Eh, it'd probably be a decent way to bring the mood up were Akiko not borderline Catatonic right now. Can't exactly cuddle a kitten if you are barely coherent of your surroundings, you know.

Hold on to the idea, though. Going to a kitten petting cafe will probably make for a good unwinding session after this is over.
You mean tomorrow, right? Kirika's dropping asleep and I doubt we're doing much better.

We're supposed to hit the zoo anyway, just make it a petting zoo. Madoka'll love that.
It occurs to me that google would be helpful here

*searches how to handle people in shock*
We're totally going to desensitize Akiko by exposing her to witches she'll have to help hunt, but that's for later.
I don't think there's much we can do right now that won't make the situation a whole lot worse.

Waving a Seed under her nose like smelling salts is funny, but probably not actually going to help
It'll give her something to cuddle during her descent further into madness.
Stray thought:
[] Cleanse Akiko as needed.
Aw, fuck, we're not gonna do that. That'll likely take all night. They have the seeds to spare, we can refresh them tomorrow.

Actually, leaving this in Sendai's capable* hands and going to sleep is starting to sound better and better.

*By 'capable' I don't actually mean 'capable'.

@Onmur: well, as long as we are present why not?

Any way, I want to try a little more than 30 seconds, since she is unknowing reason we came here.

Returning tomorrow isn't the worst plan we've had. Even if we don't right away, keep that option on the table.

And I think we need to find a therapist who we can get in the know. We can't keep relying on Sabrina therapy. Especially if we manage to revive a witch. Can you imagine the issues we'd have to help someone we brought back with?

Actually, emergency workers give little kids teddy bears and other cuddly things after they've gone through a traumatic experience. I remember learning this from a friend who's looking to start a career in Emergency Services or the Military, and we were discussing the appropriateness of teddy-bear application for a certain scene in Sodales. So like, maybe not a kitten, but couldn't we totally do a grief plush toy? For that matter, I don't think any of the shops in the area will miss the one plush toy.

[] Either make a grief teddy bear or go find one in the rubble below.

Uh, don't they have school tomorrow? I'm pretty sure we don't actually have the time to visit a petting zoo after school. A pet cafe might work, though.

I agree. We have no idea what to do with this situation, and it's already past midnight. If we don't get a workable answer by the next post, I move that we adjourn and check up on her in the morning. She'll keep for that long, at least.

Reiterating: Mami ribbons, man. For when you don't want to inflict trauma.

I know asking Mami to do this instead has been proposed, but every time somebody suggests making grief constructs to help alleviate trauma, I'd like to bash them on the head and remind them that grief constructs feel FUCKING EVIL.

:p

Mami seems to have completely discarded her complex about keeping up appearances- and it's probably for the best in this case. How to explain it to Madoka and Sayaka's the issue there.
Dude, we want her to go to school. Mami deciding to skip school isn't a good thing. We want her to to live a normal life as much as possible.

Yes, but the day after this series of messess? With her still needing to explain things to Madoka and Sayaka and them not knowing not to press her about it? And her still in limpet mode?

ALL of the nope. That won't help her. She needs a day off at the very least, especially if she'll be involved in telling the truth about Kyubey to them- and in the long run that is the better call.

It's Japan. Homura and Mami both couldn't wrap their heads around Sabrina's question of whether they were going to school or not after the whole Oriko & Timestop madness.

Mami's going to go to school, try to feel somewhat normal and drive Kyubey into insanity by constantly telepathying Sabrina for comfort.

Except she took the day off for the Kyubey thing. We should definitely be completely okay with her taking another off. It's a second day after we pretty much forced her into being part of a messy, traumatizing turf war.

Most of all, another day off? Would be good for her. Rest. Detense after everything. Normalcy won't really be possible in an environment where classmates are going to have questions, Madoka and Sayaka won't know to leave her alone, and Kyubey's likely to be there. Yes, too much of this would be bad, but the Mumi needs a break.

Yes, she already too a day off. Another day off so soon after that? Unthinkable. I think japanese students, at least the ones Japan likes to show off, count as workaholics. You don't help a workaholic by taking them away from their work so much, so quickly.

You want Mami to have a break from everything? Missing school would be more like taking a break off normalcy and descending further into chaos.

That's it. Chaos. School will provide Order for Mami.

Maybe, since we barely have any ideas, we should consult Mami here. A panicked "I don't know what to do" might help deconstruct the unhealthy image we're building to her and also help our relationship go both ways.

@'Lement Still not sure what you're getting at. We came here to stop a war and generally try to save the day and such. If there's some specific other reason you're talking about, just say what it is.

I think you're right. We honestly don't have any idea what the fuck to do at this point, do we?
