Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

All I'm going to say about Eddie is this.

He has truly legitimate reasons to try and reconnect with his daughter.

Whether they are good reasons is entirely up to your opinion of the guy.

[X] "In the grand scheme of things, I wasn't thinking, I was living. I was living a pretty good life, the kind where I was lucky enough, and talented enough, to follow my dreams, and when my friend [George Lucas] approached me with his, I was in a position to help, so that's what I chose to do. All that, to walk in the sun with my friends, because George's vision was that bright."

[X] "A lot happened, but the main thing is is that we all had fun making this, got to use the full tool box making this movie. Got to see a world unseen by all but George slowly build itself out of the blue...hell, one of our guys gave us a taste of the future when he accidentally built one of those new sand batteries some of you've seen floating around. But it was nerve wracking to be in charge of something like this, a grand experiment between all of us."

[X] "Easy answer, we're cocky. Long answer, we've seen what each of us can do when we put our nose to the grindstone, and decided that we can stand stronger together. If we're afraid of what's coming our way, it's only because if we didn't, we couldn't guard against it the right way, and couldn't rise to the challenge."

That made him angry. "I am her father!" He demanded rage in his tone. "I was there when she was born!"

"And where were you for the other 16 years of her life you jackass? Why was infant Todd not good enough for you? How come you're not with her half-sisters?"

Damn, some really powerful emotional stuff and drama with Eddie.I guess we've been blessed not to have to deal with this stuff until now, and probably for the best we sort it all out before Bruce and Carrie have kids so Carrie can deal with the last of her trauma. I don't think Eddie has fully come to see the error of his ways and is fully repentant, but I think whatever he wants he is genuine and not doing this as some sort of long con, though he's most definitely not likely to go at this the right way.

I don't think Eddie is a completely terrible person but I do think he is absolute shit at romance and family. Some important reminders, Eddie OTL had five wives and he was married for a total of 20 years with an average of four years per wife. He's currently on wife number four who he married last year and is going to divorce this year. He left Debbie Reynolds for Elizabeth Taylor who he pushed into converting to Judaism and proclaimed was the love of his life only to dump her five years later (Debbie and Carrie don't hold any grudges against Elizabeth for this and Carrie actually helped the two reconcile at the start of the decade). He cheated on Debbie with Elizabeth Taylor while Elizabeth's husband, his best friend who he named Todd after had just been dead for weeks. He left Carrie and Todd when she was two and Todd wasn't even a year old yet. He has two other daughters with his third wife who he abandoned and apparently they seem him even less than Carrie and Todd.

Sadly in spite of all of this, he was actually the best of Debbie's husbands.

If he is genuine about all of this, you have to wonder how he's reconciling, or if he's even doing so with Todd and his other daughters Joely and Tricia Fisher. While Todd took it better than Carrie, his birth did seem to cause Eddie's fade in parental responsibility and he left before Todd was even one which has gotta hurt bad. Plus Eddie seems to be hyperfocused around Carrie and not care about Todd, and considering Bruce loves Todd as a brother that does not fly with him just as much as his poor fathering of Carrie. And if he doesn't care about his second pair of children, why should Carrie and Todd believe any love from him is genuine?

Overall best to just leave this to Carrie, but it's gonna take Magoose Dice for this to have a completely happy ending.

Doesn't he have debts? I think I remember it being mentioned in-thread before.

That was Debbie's second husband Harry Karl. Eddie for all of his faults isn't in financial trouble, but at this point he's pretty much been cemented as a has-been who Baby Boomers don't know about at all, and if they do then he's just known as the asshole dad who abandoned Carrie O'Brian.

"We have been hearing a lotta buzz around a film called Star Wars, where you are one of the big characters, uh, could you tell us a little bit about it? On the production side, I mean"

Is Johnny asking what Star Wars is about and to explain the plot and characters or is he asking how production went?

-[X] "Well so far Star Wars is tied with Five Dates for my favorite production I've worked on and I think when all is said and done Star Wars is going to be my favorite movie and one of if not the greatest in history, an opinion I think a lot of people will share too. Every day from the start of pre-production to our ongoing post-production journey has been an incredible experience and I'm so blessed and thankful to George that he chose to let me be a part of this adventure. Every single aspect and minute detail lined up to make the best film we could possibly make, and at several times the cast and crew went beyond what I thought possible to give us perfection. Every single cast member went above and beyond the script, becoming one with their characters and giving some of the best performances I've seen. The crew worked brilliantly each day to give us the tools and stage we needed to tell the greatest story ever told. ILM is making the impossible possible and working magic with their special effects, in some cases literally making new technology to show a galaxy, far, far away. Plus all of this was thanks to the brilliant mind of George Lucas, a man who I promise is going to go down in history as a visionary and one of the greats, creating a grand adventure that is both timeless and and revolutionary as a story, the tale of a band of heroes taking a stand against evil in a galaxy far, far away. Ultimately, there is one aspect of working on Star Wars that is always going to be my favorite, that being it was my first film I got to work together with Carrie, and right after we got married. Growing up, my Dad always told me and my siblings to do what we loved for a living, and almost every day for filming I got to do what I love with the woman I love. It's just incredible to see Carrie in action and create a work of art with her, and after two movies I'm looking forward to making as many with Carrie as we can. I love her and I'm so happy and grateful to be her husband."
-[X] "There are some days where the business can be frustrating and our competition does its best to make sure the odds are stacked as you say, but from the moment Lucasfilms was created we saw the film industry as a challenge to face head on and have fully embraced the difficulty of planting our foot in the door. We may not have the experience, film library or institutional strength of our competitors; but what we do have is a pool of the most talented men and women in Hollywood from top to bottom, all of whom filled with the drive, passion and vision to more than match any of the established titans. While most movies are trying to chase trends and simple profits, we're always looking to innovate and create art as the first or best of the stories told. Lucasfilms maybe fighting a battle of David and Goliath, but never once have we been scared and each day we embrace every challenge thrown at us. I like to think that because of such we always manage to push ourselves to the finish line and create the best movies possible."

Overall really liked @Orion Ultor first response so I will give credit for that, but the other two rubbed me a bit in the wrong way with Bruce devoting half of the Star Wars answer to sand battery advertising and being a bit too cocky in the third one. So I decided to go with Bruce hyping the movie up and being a praise machine while also gushing over Carrie, and in the third one going into detail on how they meet the challenge head on and become better because of it.

I think its a bit too long in my opinion but ok

He's asking how production went. And if he can steal a little bit of the plot from you.

"It all began, with the day he was born.."

(Later)

"So the Main Hero..Dr. Lukenshmirtz, was from Drusselstein, was abandoned and raised by Ocelots, hired by an organization called "OWCA", gets fired, then went on to become an Evil Genius with a Pharmacist Cloak battling a Blue Rectangular Platypus?"

"Yes Johnny, yes he is."

1976 Clean Atomic Recycling and Energy Act

[LOADING IMAGES]

Senator Gaylord Nelson and Bruce O'Brian at the signing
In 1976, the United States was facing a looming energy crisis. Fossil fuels, which had been the primary source of energy for the nation, were running low, and nuclear power was seen as the future. However, people were concerned about the safety of nuclear power, and there were fears about the amount of nuclear waste that would be produced.

As a solution to this problem, the C.A.R.E. Act was introduced, focusing on reducing nuclear waste, repurposing coal mines into nuclear power plants, and utilizing sand batteries. The Act was spearheaded by actor Bruce O'Brian and Senator Gaylord Nelson, who were both passionate about addressing the energy crisis and reducing the impact on the environment.

The American public had mixed reactions to the C.A.R.E. Act. Some were skeptical of the safety of nuclear power, while others welcomed the innovation and the potential benefits that the Act could bring. There were also concerns about the use of coal mines for nuclear power plants, as some feared it could lead to the neglect of renewable energy sources.

Despite the mixed reactions, the C.A.R.E. Act was passed, and work began on repurposing coal mines into nuclear power plants. Sand batteries were also further developed, providing a new source of energy that was environmentally friendly and sustainable.

As time passed, the benefits of the C.A.R.E. Act became obvious. Nuclear power plants were successful in reducing the nation's dependence on fossil fuels, and sand batteries were a reliable source of energy. The Act had not only addressed the energy crisis but had also contributed towards a cleaner and healthier environment.

Today, the legacy of the C.A.R.E. Act lives on, with its innovative solutions still being used to address current energy challenges. The Act was a turning point in the nation's energy history, and it demonstrated the power of collaboration between politicians, scientists, and the public in addressing pressing issues.
