This is my semi-monthly reminder that we still need to find out what happens when grief outside our control is allowed to coalesce.
Also, if it's possible for us to release our grip on grief that's still within our 100m range, we should do that when we test the above. That way, should some abomination spawn, we won't even have to chase it down to grab it again.
Also, once we know what the minimum density of grief is for whatever it's trying to do, we can dispose of grief by just releasing it at a controlled rate below that limit. This is probably something we shouldn't do often unless it's some sort of emergency and we have just too damn much grief, since Coobs won't like us wasting energy, but it's best to have the option if we need to do an emergency grief dump or Coobs stops taking our calls.
Also, ring of solid grief. Our finger.
The question of whether solid grief is going to cacklingly consume our face has caused too many arguments, the unwillingness of the thread to try it under combat situations without a definitive, clear-cut answer not based on extrapolation has closed off too many options and strategies, and now we actually have a day for Science to figure this out. We have put this off too damn long.
