Ignore and traditional bribes have considerable leads now; if you want to affect the outcome, I'd advise consolidating behind one of them.

[X] [Steppe] Reach out to further relations with this successful warlord (x0.1)
[X] [Steppe] Send the traditionally determined bribes (x2)
[X] [Steppe] Acquiesce to the larger than usual demands (x0.8)

Sheesh People
Chill please
You guys are making this bigger then normal
Remember this is the character Creation for the new civ
So the vote is Not about whether this particular warlord is dangerous or Not
But how the people react to pushy nomads and how their relationship to nomads will be in the future
In particular here is PiA vs the War against nomads Legacy and our own actions against them
However since so many People are whining about how it will be the end of the World, I will Stepp down a Bit

[X] [Steppe] Ignore the upstart, he will dash his forces against the People if he dares further action (x8)

Mhm, I can support traditional bribe. We can no IC reason to treat this little barbaroi as anything different.

Let the barbaboi have his little trinkets.

In the interest of lightening OOC coordination problems, I'm going to amend my previous vote.

I'm pretty sure the weighted vote is representative of the reaction of the People?

That's why killing them all is worth 100 times more than attempting to talk to them.

Anyone else weirded out at how quickly the isolationism came up? We still have PK and especially PiA, and both of them should make is extremely accepting of outsiders. We still have the international games running, which should be constantly showing us that our neighbors aren't far behind us and sometimes jump ahead.

Seriously, have we lost PiA? That's starting to seem likely given the narrative...

Also, I think I have to agree that the vote weighting mechanic is a very awkward one. Previously, we were balancing twenty problems with insufficient information, but we could get pretty close to a majority opinion on things.

Now, everything is vastly simplified to the point of having no real mechanics, and instead we have 100:1 vote weighting for certain options. I suppose that's a much easier way to represent the system collapsing in on itself, but it feels extremely unsatisfying IMHO. Before, the collapse would've been a natural consequence of the mechanics and the decisions. Now, it comes down to a couple votes with massively disproportionate power.

It doesn't even have to be Timmy for launching an extermination campaign to be a horrible idea. Traditionally, some of the worst nomad invasions were brought about by nomads fleeing growing hordes into settled areas.

This could just be a khan stuck dealing with the Greaf Migration and needing more resources to keep his people safe. By no means is assuming its Ghenghis or Nothing a feasible stance.
