Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Fucking hell, those dice were really out there this turn, huh?
And I should have told you all earlier that Superman had a debuff due to Chris literally doing a press tour... its literally an inciting incident.

But honestly, It was fine, because that -30 turned into a -10 and it passed greatly!

This is what I get for watching one piece all day, forgetting my own rewards
Speaking of One Piece, I just watched a trailer for the live action Netflix series....and despite not being a fan of One Piece, I'm really liking what I'm seeing. It looks like it's going to be great and listening to the cast and crew honestly gave me a lot of hope and it was nice to hear the people involved actually giving a shit about the creator, creation, and it's fans for once. Feels like it's been so long since that was just the baseline standard.

...A Post-Credit Scene of Superman meeting Batman. My inner Marvel fan wants to rage, but I'm too busy gushing over the fact that finally we may have an actual good movie with both characters instead a bastardization of them (Looking at you Snyder!)

Overall, the rest looks fine, though I'm a bit concerned over what the hell is going on with Brandon.
... I honestly didn't know what to give this, but +15 to SP.

Because I really, honestly do not know what to give this as a reward.
That's fine man. Just knowing there's a chance this can be made in the 80s is enough for me.

Well we had great rolls all around... except for this sinle action.
-[X]So How many people are coming in now?: Ever since Gundam was released, Tomino has been… swamped. No not by anything bad… but from the literal thousands of animators that want to try to join… He needs help. DC:??? Rolled:D100 => 18

You were going to help Tomino… Then… you learned he had been called, by sunrise, to talk about Gundam.

And it was not good.

Failure: Uh oh… Tomino, you are not in trouble with Dreamworks… but… Sunrise is… angry? What, all of Sunrise animation were trying to flee to America to work for Tomino?

We are going to retake that action, or take an action to make damage control on this...

That's fine man. Just knowing there's a chance this can be made in the 80s is enough for me.
I only hope that if we end up doing it it will be under a different name and not related in any way to DC's Constantine...

As a standalone movie Constantine was pretty good, but as an adaptation of one of the most legendary story arcs in comic book history was an absolutely terrible wasted opportunity.

Oh no... that is going to be something that Mike Deals with.

So 50/50 chance we somehow get Gundam... and all of Sunrise's Animation team...

Or Mike does something stupid.
I vote option 3: We buy Sunrise and we have our own Anime company.

Because if Sony can do so with a Studio, we can do the same to them.

...And it's high time they learn that.

-[X]The Batman must be… something: You have an idea of a scene where Batman interacts with a couple of very young hoodlums, who are clearly being threatened. How do you want to do it (Linetail how you want to try and shoot it)
--[X] For how Batman interacts with a couple of hoodlums being threatened, focus on the duality of Batman as a hero and highlight his potential to inspire and give hope as the caped crusader which highlights the care Bruce has towards those who turn to crime because of circumstances beyond their control; with compassion and care, giving them a chance and trying to steer them right. Show that he fights the ones threatening, but tries turning the others back into the right path. Rolled: D100 => 98+20=118
-[X]A Cowardly and Superstitious lot: Batman being more than a man… that is something you want to put through the eyes of his… adversary. How would you do it? (Linetail how do you want to try and shoot it?)
--[X] Batman, in order to be something beyond human in the eyes of the criminals, needs to build a reputation of being invincible, unstoppable, relentless. He must lean on the fear he brings the criminal element. he must strike from the shadows and barely, if ever, speak. When struck he must not show weakness, when striking it must bring them down in one shot, when he threatens everyone must believe he's willing to go through with it. Rolled:D100 => 92+20=112
-[X]The Most important thing: You are going to try and film the Murder of the Waynes… How do you do it (Linetail how do you want to try and shoot it?)
--[X] We should start with a close up of his eyes, as if delving deep into a memory, before moving to a young Bruce as he's watching Zorro in the cinema. Then cutting to him and his parents leaving, all are happy, Bruce is playing at Zorro as they walk, before Joe Chill moves from the shadows. Thomas tries to put himself forward to protect his family and give the man what he wants, but Chill sees it as provocation and shoots, Martha screams which has him shoot her as well, with Joe grabbing the pearl necklace and it breaking as he runs away. Bruce through it all is in shock, then falling to his knees in front of his parents' bodies, as he softly weeps. Rolled:D100 => 99+20=119

Honestly, it took only a month, and numerous changes to the script. But that didn't matter.

You managed to get everything you wanted. And even Alan was impressed by how you did it.

Reward: Unknown Positive effect, not only on the film's quality. But on the Entire Batman Canon.

Also, +50 to all Production rolls.
A FEAR THAT LIES IN SHADOWS CANNOT FADE, CRUSH THE LIGHT! I AM THE NIGHT!

all I will say is this:

its not actually a 50/50

But it is something that will befunny.

Because Mike loves money.
So what, are we going to buy Bandai to produce even more merchandising?

Still, it kind of pisses me off that the we end up failing one of the two actions we didn't want to fail while we roll like a Champ on the autopassed actions

Also, is it just me who noticed that Alex Guinness' rather biting commentary with Bruce rather fits the relationship and people they are acting as? Cause boy does Alfred have a mouth on him in regards to Bruce's shenanigans.

I only hope that if we end up doing it it will be under a different name and not related in any way to DC's Constantine...

As a standalone movie Constantine was pretty good, but as an adaptation of one of the most legendary story arcs in comic book history was an absolutely terrible wasted opportunity.
Since my plans have this movie be done before Hellblazer is published, then I think that what will happen is we keep the name John Constantine, and they name their character differently.

Not a bad trade off in my opinion.

I can't help but imagine Bruce grabbing one of the thug actors one-handed by the shirt/neck and lifting them up to stare them in the eyes while in full cowl, and declaring the good old I am Vengeance, etc. lines.

Proceeding to terrify everyone on set, especially the unfortunate actor playing a thug.
