Technically no. If we despair badly enough, Firn will quite happily write that bad end.
It'd have to get to the point where we're in so much despair that we're griefing-out faster then we can self cleanse though. :V
Or if we just give up I guess, but Sabrina is heavily influenced by the mindset of the voters.

You think that a Homura or a Mami death won't witch us at this point? The quantity of grief in our soul gem has never been something we remain consciously aware of, even if we can detect it. And the sentiments of the thread seem to translate directly to grief for us. We've been surprised more than once by how much we've accumulated. And might I add, people in grief spiral don't ask for help, and that likely includes help from themselves.

e: Let's just never let this happen, ok?

Seriously, Firn won't make Sabrina witch out unless most of the playerbase falls into despair or freaks out.

Remember the Oriko arc? How it ended? That was the kind of reactions that may lead Sabrina to become Dedolere.

How much do you want to bet that all the Grief bending in the world won't save us if Mami were to die at any point?
It's about the only thing I could see doing us in, honestly.

We might be able to deal depending on where it happens update-wise.

Hopefully we won't be too busy annihilating whatever it is that ended our oujo to keep track of our Gem.

He did say something about Sabrina only having as much trauma as we want her to. She'll only lose it if we do.

Yeah, Grief spirals tend to be self-destructive, so I doubt we'd have the presence of mind, if any of our close friends died, to cleanse ourselves. I definitely know the thread would be full of hatred, anger, and- wait for it- despair if someone were to kill or witch out Mami.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'd press on.

Every time we lose someone, we'll try harder. Because to do otherwise is to let our loved ones' deaths be in vain.

They don't truly die until we give up, and let their lives have amounted to nothing.

I dunno... I think even when absolutely "overcome" with emotion, Sabrina will keep her gem clean- because that's what we'll be sure to vote for.

I can't really prove it, but I think she's more or less immune to witching out simply because I think that even in crushing despair cleansing would be second nature to her.

"If someone says it's wrong to hope, I will tell them that they're wrong every time. I could tell them countless of times!"
— SV as they stand defiant over Mami's corpse with all their righteous fury fueling the Grief they felt. Totally not taken from a certain pink haired girl.

What brought this morbid ass topic up?

Regardless, if we're ever gonna let Dedolere out, it had better be for Superpowers.

Anything less would just be disappointing.

Personally, I would be:

"There is no crack in the earth where you can hide. No depth beneath the sea you can dive. No mountain upon high that you can climb. Whatever you do, where you are, I will come for you. I will find you. And I will destroy you."

If we don't witch out for superpowers in the grand finale Ultimate Boss Fight of the quest, this entire journey was totally worthless.

Talking about Kyubey led to talking about the energy from our witching led to this.

Man, if we ever do get to a stage where witching out for superpowers is viable and not stupid that would genuinely be awesome.

Say, we haven't looked at anyone else's soul gem. What if our soul gem is the only one we can see a witch inside of, because we already are a witch? Sakura was right! :V

Oh god damn it. We never actually voted to look at everybody else's Gems to find out their Witch Names.

That would've been cool.

We did, we prodded at Mami's witch the first time we cleansed her, and I think we prodded Homura's witch too, though I can't be certain of that.
We felt Candeloro on two occasions.

Searching the story only thread only reveals one instance of Homulily and that was us asking Oriko about it.

Correction: It was us thinking about it when Oriko mentioned that the whatever the fuck it is that kills her isn't a Witch.

Random thought for the day: Witch names have to come from somewhere. Does that mean when kyubey makes a magical girl, it is also in charge of giving the witch a name? Like a parent naming their newborn.

Considering the black box, wild nature of magic in the setting, absolutely not imo.

The name probably comes from the same space as the Runes, the features of a Labyrinth, and the form and powers of a Witch.

And the Incubators probably didn't invent the runes, because that shit floats around in the weird space outside reality where Homura god friendzoned by God.
