So reading the thread makes me want to design Sabrina's delivery constructs. In all seriousness, have we converged on a specific set of mission specifications?

Well what do we want the grief constructs to be capable of doing?

Alternatively, is the thread going to basically go with whatever seems the coolest?

Grief science?

Setting aside the grief seed / soul gem problem and focusing solely on grief control, there are some questions I want answered.

1. Grief to energy. Not just for the applications, but because it answers a bunch of hard science questions. Energy can be a property of matter, so if energy is transferred from grief to non-grief matter, then is the energy converted into something that is no longer grief? And how the fuck would grief-energy disperse when it leaves our control?
We know that the Incubator uses grief as an energy source, and presumably it loses the property of being grief somewhere along the way. We want to be able to perfectly and safely (safely is HUGE, remember that warning about antimatter that Firn gave a long time ago?) replicate that process, because it allows for grief disposal without involving the Kyubey. e: Not to mention it solves humanity's energy problem
2. Creation of grief from nothing. Our wish could potentially allow this.
3. Vanishing of grief. Not dispersal, not compression down to an indeterminately small size. I mean commanding grief under our control to cease to exist. If our wish doesn't allow this, it seems an interesting limitation that probably says something about the nature of grief. But by most readings of our wish, this should be possible.

If we're talking about grief science, I'd like to bring up a couple experiments.

Grief Rings: Can we create these? The could optimally be tightened around things, like our hammer's shaft, that would allow us to manipulate various objects by proxy (THE HAMMER OF THOR CHOOSES THE WORTHY!)

Grief Thread: Can we create small, finely manipulable grief threads? Can we weave them together? Can we make a hat? Would perhaps allow manufacturing of complex objects.

Can we surrender control of grief voluntarily? Can we make a battle helmet like Magneto? Can we turn our wings into a blowing hood, cloak, and cape?

Spoiler alert: the answer to all these questions is probably yes.

Because eviscerating everything with Grief is infinitely superior. If you have a hammer and an omni-tool that can literally do anything including 'be a hammer', you don't need the goddamn hammer.

I kind of think of it as symbolism. "When all you have is a hammer" tends to describe our grief control pretty well so far.
