heavier in Oriko's hands than ours, kind of like our hammer.
At no point in that scene is the gauntlet's weight mentioned at all. Oriko nearly dropped it, but her surprise was at the moment her hand made contact with it, not when the weight hit her.

.
...We called it an abomination, and I definitely don't regret us doing so, but any kind of actual relationship with it only works as long as it thinks we're not onto it and it can play us for a fool. Talking to it now that it knows otherwise is just asking to be on losing terms.

Besides, what would Mami's reaction be to us being on good terms with it, out of the blue? Making Kyubey out to be the enemy is in everyone's favor, largely because it actually is. As far as Sabrina's opposition goes, Kyubey is the closest thing to an actual threat right now.

Having Nagisa over today is going to play havoc on getting anything else done. Her uncle also won't be back from work until later, if he's working (Japan, mind you). I know we do need to see her, but maybe we can visit her instead? That lets us cut things short more easily and keeps our get-together neatly separate.

Sayaka, Madoka, and Homura are probably going to stay after Nagisa's gone. That lets us get to the unpleasant necessity that's the Lichbomb after taking Mami aside and asking her if she's up to it.

...has Firn said what the conditions are for a Magus inhabiting a body?

Because Hildegard and Auaurora Aurora are going to need those, and regrowing them may or may not be possible...

...I wonder if we could let them control some humanoid familiars? Once we finish those, I mean...

You know, it's too bad we don't really have a way to judge how much hope each wish brings into the world. We know that wishes being some amount of hope, and that the despair must also balance this hope. What is unclear is whether this despair is private only to the meguca in question. In addition, do the Ripple Effects of a wish tend to have balanced Hope and Despair, or do the resultant levels of Hope and Despair tend to sway one way or the other based on the nature and content of the wish?
