Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

I still feel that we should just become another third party producer, but if we're going to enter the console wars then at the very least expect us to go head to head with Nintendo, rather than be just another of the "fad of the year" consoles of the 80s and 90s.

Main issue will be the games, which is why I'd support buying both Sega and Interplay Games to get their libraries. If we can get the former Square programmers and get their ideas then all the better.

Iron Champions
The early morning sun cast a warm glow over the campus, its rays spilling through the windows of Dennis' dorm room, an unorganized "organized chaos", filled with stacked books. The walls were adorned with Star Wars, Conan, Taxman Cometh and Soloman Kane posters, that and a few boxing posters. The sun begins illuminating the trio's determined faces. The rough outline of their new script lay before them, they had done it, they had made something new. Something they could proudly call theirs.

Amanda stretched and yawned, her eyes bleary but sparkling with excitement. "I think we've got something special here."

"Agreed," Dennis said, leaning back in his chair, surveying the pages spread across the table. "This feels right. Like it's our story."

Andy nodded, rubbing his eyes. "And this time, we'll be careful about who sees it. No more leaks. And no more 'Cousin Mark' incidents, got it?"
"Definitely," Amanda replied, standing up and gathering the papers. "We'll finish this draft, polish it, and then figure out our next steps."

Dennis and Andy stood as well, feeling a renewed sense of purpose. They had turned their frustration and disappointment into creativity and determination. The next few weeks were a blur of intense writing sessions, late-night brainstorming, and countless cups of coffee (and an equal amount of weed from Andy's stash). They holed up in Dennis's cramped dorm room, the walls plastered with notes, new posters and sketches. The new script, tentatively titled Iron Champions, began to take shape. It was a story of redemption, family, and the fight against corruption, set in a dystopian future where robot sports reigned supreme and where the human athlete has been sidelined in the name of profit.

One evening, as they huddled around the kitchen table, Amanda paused to stretch her aching back. "We've made some serious progress," she said, glancing at the stack of completed pages.

"Yeah, but we still have a lot of work to do," Dennis replied, his fingers tapping rhythmically on his typewriter. "I want to make sure the climax really packs a punch."

Andy leaned back, staring at the ceiling. "I've been thinking about the characters. We need to give each robot more personality. Make them stand out."

Dennis nods, tentatively, "Okay, the question is, do we make the robots entirely sentient, or just...robots? Or do we do like where they might be and we don't know?"

Amanda nods toward Dennis, "I like the third option personally. Leaves a bit of mystery while allowing the audience to fill in the details."

They spent the next few hours fleshing out the robots, giving each one a distinctive design and "personality", if you will. Titan became a hulking giant, a sleek black with powerful joints. Flash was a light speedster, inspired by the superhero his creator Max so admired. Blaze, the endurance robot, could take a huge beating and still remain standing.

As dawn approached, they finally called it a night. Amanda yawned and stretched, her muscles sore from hours of sitting. "We're really onto something here. I can feel it."

Dennis grinned, feeling a sense of accomplishment wash over him. "We just need to keep this momentum going. We're almost there."

Andy nodded, his eyes heavy with exhaustion. "Yeah, and then we can start thinking about how to pitch it. Maybe Lucasfilms would still be interested?"
"Honestly, maybe, that is if we can get Lucasfilm's attention. I know they're doing Return of the Jedi right now, but...maybe." Dennis shrugs.

The next few days were a whirlwind of activity as they polished the script, fine-tuning dialogue and refining the plot. By the time they finished, they had a script they were proud of, a story that felt uniquely their own.

One sunny afternoon, they gathered in a quiet corner of the campus café, their freshly printed script resting on the table between them. Amanda took a deep breath, her hands trembling slightly. "This is it. Iron Champions. We did it."

Dennis nodded, his heart pounding with excitement. "Now comes the hard part. Getting it out there."

Andy grinned, a determined look in his eyes. "We'll find a way. We have to."

And with that, the group began to do one last read over of their script:

Movie Pitch: Iron Champions

GENRE: Sci-Fi/Action

Leviathan:
A robust robot designed for aquatic sports, featuring waterproof exteriors and propulsion systems suited for swimming, diving, and underwater exploration. Leviathan's hydrodynamic design and powerful thrusters give it an edge in any water-based competition.

A/N: I decided to make the Omake about the writing of the film focus on three characters, rather than two. Like I said before, I'm fine with this film getting picked up by another studio (preferably Disney tbh), but Lucasfilm is obviously the top choice for the trio, if possible.

[X]The Crash happens (Lets see how bad the crash actually happens.)
So lets see how bad the crash will be.

The CRASH:
D100 => 94

It has collapsed most of the American video game industry, and part of the home computer industry.

the American video game industry will need a miracle to recover...

The Home computer industry will need something big to save it.

Well, let's see what we have to work with then.

...I don't know whether to feel horrified over what just happened, or gleeful out of the possibilities this brings us.

For you see...

What have I done!

FORGIVE ME PC MASTER RACE! I am but a humble Consle Peasent who knows not what he does!
Cyber you've destroyed the american gaming industry, fucked over large sections of the tech industry, and bad things are about to happen
You've also made sure that no one in America will even think on making videogames or try to invest in them or the market...which leaves it ripe for the taking when LucasArts makes its grand debut.

We are the two eyed king in the land of the blind!

Now, to think on new games that will let us dominate the market before Nintendo comes a knocking...

WHat did you think was gonna happen? Magoose dice would be chill and nothing bad would go down? 😆

On the bright side it's a perfect time for cooperate buyouts, recruiting personnel and IP hunting.

Now, to think on new games that will let us dominate the market before Nintendo comes a knocking...
Star Wars Trench Run? Or maybe an early version of the X wing games? I think a omake reward for something got us Hirinobo Sakaguchi so a proto final fantasy maybe?

Yaeh, that was my reqrd after I made the pitch/omake for Final Fantasy. We should be getting the game so there's something there at least.

But I'm thinking some other fun games that we can take and make iconic and fun for our future console. Though the collaps might mean that now (meaning next turn) we could buy Atari's library (or at least selected parts of it) for peanuts and use it for arcades at the very least.

Well considering that Nintendo has the Arcade monopoly with Donky Kong, and the NES will eventually come...

Along with a little plumber named Mario... lets just say that you are witnessing the birth of a juggernaut.

If it were 95 or above, I would have made an emergency omake with Apple about to get fucked by the whole market crash.

And that would have really showed you that something rotten was the state of Denmark.

We have to Get Aiden Gillain at some point he'd make a wonderful Hero/villain to play off Bruce.

Nintendo: YOU DARE CHALLANGE ME MORTAL!

I AM THE AVATAR OF THE GREATEST CHILDHOOD MEMORIES for GENERATIONS! NONE SHALL TRIUMPH!
THEN TAKE UP ARMS AND RAGE AGAINST THE DYING OF THE LIGHT! So that we can RETVRN and restore the balance of the console and PC nation's!
Microsoft...Apple, Nintendo...Comadore.

Long ago the Proto-Internet Gaming Community lived in Harmony.

Then Everything changed when Atari Collapsed.

Only the ARPANET Master of all Programming Elements could guide them, and then when the world needed them most...they went dark for server update.

Three months have passed and Operator One (Woz) and Lucusarts discovered the New ARPANET System called the Internet, and while its system is great, they have a lot to learn before it is ready to change everything.

Like we said...a lot to learn...

But that's a country. :p

Also, for possible video games, we could try to hop onto the point-and-click kind of adventure games early. Something like the game below, which I only learned because the video was in my recommended. It's absolutely fascinating how much love and care was put into this game, as well as how it offers you choices that actually affect the game and not just two different routes to Point B.

We can call our console the Play Station (Since I do think it's an awesome name, and Sony won't be able to use it if we do first), but the main issue to the Crash was mainly twofold; technological and lack of originality. We have the first, and we can do the second with time, but the main issue here is that in the case of videogames, unlike movies, the market needs a constant influx of new titles so that it may thrive. With Lucasfilms we can get away with making around 10 to 12 movies per year due to the quality we can make with them as we get huge returns with each one. Games however, if we don't offer a wide selection of games from the beginning (and they must be good as well) then we can't entice the buyers to go for our console rather than Nintendo's.

A solution for that, aside from making our own games by ourselves, is make deals with Third Party developers who would then make games for us. The problem there is, if they make a game that is not as good, or is crap, we are still contract bound to use it for our console nonetheless, since we won't have full cntrol over the final product.

So, we either start headhunting programmers for LucasArts, or we buy up the different Thrid Party companies, and then we assimilate their libraries (past and future) to us.
