Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Actually, it may surprise you.

But who was cast as Kane was:

D20 => 3

And up-and-coming Anglo Irish Actor named Pierce Brosnan, who came highly recommended by George and Mark Hamil.

He was hired because Robert Englund, Robert Redford, Sylvester Stallone, Arnold, Christopher Reeves, Ian McKellen, Michael Bein, and Mark Hamil himself couldn't find time in their schedules to shoot or even audition.

Martin was scrambling to get an actor before he began production, and he was scrambling to find one. Hell he almost delayed the film by a year so he could possibly hire Bruce because he didn't have his Solomon Kane.

Then Pierce Blew it out of the Water, and got a role of a lifetime.

Besides that guys, with the money from Close Encounters In the Third Kind... what should we invest them in?
Company expansions and upgrades, IP/Adaptation rights, a couple of small projects that don't need us intimately involved, more land(someone earlier in the thread suggested the Irvine Corporation?), Apple investments, and probably a bunch of other shit too.

Blimey! Pierce Brosnan! In OTL he should still be playing in theaters in Britain and getting rave reviews and praise. I don't think the British are going to like the Goose once more taking the British acting communityone of their up and coming thespians just as he's making a name for himself there.

Still, having Brosnan as Solomon Kane could work. He gives just the right amount of deadly and caring if his role as James Bond has anything to say. Would he be down to continue playing the role in the future films? I've been working on a thrid one for the Frnachise to make sure we have at the very least a trilogy. But I'm sure I can make more.

[X]No

Not only is it a pretty damn good film that would probably be our best if it wasn't for Star Wars, but it's been too long and Bruce needs to be home with his wife and become a Dad. Amazing rolls all around, it seems Magoose Dice gave us some mercy for the shit Bruce had to go through and I can see why Bruce isn't super depressed considering the amazing movie he made, probably going to be one of the best adaptations of all time. Looks like Conan will walk so Lord of the Rings will run.

Some of my favorite highlights of the rolls were Bruce getting a nat 100 and a 385. If my boy doesn't get Best Actor then we gotta burn the Academy to the ground. Jackie Chan apparently has an outstanding Western debut with the second best performance so he gets his big break and Hollywood fame years early and shares the spotlight with Bruce and Chuck Norris as Bruce Lee's successor. Christopher Lloyd of all people is now an action/fantasy star so Doc Brown can kick some ass. Sarah Douglas may become mainstream with this and Superman II. James Earl Jones has an oustanding live action performance and will become known as more than Vader. Apparently we're total bros with Jackie and Christopher and VFX are outstanding and prove why Lucasfilms is the master of movies. Spielberg did great and I'm so hyped for Return of the Jedi even though we've yet to do Empire, lol.

Sad about the score and Nick Cage's rolls but overall acceptable.

Sad that Nic couldn't go full Cage but I think it's a pretty respectable debut. All his role called for was exploring, discovering Conan's tomb and having a conversation with Max. There really wasn't much he could do to shine, and it's important to remember he's a 13 year old kid with zero acting experience. About the best we could expect, but we didn't need much more and now Nic has certainly begun his proper journey as The Cage.

What are you talking about, take away the bad makeup and bad music, and that fucking film is gold! Easily Romero's Best film.

I've seen it over 10 times.

Sorry. Started out pretty strong and then about 15 minutes after they got to the mall the filler action stuff and slow pace just really dragged things down and turned it from an 8 to a 5-6. I think the biggest things for me are the bad makeup and music as it was tough to treat them as real zombies when it's just people with purple face paint and the music was absolutely atrocious in how it turned what was supposed to be horror scenes into wacky Scooby-Doo with guns. The action could also bring it down as there's dozens of moments where a character is trapped in the clutches of a Zombie, and whereas in any modern movie they'd be bit they just get playfully swiped and gnawed on gently until they manage to break free and shoot the zombies. I can see why many people would love it and I can respect such, but just not vibing with me.

Also Magoose, has Cat's second kid been born and what's their name?

It wouldn't hurt to reroll, we get the higher regardless.

NO! Bruce has got to go home to be with his princess and become a Papa Goose.

...I liked Zack Snyder's better (There, I've said It!).
HERESY! HERITIC! :V

(It's actually pretty good too.)

Actually watched the Snyder version last week and it was decently good. Had some fun though main issues for me were how half the cast were pointless redshirts, a few eggregious stupidball moments, and the ending in my opinion was way too mean spirited even for a Zombie movie.

@Magoose Remind me, please. This was Nick's first film, in-universe?

Fun fact, Nicolas Cage is a HUGE comic book fan to the point where he spent $8 million collecting comics and he changed his name to Nic Cage because his favorite hero is Luke Cage and he wanted to be a cool actor like Power Man. Whenever we inevitably get a Spider-Noir show or movie, no matter if it's live action or animated there's no doubt Nic's gonna be gunning for the role.

He has been born and his name is Bruce.

Well if Conan is the Staple in which fantasy adaptations are done, LOTR might be the next Conan, rather then the LOTR.

And then he decides to go to Marvel so that he can be a super hero.

Any super hero and go full cage.

While Lovecraft's rights are an ugly mess there's one horror author we can turn to. And that's Stephen King. He already likes us because we're associated with the Carrie adaptation. We should make more movies based on his books. Like The Shining. And if we are good enough we could the right of first refusal regarding adapting any future books he might write. Like a certain killer clown book.

While I had recently said that Bruce O'Brian shouldn't act in every movie, I do think that we could play a decent Jack Torrance. And play him closer to the book instead of having Nicholson do his thing. Though it might break suspension of disbelief to have Han Solo running around with an axe.

Oh, and Clive Barker. Make sure that Hellraiser isn't a bunch of basically unrelated direct to video movies.

What does the Nat 1 on the production roll in the update before the last imply? The text says nothing bad happened. So, is it actually good, or seems good but is secretly bad?

I still think we should leave that to Universal. Kubrick completely made that movie what it is and it would be a fucking shame to see that erased. And letting them do it still benefits us because Stephen King hated that film and actually made his own version later on(not that good). So letting Kubrick do the film means that not only does The Shining still come into being, but because King doesn't like the film and already really likes us and our adaptation of Carrie, it means he may choose to go exclusively through Lucasfilm for adaptations.

Alright. There are options. There's Salem's Lot and in 78 he'll publish The Stand. Though that should be done as either a TV series or a film saga. Children of the Corn is also an option. I don't think you're as intent on having those films exist ITTL. Raiding King's short stories would work in general.

All good suggestions. In addition, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark was first published in '81 and I think it would also be a strong addition to our budding horror lineup and can serve as our equivalent to Tales From the Crypt or Goosebumps. I also like your Clive Barker suggestion, particularly because he did a surprisingly good job directing the film.

I like all of your ideas.

We have a few years to wait until Barker is a viable source of inspiration. His first anthology series won't start publishing until 1984. And that has quite a few stories to utilize. I have some ideas. Including finding a black filmmaker to basically create a version of the OTL Candyman.

And, of course, I'd leave Hellraiser just about untouched.

Carrie is thinking on something, also she named George the godfather so... expect something fun

Wow that's cool, really strong sign of how close the O'Brians and Lucas' are and I presume Marcia would be the Godmother and Bruce and Carrie would be the same for George III? Unfortunately George and Marcia are Methodists so they can't be Godparents for the Baptism. So I guess that role goes to Sarah and William and George and Marcia would serve as witnesses and be the Gosling's full-time Godparents outside the church since the families are close and they live in LA versus Sarah and her family who live in Ireland so not much chance to be an active Godparent, not too different from a lot of people's situations.

This film is very good, let's not worry about reshoots and go be with Carrie. We don't want to be on a different continent in the off chance she goes into premature labor.

Also I'm sure Bruce needs to take some 'new dad' classes, like learning diapers and other stuff you need to know when having a baby. Maybe get used to wearing a bjorn, so you can carry the baby around easily.
