Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

It's fine man. Believe that Magoose has a plan for it.

And if you can't then...BELIEVE IN THE ME THAT BELIEVES IN MAGOOSE!!!!!!!!!
And the fact that this was bound to happen eventually.

At least it's for the crime of making a source accurate tv show instead of being labeled as a traitor to the USA.

(Fuck you macarthy)

Welp time to make the Congress learn not to mess with us again also time to make a reversal move like we did with the democrats by making congress be investigated

Oh goddamnit, Congress.

Speaking of which, the only organization taht actually needs to be completely overhauled and have many of its rules changes is the MPAA. Their rating system is incredibly hypocritical on so many levels.

So when will we get to the Christian god season
There isn't ever going to be one, because I said in the original pitch, the whole point of the show was to showcase underrepresented cultures and stories from across the globe and make them accessible to a modern audience.

Christianity on the other hand, is not underrepresented, and while I do think there will eventually be an educational version that discusses the entire theological, philosophical and historical aspects of Abrahamism across its various denominations, especially with Bruce being the overall director of said project, again, that wasn't the point of this show.
Too controversial due to it being a major religion and we don't step on the toes of the wrong people
Nope, different show and we will step on those toes at one point, just not soon...thinking sometime in the '90s, counteracting some of the bullshit that will be brought on the 2000s.
I mean now that you've mentioned it:

Congress reacting: D100 => 5

We're about to get hauled before Congress boys!
Wow...Carter, Kissinger and a number of others must have been livid about the potshots we took at him during our speech.

Time to get oratorial up in here!

To A) build an audience, and B) not everyone is even aware that those myths exist, especially in the 1980s, and those that do typically are only aware of it due to their education and ease of access to a good library.

If at some point we are going for Christianity, then I don't think it would be a good idea to try and put it together with the other "Abrahamanic" faiths. At the end of the day, Chrstianity, Islam and Judaism may have originated from the same source (though I seriously doubt the claims from the muslims) but they are all different in their own ways, with irreconcilable differences that will not allow Bruce, a devout Catholic, to admit that they can all be lumped together.

To add to that if anything Bruce just might make a show about the popes. From Saint Peter all the way to present day.

Because oh boy do they have some interesting stories to tell.

You say that, but it is largely impossible to ignore due to how interconnected they are from a historical perspective. To ignore that is to show an extreme bias of one over the others.

There's examples of this everywhere, from how Judaism, not even 300 years before Yeshua of Nazareth (Jesus Christ), was monolatric religion (a belief in the existence of many gods but with the consistent worship of only one deity), that shared a heavy resemblance with surrounding faiths [most notably Zoroasterianism]. Later, 70AD was when the schism between Judaism and Christianity became official and they started becoming fully distinct from one another. When Chalcedonian Christianity started splintering into the various definitions in the wake of the various quote on quote "heresies" that invoked Apollinarianism (Avatar theory, Jesus was an empty vessel for God to inhabit), Arianism ("Gilgamesh" Theory, ie Jesus wasn't fully divine and created), Gnosticism (Emissary Theory, that lesser divinities created existence and Jesus was sent by God to teach the truth), Monophysitism (Jesus was fully divine), among others, most being some flavor of how to interpret and reconcile Jewish and Pagan doctrine with the Apostles' teachings; some of these early sects remain in various forms, with their teachings either held by the few remaining elder sects of Christianity, such as the Mandeanism, or recreated by Revisionist sects, such as the Jevoah's Witnesses.

Later still came the Khazars, a nomadic peoples of the Eurasian Steppes, who adopted Judaism, and tended to occasionally invade areas of Eastern Europe that were being slowly converted. In that same vein, and during that same time period, were the generational Jihads that created the Abbassid Empire on the back of the crumbling Eastern Roman Empire, something that would ultimately culminate in the Crusades, with the French Crusaders returning home with tales of the Holy Land, tales that would influence the writings for King Arthur when tales of "courtly love" were injected in a story that originally lacked them.

All of these things and more did not exist in a vacuum, and they must be talked about when discussing any of the three in order to avoid accusations of bias.

I can't stop thinking of Pope Formosus, about the trial they held with his exhumed corpse on parade, or Pope Alexander VI's most famous mistresses, Giulia Farnese, if we're going to be sensationalist.

Yeah…
Part of why the Middle East is a place of chaos. The three are a lot more similar than one would think, due to all three having the same roots in Judaism. Which also means they all share the same holy capital. Of course where they are different is far more than enough for bad blood and arguments to form.

I think you may be misinterpreting what overmind is trying to get at. From what I understood, he's saying that while they may come from a common source(his personal doubts aside), they are also different enough that they warrant their own dedicated seasons, as opposed to putting them all in one season.

You know what, for the less PG parts of history, we could do something in the vein of Puppet History where various celebrities or LucasFilms employees join the show to see if they can win the trophy cup of jelly beans(and a monetary prize).

It's simple to see the differences between them. An example of this is:

Judaism: Jesus is not God.

Christianity: Jesus is God

Muslims: Jesus is not God, but a prophet.

One of this is true, the others are not.

If you want to try and make a show in which you explore the hystorical perspective then fine, I will not debate that they are connected in that way. But the differences in philosophy, creeds, and beliefs make them irreconciliable and different.

THis! I mean each of them should get their own Season so that none may feel insulted.

Perhaps a Mini-Series like "The Bible" that shows everything from Genesis up to the death of Jesus.

If we touch that subject, no matter what people would get triggered.
Not any more than they'd hate the Islam section. Also, saying "christians would hate it," as if Mormons aren't also Christians.
Pretty much the core issue. No matter how it's handled there will be pushback. I mean, if we dome things seperate, there are still things that could easily be flashpoints, especially as events had seen the different faiths as major players in each other's histories (Jihad/Crusade anyone?).It might be best to try covering based on historical sequence of events, talking bouncing between important events that involved one to all of the faiths. Starting with the Oldest branch, and starting to bounce between the other and the 'first branch' perspectives as they historically enter the scene. With some delving into multiple perspectives of the same event like the crusades between the Christians and Islamic faiths. 🤔

Seriously, from what little I know of Mormonism and it's "stories," as it were, are interesting as hell. I mean, just look at the art! Biblical scenes in pre-Columbian America? Fuck yeah!
No just no that would not do well because well for multiples of reason and christans would hate it

Here's the thing though...when most folk in America refer to Christianity, they're only ever talking about the Protestants, with this sect of people also outright denying that the Orthodox and Catholicism are even Christian to begin with, let alone Restorationist sects like Jevoah's Witnesses and Mormons, the later of whom also has become more of a cultural identity at this point.

The number of people in the US military alone who argue about this, let alone social media...it's super headache inducing.

Which, in a way is as different to Christianity as Christianity is to Jewdaism.

Monothiesm is the most dominant religeon on the planet, just...
They also happen to be the most splintered as like any religion, Just Can't get along with themselves. Really, the three 'big religeons' are more tent names covering many different groups that have issues with each other. With Protestants s Catholics the most well known split.
