TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands.
To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.
I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.
I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.
I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all.
(Meanwhile with Writers' room, everyone is placing bets on how long it will take for Bruce to come to them to make a Count of Monte Cristo like story in Hollywood)
Growing up me and my sister had a Winey the Pooh nursery and play room with all of the characters and the hundred acre woods so I was hoping for something similar
Overall some nice stuff, glad to see that the O'Brian family is happy, healthy and safe and both Bruce and Carrie are prepped for being parents. A bit disappointing that the nursery wasn't painted anything special. Growing up me and my sister had a Winey the Pooh nursery and play room with all of the characters and the hundred acre woods painted on the walls so I was hoping for something similar, though it doesn't have to be Star Wars. Nice job of Carrie in keeping it simple though, rich brats are the absolute worst but if you have them grow up simple and comfy lives without feeding them gold on a silver spoon they'll turn out alright.
Carrie keeping it simple is actually both more in line with how Bruce grew up, in an apartment in New York without luxury, and the exact opposite what she grew up in...
And she would rather be closer to simple, then try to do something that reminds her of... well...
One detail I also noticed is that Debbie isn't going to go looking for hubby number three. Probably for the best so she can focus on being a great grandmother, but I was hoping that somewhere down the line she'd get a happy ending with a special someone because she definitely deserves it and the poor Reynolds family had absolute shit romance luck.
The thing is, Debbie is all really... well she has had enough of her shit love life, so she might as well do her best to not be a spindral and be an amazing grandma now. And considering that Bruce and Carrie might be deciding to fuck like bunnies... she'll have plenty of grandkids to spoil.
Since we got such high rolls did we get any bonus to parenting? I'm hoping that most kid stuff will be DC 0 or get the Carrie bonus because I want Bruce to be a good Dad.
I knew I'd find a way to give Magoose a headache. I present to you Hamlet, by Universal Studios, starring...
Movie Pitch
Hamlet
One stormy night a pair of watchmen see a ghostly spectre on the castle ramparts. They call upon the Prince of Denmark Hamlet, and he realizes that the ghost is his recently deceased father. The apparition reveals that he was murdered by his brother, Claudius, and urges Hamlet to seek revenge for the murder of his father. What happens is the story of a man soon diving into the pools of madness, surrounded by subterfuge and misdirection.
Prince Hamlet: The Prince of Denmark and the main man in our insane film. Mid-to-late twenties at the start of the film, he's a tired and cynical character who's tired of his uncle's bullshit and his mother's shallowness. At times Hamlet can be reflective and cautious, while other times the dude's just actin' on a mixture of instinct and general impulsiveness.
-Actor: Arnold Schwarzenegger
-Alt: NONE! Ahnold or we riot!
Claudius: King of Denmark, and Hamlet's uncle, and thus our film's main antagonist. He's a calculating and vicious bastard who's main desires seems to be power and sex. Oh sure there are times where he sort of shows humanity, but it's mostly when he's trying to bone Gertrude, Hamlet's mom.
-Actor: Anthony Perkins
-Alt: Gene Hackman
Gertrude: Queen of Denmark, she's Hamlet's mom but now she's married to Claudius. She is, uh, well she's kind of not a good person. Oh sure she loves her son, but man does she just want affection and all the good things that come from being queen more than she actually cares about morals and ethics.
-Actress: Carolyn Jones
-Alt: Lee Remick
Polonius: Chamberlain of Claudius' court, dude's a dick and a conniving old fart who isn't afraid to let everyone else know that fact.
-Actor: Peter Sellers
-Alt: Jerry Stiller
Ophelia: Probably the kindest and most pure character in the whole film, she's the daughter of Polonius and ends up going with his plans to spy on Hamlet. The shit this girl goes through man.
-Actress: Nancy Allen
-Alt: Lindsay Duncan
Laertes: Brother to Opehlia and Son to Polonius, dude's quick and passionate to act and sort of is just there to act as a foil to Hamlet.
-Actor: Sylvester Stallone
-Alt: Ron Perlman
The Ghost: A spectre that resembles Hamlet's recently deceased father, the spooky ghost dad tells Hamlet that it was that jerk Claudius who done did him in, and urges Hamlet to be a good son and kill his uncle in revenge. However Hamlet ain't sure this is actually the ghost of his daddy, he's also thinkin' it might just be the devil playin' tricks on him.
-Actor: Bruce Glover
-Alt: Johnny Cash
Horatio: Hamlet's best buddy, stays loyal to the dude throughout the whole film and ends up being the one telling Hamlet's story after his death.
-Actor: Ernie Hudson
-Alt: Tom Selleck
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern: Bumbling duo and the comedic element who are old pals of Hamlet, get called upon by Claudius and Gertrude to find out what the hell is going on with said Prince.
-Actors: Steve Martin and Andy Kaufman
-Alt: Henry Winkler and Robin Williams
Marcellus and Bernardo: The two guards who first see that spooky ghost dad at the beginning of the movie and kick off the whole plot
-Actors: Randy Quaid and Samuel Jackson
-Alt: Carl Weathers and M.C. Gainey
A/N: So. I was inspired by the recent FGO Memorial Movie and the fact that I am a shameless furry to create what can best be descrided as "If Don Bluth made a history show."
Show Pitch:
Through Beast's Eyes
"Ever since man first tamed the wolf, animals have been by our side throughout all of history. They were with us to witness both our triumphs and our tragedies. They have seen the rise of both heroes and tyrants. Some even had the chance to make history. However, as they are but animals, we will never know them as they know us. Never able to truly know their story.
But what if there was a world where we could know?"
-Potential Opening Narration
Set Up: An animated anthology, Through Beast's Eyes tells of a alternate history where animals can walk and talk like humans. Each episode features a different animal (some based on real, historical animals, others purely fictional) in different points in history, all with a frame story centering around a canine teacher telling these stories to his feline student to help him through his own problems. A subtle underlining theme throughout the series is how the animals, despite being anthropomorphic, still tend to be treated as "lesser" than humans to some extent, with the frame story implying that animals have only recently been given all the same rights as humans. At the end of each episode, there's a brief segment called "In Our History," that provides greater historical context to the episode, often explaining what was made up for the story and what actually happened.
(A/N: I am open to more ideas, so feel free to suggest your own. Also, while I do believe that "An American Tail" would right at home as an episode, I don't want to disregard the possibity of it still being a movie, so I did not include it for now.)
Reynard and the Beast of Gévaudan: Reynard, a trickster fox, vists a small village in Gévaudan, France and, having taken an instant dislike to the village chief, makes up and fakes an attack from a monsterous beast to both scare and extort the chief. When the resulting paranoia and hysteria cause the village to lash out against the local wildlife, though, it's up to Reynard to fix his own mistake.
The Red Hare of the Three Kingdoms: Chì Tù, mightest of the horses under Dong Zhuo, had thought that he had no equal... until he was given to one Lü Bu as part of an aliance, forming a partnership that takes the horse straigh into the heart of the greatest war in China's history.
A Dog in the Tudor Court: In England, near the end of the reigh of Henry VIII, a theater troup begins receiving script from an unexpected source: the pet spaniel of Prince Edward, who takes inspiration from the eccentric personalities of the Tudor Court.
Togo and Balto: Two sled dogs from the town of Nome, Alaska, one a prodigy and the other more of a scrub, are put on seperate legs of a very dangerous run to delivery some urgently needed medicine to the townsfolk. Even if they survive the run, though, the aftermath might separate the two for good...
Lobo, Outlaw of Currumpaw: A hunter comes to the Currumpaw Valley in New Mexico in order to take on the wolf Lobo, who has been terrorizing the local settlements. However, as the effects that the settlements have had on the orginal inhabitants of the land, including Lobo's pack, come to light, it's seems that Lobo's fury isn't unfounded...
The Legend of Danzaburou: During Oda Nobunaga's unfication of Japan, a tanuki warrior named Danzaburou defends his home of Sado Island by using trickery to get the upper hand on his opponents. Soon, his feats start to become more and more exaggerated by rumors, to the point that people have begun to believe him a powerful yokai, and he ends up in a confentation with Nobunaga himself.
Kitten on the Ship of Dreams: A pet cat has been fighting for his owners' affections with their son, and it doesn't seem things are going to change in that regard during the maiden voyage of the Titanic. That all changes, though, when the ship runs into an iceburg and both are seperated from their family and must work together to escape alive.
Successors of Laika: Belka and Strelka, two stray dogs, join the Soviet space program to follow in the footsteps of the legendary Laika... and hopeful avoid her tragic fate.
A Dog in the Tutor Court: In England, near the end of the reigh of Henry VIII, a theater troup begins receiving script from an unexpected source: the pet spaniel of Prince Edward, who takes inspiration from the eccentric personalities of the Tutor Court.
I know I've made a lot of promises about pitches in the past, and haven't really lived up to them(booo!), but I have been working hard on them(No, really guys, I swear . Seriously though, for Undertale, I've been straight up pulling from even shit like novelizations, the official book about the series development, tons of youtube animations, and more. I'm hard at work baby😤Not to mention my 50 something other pitches that are just languishing half finished😖😫).
However, I've had a very stressful few days this past week or two and so I wanted to take the time off to just do something for me and do a pitch that I could pump pretty easily and quickly based on one of my favorite games. I utterly adore this game. I remember watching Pewdiepie back in the day playing through this game, as well as the likes of Witch's House, Ib, Misao, and other similar games. I still go back every so often and rewatch his playthrough of Mad Father and just enjoy the game and his commentary while reminiscing about simpler times.
Despite being such a big horror geek now, I wasn't always into the genre. When I was younger, I used to piss my britches at the thought of horror and scary movies or games. In fact, I distinctly remember actually doing that while watching Goosebumps on television as a kid. All I remember from that episode was two kids, a brother and a sister, an attic, and a weird Yoda-looking motherfucker.
I was really scared of horror, despite not consuming much of it, because just the idea alone scared me. I would psych myself out thinking about how horrible and scary things like Freddy Kreuger, It, or Chucky were without ever having seen them. Things like Slappy and Chucky especially terrified me, and I was scared of dolls for years.
Then one day, I got the random opportunity to watch a Chucky/Child's Play movie. I remember this day vividly and I remember how everything was, where everything was, the feeling of the summer sun, etc. I remember it all very clearly. I wasn't initially going to watch it, but I psyched myself up and told myself that I couldn't keep being a baby about this forever and I had to face my fears somehow. And so I had watched the film. Guess what Chucky movie it was? Go on....I'll wait....It was Seed of Chucky.
That movie was so stupid and silly and I remember sitting there and thinking to myself, "why the hell was I scared of this, again?" I was disappointed with the film, but it got me thinking, what if there were other horror movies that I thought were scary, but were actually not so scary? And thus, I begun my journey through Horror Geekdom and discovering my love for horror.
When it comes to horror, I've always held a special love for the smaller productions and more indie or indie adjacent productions. I couldn't quite put why into words, but I find the experience usually much more enjoyable overall. This same love and feeling carries over into horror games. I absolutely love smaller or indie productions or the lower budget titles. But I found a particular love for RPG Maker and RPG Maker-style games. There's just something about them that I can't help but fall in love with and many of my top favorite games are games of this nature.
I wanted to share that passion with all of you lovelies. I fully recommend to everyone that you watch a playthrough of this game if you find the time. It shouldn't take you too long and if you have any hang-ups about Pewdiepie specifically, I know ManlyBadassHero did a playthrough of the remake. Although, I admittingly am not a big fan of the changes made by the remake, but Manly is always a treat. But that's enough about me and my big mouth. What am I, some kind of narcissist?
I want to give a special thanks to @overmind for his help with coming up with a composer and voice actors for this project. Couldn't have done it without ya'!
And without further ado, may I present to you all.....
Movie Pitch: Mad Father Written by: Mavis Kingsley Directed by: Don Bluth Score by: Danny Elfman
SYNOPSIS: In Northern Germany, 11 year-old Aya Drevis lives a quiet and idyllic life with her parents, Alfred and Monika Drevis, and their maid, Maria. Aya's mother is incredibly ill, while her father performs his gruesome research in secret in the basement with the assistance of Maria. Neither Aya nor Monika are aware of the true extent of Alfred's research, but both accept it out of their love for him. When Aya is just 10 years old, her mother suddenly passes away from what Aya believes was her illness. On the 1-year anniversary of her death, Aya awakens at midnight to find that her home has been inflicted with a curse set out by her mother, and that the victims of her father's experiments have come to life. Aya sets out to rescue her father, who has been taken captive by the spirit of her mother, with the assistance of one of her father's victims within the house named Robin, and a mysterious salesman named Ogre. She must explore the depths of her father's laboratory and try to save her father, who may not be exactly what he seems.
In Northern Germany, 11 year-old Aya Drevis lives with her parents, Alfred and Monika Drevis, and their maid, Maria. Aya is a shy girl who never goes outside. Her mother, Monika Drevis, was incredibly ill, while her father while her father performs his gruesome research on "eternal beauty" in secret in the basement with the assistance of Maria. Aya is aware that her father experiments on and kills humans in the basement, as well as the fact that he is having an affair with the younger Maria, a former homeless woman he had taken off the street some years prior. However, neither Aya nor Monika are aware of the true extent of Alfred's research, but both accept it out of their love for him. When Aya is just 10 years old, her mother suddenly passes away from what Aya believes was her illness. On the 1-year anniversary of her death, Aya awakens at midnight to find that her home has been inflicted with a curse set out by her mother, and that the victims of her father's experiments have come to life and finds herself surrounded by test subjects that escaped from the laboratory. Fleeing back into her room, Aya encounters the mysterious salesman Ogre, who offers her the task of surviving the horrors of the mansion and navigating through to break into her father's laboratory and uncover his secret. Aya discovers that her father had intended to perform taxidermy on her and convert her into a doll, as he had done to numerous other children, having been enamored with preserving humans after having killed his own mother as a youth. Aya saves her father from being taken by her mother's spirit. However, after doing so, Aya and her father are returned to the lab where her mother's ghost shows Aya how she died and reveals to Aya that her father murdered her for one of his experiments. Her father was worried by how Aya had the same murderous and psychopathic tendencies as him, so he decided to kill her and make her into a doll in order to keep her pure forever. Monika confronted him about this and decided to take Aya away, but Alfred killed her instead. Shocked by the revelation, Aya starts crawling away from her father and hits a container, holding her mother's corpse. No longer feeling the need to feign ignorance, Aya's father reveals to her what he had been doing all this time: turning humans into dolls via taxidermy and he intends to do the same to Aya. Alfred proceeds to chase after Aya with a chainsaw. While attempting to escape, she runs into Maria who joins Alfred in the chase. Maria attempts to follow her, but Aya hides under a tarp alongside a corpse. When Maria fails to capture her, Alfred attacks Maria out of frustration and storms off. Aya helps Maria, declaring that the two shall henceforth live together. Maria temporarily joins Aya until they reach a long hallway, where Aya runs off without her and as she's running away, is held down by another doll. Aya's father catches up and prepares to strike Aya when Maria appears and throws knives at him. Just as Maria begins comforting Aya, the doctor tries once more to kill Aya, but Robin kills him and order Maria and Aya to leave the mansion and start anew. As the mansion is set on fire, he places a kiss on Aya's forehead in reference to the good luck charm her mother gave her. Meanwhile, inside the burning house, Ogre approaches Alfred's corpse and takes him to his realm, where he is free to experiment to his heart's content. Just as Aya prepares to leave with Maria, Aya notices that her father's medical book/notes has survived the blaze, and decides to take it with her as she and Maria start their lives anew. Some years later, Aya and Maria have opened up a clinic, where they provide medical services free of charge. A poor young woman named Jean Rooney arrives for an examination, and Aya uses anesthesia to render Jean unconscious, claiming that Jean will no longer suffer from her illnesses and that she has beautiful eyes. In another room, Maria muses that Aya has become just like her father and that the tendencies run in the family, all but confirming that Aya has followed in her father's footsteps.
Aya Drevis: The 11 year old daughter of Monika and Alfred Drevis. She's very devoted to her parents, despite being aware of her father's actions, showcasing her lack of empathy to anyone that isn't herself or her parents. Through her experiences during the events of the film, she comes to understand the pain and feelings of others, like her father's victims or Maria.
Played By: Aileen Quinn Alternate: Judith Barsi, Linda Blair, Heather O'Rourke
Alfred Drevis: Aya's father, a brilliant but unhinged scientist. Ever since he was a boy, he was obsessed with eternal beauty, and sought a way to make beauty last forever, even after death. His solution was to turn people into living dolls. He gets kidnapped by the spirit of his wife, forcing Aya to save him.
Played By: Mark Hamill Alternate: Christopher Walken, Christopher Lloyd
Maria: Alfred's assistant. She was a homeless orphan whom Alfred originally intended to experiment on, but he changed his mind when she proved to be medically talented. Like Aya, she is devoted to Alfred and is willing to do whatever he says. Neither Monika nor Aya like her because of her affair with Alfred, though Aya comes to care for and sympathize with her learning about her past and why she is so devoted to her father.
Played By: Carol Kane Alternate: Melody Anderson, Kristine Sutherland
Monika Drevis: A beautiful, enigmatic woman who died prior to the events of the film, only to return as a spirit and capture her husband.
Played By: Priscilla Presley Alternate: Melody Anderson
Ogre: A mysterious man whom informs Aya about the curse. It's never stated who or what he is, but it's implied that he is a demon. Unbeknownst to Aya, he is the one who helped Monika place the curse.
Played By: James Earl Jones Alternate: Carel Struycken
Robin: Originally an orphan taken in by Alfred so he could be experimented on, he is an undead boy that Aya encounters in the mansion who occasionally shows up to help her. He interacted with Aya a few times in the past, but she doesn't remember him at all, until she sees his memories. He was killed by Alfred, but was brought back to life by Monika so that he could protect Aya.
Played By: Keith Coogan Alternate: Corey Feldman
If you'd like a reference point for how I imagine Mark Hamill's performance within this film, I imagine it sounds similar to his performance as Colonel Muska from Castle in the Sky, along with the madness found in his iconic portrayals of the Joker once Alfred's madness is revealed to Aya.
The film takes inspiration from soundtrack of the game, simply adjusted to be more like a film score as opposed to a game soundtrack. It also has more music from Danny Elfman to better match the film.
Aya's Theme is played in the film but is done initially without any lyrics, so as to trick people into believing it's just pleasant music from an innocent girl or be made to think of the Greensleeves folksong it's based on. However, at the end of the film at the credits, Aya's Theme will play again, but this time with lyrics, based on the fan created lyrics for Aya's Theme. This grants an opportunity to capitalize on the ending twist and to further reveal Aya's true nature and how she had always been just as twisted as her father by recontextualizing once innocent scenes and making them deeply disturbing and troubling in retrospect. Once the music finishes, Aya's Theme will simply keep playing for the rest of the credits without lyrics and with Aya continuing to hum or Lala to the music.
Author's Notes: I pictured this picture(heh) probably being produced sometime around the mid to late-80s. As an aside, you may have noticed, I attributed this pitch as having been written by one Mavis Kingsley. She is intended to by my own original character addition to the Lucasfilm staff, like others in the thread have done. I originally intended to have her first script be the Undertale pitch, as I had made it all thematic and topical with her backstory and with being the "spy" for Universal during the internal screening of Star Wars before choosing to stay and I was going to do an Omake to open up the pitch and everything. Unfortunately, Undertale is coming along very slowly and I didn't want to wait forever to put up any pitch that had something to do with her. So I've decided that I can simply retroactively establish Undertale as her first script through the Omake once the pitch goes up. I'm honestly not fully satisfied with the voice actors, but this is ultimately me being my perfectionist and anal retentive self and can always be adjusted once we do casting.
Fair warning, these videos were made like 10 years ago, so there are 1 or 2 slurs casually used. It doesn't affect my enjoyment of the video, but if it will effect your enjoyment, then I recommend you watch ManlyBadassHero's Playthrough instead.

You looked at Carrie and played with her hair as you both just sat down, enjoying the sun and the nice day outside. "So what are we going to do?" You asked. "I'm not going to be leaving on random adventures, but we're going to need to talk about… well our finances."
Carrie sighed. "You can just take a break from producing and maybe go back to Television? Why are you worried about that?"
You sighed. "Well we're not exactly going to be making lots of money from our films once things start settling down-" She stopped you by placing a finger on your lips.
"I'm sure we'll be fine." She said. "Stop worrying and enjoy the simple things."
"I would hardly call this a simple thing." You replied.
"Well, I think it would be better if we just deal with things when they come." She said. "Because you always seem to be at your best when you are quick on your feet."

Say guys, I've been thinking about making a Zombie movie. Now, what I was mostly thinking is that we could do the Resident Evil movie, but the problem there is that I don't want to butterfly away the Franchise. But, if you look at the first movie, it barely has anything to do with the Videogame itself. You could change some of the Canon names (Umbrella Corporation, T-Virus, Raccoon City, Nemesis Program) and it then becomes something unrecognizable to Resident Evil at all.
So, what do you think of making said movie now, with the changes to the names, and perhaps making it as part of the Romero movies, calling it something like "Origin of the Dead" giving an explanation as to how it happened.
I don't particularly like the Resident Evil series; I'd rather see something like 28 Days Later, Legend, heck even Shaun of the Dead. Or a proper World War Z mockumentary series, but either less fucked up or more self-aware tongue-in-cheek satire.
You sighed. "Well we're not exactly going to be making lots of money from our films once things start settling down-" She stopped you by placing a finger on your lips.
Not sure what movie or not too start but all those other action at Lucas sound useful.
Maybe do some theater and action directing or something to stay close.
Ps do we want too fight Ali? Not feeling it myself?
Its less that it isn't enough to live on, and more that Bruce likes working and acting and wants to keep doing both while also remaining in the LA Area.
If we do work stuff will that affect us being a good parent? Cause honestly I wanted Bruce to take a couple months of paternity leave and just be with Carrie but it seems like with the choices you want us to do some career stuff.
Actually it's more than 600 million cause Bruce never spent that 250 million on Marvel and TV, not to mention he's got Star Wars toys money and Carrie's got music royalties and Body pillow money, which honestly might make her richer than Bruce.

Oh no, that will all be next turn, and no it won't effect unless you leave the city/country, because otherwise Bruce is going to just be working 9 to 5 like a normal person and be home to be a dad.

[]Batman: A young producer named Kathleen Kennedy came to your door and basically laid out something that made you think she was going behind a lot of people's backs for this. "Listen, Mister O'Brian, I'm being blunt here. Colombia doesn't know I'm here to tell you this, but I am asking for your assurances that you will take it under advisement. We're about to start the production of a Batman movie, and I think you're perfect to play a young Batman. DC: ???
Oh boy this is super interesting. Should we consider doing this? Do we know if this will be Tim Burton Batman, or is the director and script still up in the air?
All in all, they seem good options. Now, I would personally like to keep Kathleen Kennedy as far away from us as possible, but I will bow to the majority if they want to try for the Batman role. I think we should also try to distribute something from out Japanese imports, and of course go to a Comic Con as part of the Media Blitz.
Aside from that, buying the rights for Minority Report, and perhaps doing some work on Television. We can't forget the christmas party either. And there's Ali's challenge.
Hey @Magoose , have we finished the Cultural animation fro PBS? Did they like it?
If this Batman film does come out in the 70s, I think to suit the tone of what Batman comics were like at this period of time, it should be kind of a horror movie.
Yes Batman has been Gothic, and it's been Noir, and it's been a thriller, but in the 70s it was really leaning on horror elements. We can lean into that, yes with great action but also showing a genre Bruce hasn't done yet which is horror. Batman can be scary, and I think it would be fun to lean into that.
Or if people don't like it, this is also when Ra's Al Ghul and his daughter Talia appears in comics, so we can just have cool fight scenes with assassins I guess.
