Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

I can't help but imagine Bruce grabbing one of the thug actors one-handed by the shirt/neck and lifting them up to stare them in the eyes while in full cowl, and declaring the good old I am Vengeance, etc. lines.
Actually, yes.

He's done the classic I'm Vengence Line.

As well as the Classic Conroy speech at the end.

This should be done in a more appropriate moment, perhaps when he's finally beating Deadshot, and has him terrified.
As well as the Classic Conroy speech at the end.
...Which one?

Also, what part of the Batman Mythos did we influence? I mean, much of what we're using should have already been part of Canon...withthe exception of the Falcone Crime Family of course, and Batman struggling at the beginning...and possibly the death of hsi parents as they're leaving from the theater after watching Zorro.

Well I wanted to use Conroy's speech to Robin from Robin's Reckoning.

But since Robin is not part of the plot, I am going to use one of the speeches from Mask of the Phantasm...

Or maybe borrow one of the speeches from Batman Year One, I haven't decided.

As for what we influenced... Well lets just say that the mob may be a little more prominent in future batman stories, and Deadshot just became one of the go to batman rouges for deadly games of cat and mouse.

And expect Batman to have a very large bounty on his head for the entirety of the 80's with assassins trying to collect.

Oof, the Graveyard Speech really emphasizes how broken Bruce is as a person. Trying to apologize to his dead parents about the fact he's actually found happiness with a woman he truly loves.
That one wouldn't work in this movie since he does not have a love interest.

The one in Year One might fit; that's the one where he's wounded in his mansion, and speaking to himself/ to his father about what else is needed to bring fear into the criminal mind, and asking/begging for a sign...only for a bat to break through his window, Bruce smiles and finally calls for Alfred to help him heal while he thanks his father.

Since my plans have this movie be done before Hellblazer is published, then I think that what will happen is we keep the name John Constantine, and they name their character differently.

Not a bad trade off in my opinion.
But not before the Swamp Thing is published (it began publication in 1974)...

Jonh Constantine appears in the Swamp Thing much before than Hellblazer is published as the mentor of the titular Thing...

So, no DC Will shut us down if we try it...

Alright, we'll just have to do it before June of 1985.

We're still good.

-[X]A Funny Moment: So Christopher Reeves showed up in full Superman Regalia... you are going to have some fun with this. DC: 45 Rolled:D100 => 65-10=55

You were filming a few scenes of Clint and Faya, a simple conversation scene, a time where you were just good, feeling a wonderful sense of chemistry between them. It was also some time before, at least in your mind, you were going to film the introduction of you and Gordon's meeting.

It was going to be a fun way to get your hands into the thing, as well as finding so much so, that you honestly didn't notice Christopher Reeves appear on set.

And honestly, it took both Clint and Faya stopping to gawk and you calling cut to find out what actually happened. And considering the sight of you being in costume, and Chris also being in costume, you were honestly… shocked.

"Um, Chris?" You said his name quietly as he gave a warm smile. "Please god tell me Robin didn't set you up for this?"

There was a laugh. "Oh, he did. But that's not exactly why I am here." He replied as he turned to several photographers, and you could see the letters DC, and several other newspaper and news stations…

Oh no. "They are-"

"Seems Alan wants to have us to be ready for interviews." He replied.

Oh no nononono! "That bastard, he knows the media hates me, and I hate them!" You swore under your breath.

"Well, we're going to have to get used to it."

"I'm in the middle of working. And I don't want to do any kind of interview!" You said before you had an idea. "Can you help me avoid the media by something for me?"

Chris gave a nod. "Of course."

You then ran over to the set designer and prop master. "We're doing it off the cut! Going off script, I need the whole roof set ready in five." You looked at the time. It was almost sunset… Good. maybe you could use that to make it better.
------------------

You looked at Chris and put the cowl over your head. "Thanks, I owe you one."

He smiled. "Well I've never done something like this. So I'm for it."

"Great, because I'm only doing this to avoid the reporters downstairs." You said as you looked at the shot one last time. "You like what I wrote?"

Chris smiled. "Yes."

"Great, because I couldn't call Carrie to write something up." You smiled as you looked through the camera.

"How many takes do you think we'll need?" Chris asked.

"If we're lucky?" You replied looking at the sunset. "Just one."

Reward: You filmed a post-credit…or is it a pre post-credit scene? where you as batman, meet Superman, and talk for a minute. Mostly to get out of interviews and people who were trying to stop your shoot.

LMAO! I can't believe that we accidentally created the DCU, and all because Bruce didn't want to do an interview and hates the media, it's going to be one of the most hillarious things in pop culture history that cinematic universes came from Bruce just hating journalists.

This, this right here is definitely big, probably one of the most important things we've ever done in our career. Even if we don't have the same quality or scale as the MCU, having one film or more where DC's most iconic heroes join together is going to set the world ablaze in a way that only Star Wars could match. At this point I really want to do a Batman and Superman crossover. Let's just swear not to do any bullshit vs stuff and just focus on them being super friends and fighting crime.

We also absolutely need to bring Linda into this. As the first modern DC hero she absolutely deserves a share of the glory. Me thinks that if Superman is a box office success that Alan will try to push for Wonder Woman season 4 or a Wonder Woman movie. Would love to do another appearence on Wonder Woman, this time as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Though it would be funny to see Diana do a double take that Bruce Wayne looks very suspiciously like the God of War.....

-[X]Meeting Jodie: You and Jodie saw each other briefly when she was in Lucasfilms for recording, but really you saw nothing more of her. Try and change that might be a good idea. DC: 30 Rolled:D100 => 31+20=51

You almost missed her, and it was quite interesting that you were able to see her, because most of the scenes, were here with Clint, and Faya, and with only one exception, over the phone or radio, she didn't really interact with you.

But as director, you were honestly quite happy to finally get to see her. Though it was a bit awkward.

"Hey Jodie, can we talk for a sec?" You asked as you felt a strain on your back, and sat down as she ran over.

"Oh hey Bruce, what's up." She asked as she saw you sit down. "You okay?"

"Oh yeah, I'm…" You stretched and nearly fell over. "Oh, one of the guys punched me a little too hard on the back and now it hurts."

"Want me to get the medic?" she asked.

"Nah, I'll just stretch and work behind the camera for today." You then paused. "So, how do you like it?"

"The work, or working with you? You know Mark told me that you were always… well a bit of an enigma, but he said you were fun to work with most of the time when you were not under a lot of stress."

Yeah, it seems the Rumors of Conan had spread. "Well I'm not under stress, I'm going home most nights to my wife and daughter, and I am enjoying well… the work. It's not every day you play your favorite character twice."

There was a moment where Jodie laughed. "Wait, you like Batman?"

You shrugged. "I like Conan more, but I have read a few comics of the Caped Crusader."

"Nerd." She said.

"Coming from the girl that took this job to, and I quote 'Branch out?'"

Jodie frowned. "No fair."

"Oh come on, you are always looking for more rolls to get you away from the Child Star thing, and I get it. It's why I lied about my age for the first productions I was in."

That made Jodie look incredulous. "You wait, what?"

"It was pretty easy to do 'cause I looked a lot older than what people first saw of me." You then remembered Brooks. "Making friends also helped."

You both just kept talking, and honestly, it was fun. Though hearing about Jodie having trouble with trying to get work was a bit hard to hear. You were lucky that you got the chance to work so much. She was not.

But you both were enjoying the time spent on set, and she was happy to be breaking a few molds and branching out.

Reward: Jodie is having a good time, and also hears about some of your misadventures before fame and fortune.

+30 to SP and Chemistry.

That was some good vibes, hopefully we can soon count on Jodie to be in Bruce and Carrie's friend group. As a star of Gundam and being Batgirl, hopefully Jodie can find some great success in the future besides Silence of the Lambs. Would be more than happy to cast her in some future Bruce films. If we start production in the next couple of years we could have her in Moonlight Diner as the runaway.

Reward: Unknown Positive effect, not only on the film's quality. But on the Entire Batman Canon.

Damn, to think we are starting to cement ourselves as the definitive Batman. One can only imagine how much the modern identity of Batman and how the public perceives him will be. There are two things that I really hope we can cement. One, push Batman away from the edgelord stuff and still have him be a hero instead of a non-lethal punisher. Two, build off of Bruce's reputation as a devoted family man and have the Batfamily be a core part of the mythos and story beyond the comics.

-[X]Faya's Fareway: She was not happy about any of this, but mostly it was because she saw you and Clint and really thought something. Yet finally she said it. DC: 20 Rolled:D100 => 6+20=26

But it seems your charms, and directing ability… was enough to send Faya to fury and anger.

Before you basically sat down to talk to her.

"You really put me up with him?" She pointed to Clint. "He's a pig, a-"

"A damn fine actor." You replied. "Don't give much stock to the rumors around him... most of the time. Right now, just consider him an aloof coworker."

"He's not being that way." She replied.

You looked to Clint, who had heard that part. Then he realized you were going to have words with him. "I'll talk to him."

You did, and she felt better after that, and the next scenes were perfect.

Reward: Faya is now back to 100%

+30 to her SP and Chemistry.

OOF, we got very lucky with the bonus and after a quick wiki read on Faye I think I found out why she hates Clint's guts. So in the late 60's Faye was in a relationship with famed Italian actor Marcello Mastroianni. They were madly in love with each other and Faye wanted to marry him, but their relationship had been taking place while Marcello was separated from his wife, not divorce, and because Marcello was a Catholic he refused to divorce his wife, forcing Faye to dump him. The relationship and how it ended seemed to scar Faye emotionally where she had Debbie luck for romance for the rest of her life.

So in return you have Clint Eastwood, a man famous for his open marriage where he fathers bastards left and right, is separated from his wife but not divorced, and is currently in a live-in relationship with his Josey Wales co-star Sandra Locke. So yeah, Clint is a trauma trigger and him being there is pushing all of Faye's buttons. Add in the fact that we are so close to Clint and Bruce considers him an uncle figure, and Faye may be paranoid that Clint rubbed off on Bruce and he treats Carrie the same way, not knowing that Bruce is deeply in love with and solely committed to Carrie. So yeah, lot of messiness that we avoided. Thankfully Faye's only got one more film left.

By the way Magoose, what does Bruce think about Clint's relationsihp with Sandra Locke and has he ever met her?

-[X]Carrie Look at the… Holy Shit?:So Carrie's business partners just came to talk to her. Thankfully, it was… good. Jesus Christ that is a lot of money. DC: 0 Rolled:D100 => 49+40=89 (Autopass)

Company usage:D1000 => 514

You and Carrie both looked at each other… and then at the check. "So… how many companies are using my patents?" Carrie asked.

The agent looked at a note. "Domestic or foreign?"

"Yes." Carrie said dumbfounded.

"514."

Carrie thankfully remained conscious, but she clearly lost all her functions as her mind raced. "Have a nice day," the man replied. "We will continue to bring your checks to the account listed on Miss O'Brian's account."

You then looked at the check and realized the absurdity of the number she had made in the last month.

100,000,000

Reward: Carrie will be a billionaire by 1980 due to her patents. She will be making tens of millions of dollars every month for the rest of her life.

Um… New Action available.

Looks like Carrie wears the financial pants in the relationship, lol. So apparently Carrie will be the first female billionaire in history, reaching the achievement 20 years before Martha Stewart did in OTL. She will also be among the youngest of the billionaire club, perhaps potentially the youngest. Amazing how she only does a fraction of Bruce's work and still has the greater achievements. The whole timeline is definitely a Common Carrie Fisher W.

Would be hillarious if the kids are meh on inheriting Lucasfilms and all want a slice of the bodypillow empire, lol.

-[X]You Feel so Soft: Mary squeezed your arm, as she snuggled you. "I love you." She said. "I know" Rolled: D100 => 62

You were going to enjoy holding her, but you were just too happy to do anything more than to hold her in your arms. "I love you daddy." She said as she began to slowly fall asleep in your arms.

You gently rocked her to sleep. It was times like this that truly made everything worth it. You loved every second of just being able to be alone.

As you laid her down and tucked her in, you caught Carrie taking a picture. "Need this for the Christmas card." She whispered as she took the Polaroid out and shocked it, letting it develop. And it was there, you and Mary, looking at each other captured forever in time.
------------------------------------------------------------

-[X]A Quiet Moment: You look at Carrie before she finally lays down next to you. "You wanna know something?" DC: 0 Rolled:D100 => 140

Carrie's Realization:D3 => 2

Carrie laid down next to you as you both got ready for bet, your hand twirling her hair as she looked at you. "What are we going to do?" She asked. "We just… we're making more money than we can do in a lifetime, Bruce. And I'm just scared that… it will change us."

"Why would you think that?" you asked.

"I don't know, all the stories around Hollywood of the rich and famous. The fact we have so much that we can't possibly comprehend how much we actually have?" Carrie then just… stopped. "I don't even need to work anymore…" She then chuckled.

You and Carrie both looked at each other, deeply trying to read each other before she sighed. "You wanna know something, Bruce." She then leaned into you, embracing you as you felt her heartbeat match your own. "I enjoy this."

"Enjoy what?" You asked.

Carrie smiled. "I enjoy being a mother. I just find myself content being able to not worry about anything other than Mary and you and my mom and my friends. I do normal things that everyone deals with every day, with only the assurances that I can make mistakes… and I'll be able to learn from them by continuing to be the best person I am…" She looked up. "The best person you helped me become."

"What about acting, writing, and everything else? You'd rather be a stay-at-home mom than do any of that?"

Carrie just smiled. "After everything that has happened in my life, what would make you think I would want to be anything else? I've done everything I ever wanted to achieve as a writer and an actress in my first film." Her eyes glanced over to her Oscars, proudly displayed in the room, next to your own. "I don't have that same love you have for it. Not anymore… something else took its place."

You then laughed. "I hope you are not abandoning me on my Star Wars directorial debut?"

"With you, I'll do everything." She said before she kissed you. "Till death do us part."

You both enjoyed the kiss for a very long time. As she pulled back to breathe, you whispered. "I love you."

"I know."

Reward: Carrie, has decided that she would be focusing a lot more of her energies on being a mother, no longer writing or acting in any movies that do not star or direct you, Debbie, or being asked by George, Sly, or on occasion, Mike.

Carrie may want to start having more children soon, but that will depend on if you are ready for that.

AWWW!!! Bruce continues to be a great Papa Goose and Mary being a genius makes for some nice memories.

Carrie deciding to become a full time mom is a surprise to be sure, but with everything that's happened it makes a lot of sense and is kind of natural. Carrie OTL seemed to be at her happiest raising her daughter, and here she is sharing the joys of parenthood with a wonderful and loving husband and Carrie is giving Mary the childhood that she missed out on growing up.

From what I read of the Carrie biography along with interviews, Carrie while enjoying acting never really wanted to be an actor. She stated she became an actor because that's what her parents were and that's what they and the rest of the world expected of her, so she went along with it since that was something she was decent at and enjoyed even though she wanted to be a pediatrician or child psychologist. Here, Carrie did peak with her literal first film, she's still got Leia, but most importantly she's happy and fulfilled with her family, filling that whole she had OTL thanks to love. So overall a happy ending, and it's not like Carrie will never act or write or she can't change her mind down the road, so still plenty of potential for Carrie appearences as part of an O'Brian film.

So I guess with all this being said that Bruce and Carrie are going to try and give Mary a brother or sister after Star Wars is done. Don't see any reason why not and by then they'll have learned all the basics from Mary to be even better the second time around. At least all the Goslings will be able to see Carrie everyday and Bruce no matter what his career is will definitely be with the family most of the year.

-[X]Brandon needs some… stuff: You look at Brandon and realize that cooping him up in your mansion was not going to be a good idea. DC: 45 Rolled:D100 => 60

You honestly didn't think Brandon would be that stupid.

But thank god you were there.

(Continued in: Brandon and Bruce…)

AN: Whoever sacrificed to the Dice gods.

Fuck you! The Magoose dice are not toys for you to play around with, they are very dangerous!:V

And prone to doing crazy things like this!

SMH Brandon, we already got past the low point that you needed to enter your training arc, why you gotta stir more trouble? Hopefully it's nothing with Mary, because if she was in danger then Bruce sure as hell isn't gonna train him.

Oh no... that is going to be something that Mike Deals with.

So 50/50 chance we somehow get Gundam... and all of Sunrise's Animation team...

Or Mike does something stupid.
Oh no... that is going to be something that Mike Deals with.

I'd be down to doing a Disney-Pixar and buying Sunrise as a part of the greater Dreamworks and Lucasfilms brand. Keep the studio in Japan, let them do their own thing with American work culture and have an active exchange program, and we get a shit ton of iconic anime and a reliable producer for our future Lucasfilms channel.

As for what we influenced... Well lets just say that the mob may be a little more prominent in future batman stories, and Deadshot just became one of the go to batman rouges for deadly games of cat and mouse.

All very cool changes. Also I imagine that at least until Will Smith plays him, that Deadshot in comics and animation will look like John Travolta.

By the way Magoose, what does Bruce think about Clint's relationsihp with Sandra Locke and has he ever met her?
He actually dosen't have an opinon and they have never met.

Yep.

Turns out, the dice have decided that Carrie suffered enough in one timeline... so now, they are going to be giving her everything she ever wanted in another.
So I guess with all this being said that Bruce and Carrie are going to try and give Mary a brother or sister after Star Wars is done. Don't see any reason why not and by then they'll have learned all the basics from Mary to be even better the second time around. Yep.

Carrie may not have an illustrious career in Hollywood.

or even a long one, but she will have a great one.
SMH Brandon, we already got past the low point that you needed to enter your training arc, why you gotta stir more trouble? Hopefully it's nothing with Mary, because if she was in danger then Bruce sure as hell isn't gonna train him.
Because sometimes the Training arc requires the mentor to get in their and kick some ass.
All very cool changes. Also I imagine that at least until Will Smith plays him, that Deadshot in comics and animation will look like John Travolta.

Would hope it wouldn't go too whitewashed. Batman still has his moments, and sometimes the only way to get answers out of someone is to piledrive them through a car window head first.

Batman's a hero no doubt, but he's also brutal in a way most other heroes aren't. As was said in The Dark Knight, he's one of the richest, most powerful men in the world, and he spends his nights beating criminals to a bloody pulp with his bare hands. There are issues upon issues obvious from that description alone.
