Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

[X] Plan Fly Me to the Moon 2.0

Damn, I really wanted to give MIchael Jackson his first role, but I guess we can give him a better one later on.

Well Michael does get first preference to be one of Walter's friends it's just that he isn't in the lineup for the lead. Really shame we can't get Michael a billing part, but unfortunately he did kind of wander in right as we were about to film a movie which is basically Carrie's love letter to Bruce.

I was hoping for Lucasfilms to try and have a Halloween movie every year, so maybe shuffle the horror movies around a bit? We have a couple of other horror movie scripts floating around I think, also I don't think that the Star Wars sequels would be off schedule unless we plan for that. And Rocky 2 is absolutely going to happen.

Overall, decent list.

I have a question, Magoose, would this be the proper format for the 1976 Bi-Partisan Nuclear Energy Initiative, or would it better if it were attached to either Investments or O'Reilly Foundation?

--[] 1976 Bi-Partisan Nuclear Energy Initiative [ $Price ]: This initiative aims to reduce America's dependence on foreign energy and protect the environment through various measures. The initiative intends to convert old coal plants into nuclear reactors to improve the general air quality, recycle nuclear waste via methods discovered by Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois, and reduce the overall cost of electricity as a utility to a more reasonable standard. By converting decommissioned coal plants into nuclear reactors, the initiative aims to reduce carbon emissions, which can have detrimental effects on the environment, and transitioning the nation away from coal at a reasonable rate and retaining the workforce. Additionally, the recycling of nuclear waste aims to minimize the environmental impact of nuclear waste disposal while also reducing nuclear waste. The initiative also hopes to reduce the overall cost of electricity to make it more affordable and accessible to all citizens, utilizing energy retention devices ("Sand Batteries") while still meeting the country's energy needs. Overall, the Bi-Partisan Energy Initiative is a comprehensive effort to protect the environment while also ensuring access to affordable energy for all Americans.
--[] Bi-Partisan Nuclear Waste Recycling Initiative [ $Price ]: While going over a few proposals for documentaries that have crossed your desk in recent weeks, you came across one for nuclear energy and, curious, you found that the Argonne National Laboratory in Illinois has found a way to recycle nuclear waste byproduct that has been a threat to the environment. After finding that it was something that brought Tesla's dream of free energy closer to reality, you began petitioning the state to ensure the safety of these United States that this was not only something that would aid the common man, and industry in general, in driving down energy costs but also an opportunity for creating a new series of jobs for active duty military, veterans and their families that would ensure a more energy independent and environmentally safer United States. From what you've heard, it might incentivize the more...thrift-minded individuals that the switch from Coal to Nuclear might be as simple as converting old coal plants into nuclear reactors...

I'm asking mainly because I am of the belief that, given the Election Cycle is rapidly approaching, it would be the best to get this onto the docket before Jimmy Carter gets anywhere close to becoming President Elect and creating the laws that will make Nuclear Waste recycling illegal next year, as it will become increasingly more difficult to sway the Senate and Congress in the coming months and I am trying to avoid a protracted legal battle.

Separately, what would be a reasonable price for the Action? I'm thinking $15 Million to get the ball rolling, but I am open to suggestions.

I mean, that's why they're listed in Q3, qnd I was pretty sure we were talking about releasing SW on Christmas instead.

I just had a vague idea for a Don Quixote pitch with Cantinflas as Sancho Panza.

Turns out that the man actually played exactly that role in an (apparently pretty meh) 1973 adaptation with -of all people- Fernando Fernan Gomez as Don Quixote.

Weird.

Is it wrong that I am extremely happy in seeing that… cause I am.

Is it wrong that I am extremely happy in seeing that… cause I am.
I think I just got the green light, which means in the next two(?) regular turns before we get to the Olympics since we'll be deep into the Election Cycle any time after...t least that's the vibe I'm getting, correct me if I'm wrong (usually am, so w would be nice).

Mentioning time sensitive actions, I'd like to try these as well in the next few turns as well, though in their case it's more that we have a window of opportunity to boost public interest in them: The Conditioning and Exercise Athletics Program [Bruce Lee Gym] and Goose Gardens [Housing Development].

The former because I think that, after the smashing success of the Olympiad and heightened interest in the Olympics, we might be able to attract greater attendance numbers for the gym (btw how's it currently doing numbers wise, Magoose?) in the interest of swaying other Olympic hopefuls to our side (and maybe a specific, Austrian body builder?) and maybe getting them to work for us (and/or LucasFilm). The latter, because not only is it the right thing to do to help people and the community at large (and hopefully prevents LA from getting super out of hand with smog), but because I think we can use it as it an opportunity to dismantle redlining and other systemic issues throughout the various communities, thus breaking down one of Ali's major complaints against us before we make any attempt at going Heavyweight after [though I do recognize that is probably a little too optimistic].

[] The Bruce Lee Memorial Gymnasium: Open to the general public and offers an adult accreditation programs as well as an After School program for underprivileged children.
-[] Part II: The Conditioning and Exercise Athletics Program:
The Conditioning and Exercise Athletics Program is designed to teach individuals how to properly exercise and condition their physical abilities. The program focuses on building strength, flexibility, agility, balance, and endurance through a combination of bodyweight exercises, cardio, yoga, and stretching.

Students will receive personalized training based on their fitness levels and goals, learning proper techniques and approaches to exercise to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness. The program is also designed to educate participants on the importance of injury prevention and proper recovery through various mindfulness practices and self-care techniques.

Beyond just the physical aspect, the program also emphasizes the importance of developing a healthy mindset surrounding exercise and fitness. This includes building confidence and self-image and developing a positive relationship with physical activity that can be applied to all areas of life.

The program is open to all fitness levels and goals, from beginners looking to establish a foundation to more experienced individuals seeking to take their fitness to new heights. The Conditioning and Exercise Athletics Program is a comprehensive and accessible program that provides individuals with the knowledge and tools needed to lead a healthier, more active lifestyle.

-[] Housing Development: Goose Gardens [$15 Million]: After having read Ildefons Cerdà's original plans for Barcelona [during one of your visits to the Library with Carrie], you've come to realize that with your considerable capital you could actually implement his plans on a widescale level and improve the lives of ordinary folk by a considerable margin. In that vein, you've decided to take a look a look at various locations throughout the greater Los Angeles metropolitan area (and one day, the rest of the state) that would suit your project and taking steps to reach ouut to a reputable Civil Engineer to bring your vision to life, one where a developed urban center and affordable apartment housing can coexist with nature in harmony; there's space for educational and religious centers, so that any and all who live within the new community have access to any and all forms of education at affordable rates and can practice their faith freely and without fear or prejudice...you remember all too well what is like not to have either opportunity, and you'd be damned if you'd deny anyone else those opportunities. In that same vein, you've reached out to all respected and venerable leaders of the various communities to ensure their voices are heard, and their feedback is taken into account to ensure that this will be a place that is a refuge and home to all.

Pretty sure it's just a fixed amount of time considering how much of an insane bonus it's giving us.
Mostly burnt out at this point from work, so a lot of things are just flying past me and humor seems to be the only way to mask it...and now it don't seem to be working either .

...gonna go take a nap.

Movie Pitch: Treasure Planet
You know, I want us to make Treasure Planet because I think it went underappreciated due to being released just when the shift went from 2D animation to 3D animation. There was hardly any promotion and perhaps one of the best movies ever was lost in the confusion. Thing is, I don't think there's anything I would change in the film. It's perfection on its own! The setting, the characters, the themes and journey not only of the hero but the antagonist as well. It all just fits together telling a fun and original story while also paying homage to the original book by Robert Louis Stevenson.

So I thought, well, perhaps if I can't think of any changes to make to the story, I can think of who could voice the characters if we try and make the movie in the late 70's, early 80s (which can be done if we use the knowledge of computer graphics and animation of the time instead of ignoring it like Disney did until the Black Cauldron). So, here goes.

Movie Pitch:
Treasure Planet

GENRE: Science Fiction/Adventure

SUBGENRE: Action/Fantasy

FORMAT: Movie (Animation)

Set Up: An adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island but in Space! Spaceships are powered by solar sails and resemble the 18th-century sailing vessels of the original book. Technology follows a more steampunk model and aesthetic. The story follows Jim Hawkins as he goes in search of the fabled Treasure Planet, hidden in one of the most remote locations in the galaxy in order to find the lost riches of the legendary Captain Flint. Through the journey Jim meets an eclectic group of chracters from John Silver (the man who becomes his father figure and who's made finding the Treasure PLanet his life's purpose) to Captain Amelia (the quickwitted leader of the Legacy, the ship bringing them to their destination) and many more as they have to deal with the perils of interstellar travel and mutinies from the crew as well.

Narrator

- Voiced by: Vincent Price

Jim Hawkins: Jim is a very adventurous, rebellious, and caring young lad who hides it all behind a bad boy exterior. He loves the idea of adventure and when the chance presents itself, he jumps at it. Sometimes brash and prone to stupid actions, he nonetheless has a heart of gold hidden underneath.

- Voiced by: Mark Hamill

Sarah Hawkins: She is the mother of Jim Hawkins, a strong and independent woman, and a supportive and loving mother who raises her son on her own. Sarah runs an inn and is shown to be hard-working and resourceful. Despite her busy schedule, she is always there for her son and supports him in his adventures.

- Voiced by: Lee Meriwether

Dr. Delbert Doppler: He is an alien with the appearance of being some kind of dog/human hybrid, and a notable and well-off astronomer. Doppler is also a longtime friend of Sarah Hawkins, and becomes the guardian of her son during the expedition to find the Treasure Planet. is He's seen as the classic astronomer who trips over his own feet and words, and is socially awkward, but is also brave and loyal.

- Voiced by: Robin Williams
- Alternate: Steve Martin

Captain Amelia: She is the experienced captain of the RLS Legacy, the ship Doctor Delbert Doppler hired to journey to Treasure Planet. She is an alien who appears to be some sort of hybrid of cat and woman. Quick witted, fast talking and with a strong force of will, as a captain, she has a high demand for her crew and is quick to appreciate talent though not as quick to sniff out fishy situations.

- Voiced by: Julie Andrews

John Silver: A cybernetic pirate captain who dedicated his life to finding Treasure Planet and achieving ultimate prosperity. Driven by greed, Silver is ruthless in his pursuit—feared by all and challenged by none. However, an unanticipated bond with Jim will slowly break through his villainous exterior.

- Voiced by: Sean Connery.
- Alternate: Robin Williams

Morph: A pink blob of space goo that has the ability to morph into anything he wants and the trusted sidekick and pet of John Silver. It's known for being quite mischievous and has caused trouble in the past. He also displays a liking to Jim and is able to assist him with his morphing powers during the adventure.

- Voiced by: Frank Welker

Scroop: A cruel, murderous, greedy, manipulative, and devious villain. He is an intimidating, cunning and treacherous pirate and shown to have a minatory and mysterious nature. He is quite uncaring, opprobrious, disrespectful, and vituperative towards anyone else, even those he claims to be extremely loyal to. He's bad news is what I'm saying.

- Voiced by: Terence Stamp
B.E.N. (Bio Electric Navigator): An eccentric robot that originally served as the navigator of the legendary space pirate, Captain Nathaniel Flint. That is until Flint stranded him on Treasure Planet. Flint also removed B.E.N.'s memory chip to keep him from revealing his booby traps and self-destruct mode for the planet.

- Voiced by: Robert Downey Jr.
- Alternate: Martin Short

Billy Bones: is an alien space pirate pilot in the form of a humanoid salamander or turtle-like creature. He is found byy Jim and taken to the Inn where he dies shortly after arriving, but not before telling him of the secret of the Treasure planet and instigating the main plot with his final actions.

- Voiced by: Christopher Plummer

Mr. Arrow: Captain Amelia's first mate, and her best friend. He is a giant rock-like being who, despite his stern appearance, is shown to be quite friendly and approachable, though he does not tolerate any bad comments about Amelia He is very suspicious of Scroop, and tries to keep an eye on him when able.

- Voiced by: James Earl Jones
Onus: A small slug-resembling alien bearing six eyes and is one of the pirates in John Silver's crew. As such, he serves as the lookout, as he is constantly seen in the crow's nest of the Legacy.

Hands: The largest pirate in John Silver's crew. He is a tan behemoth-like alien with a red-colored face and two pairs of arms with a large hole in each arm as well as a gold wristband on two. Because of his well-developed physique, he serves as the muscle of the gang.

Grewnge: A large, fat gray reptilian alien with a pair of horns (one of which a gold ring hangs from) and a pair of antennae protruding from his head, and he sprouts a tail that is as thick as his fat legs. As one of the pirates in John Silver's crew, Grewnge seems to be the cannons expert.

Turnbuckle: One of the pirates in John Silver's crew. He is a gray octopus-resembling alien bearing two long tentacles for each of his arms and legs. He served as the helmsman to Captain Amelia.

Bird Brain Mary (a.k.a. Krailoni): An alien who resembles that of a grey woman's wearing a bandana, only added with a pair of arms, which serve as her only means of walking mobility (however, this does not seem to affect her services to Silver, which involve handling guns or knives).

Blinko: One of the pirates in John Silver's crew. He is a short tan alien bearing one eye and two pairs of legs.

Verne: An alien pirate in John Silver's crew who seems to be a cross-breed of a purple gecko and a fish with gray horns.

Aguanoggin: An alien pirate in John Silver's crew who seems to be an pink anthropmorphic angler fish with a "T-Rex" complexion.

Hedley: The smallest pirate in John Silver's crew, his alien appearance consists simply of a human head with dreadlocks, which is why he is constantly perched on top of the head of his comrade Moron (an alien who resembles a human torso; it is most likely that the two pirates are brothers).

Torrance: One of the pirates in John Silver's crew. His alien appearance consists simply of a human torso; constantly perched on top of his head is his comrade Hedley, an alien who resembles a human head with dreadlocks, which are actually his arms and legs.

Mr. Snuff: A fat, beige, alien who resembles a slug, but with the exception of his strange tentacles (which serve as two pairs of arms and are also found in the form of 2 rows on his back) and his trunk-like snouts, both of which emit strong flatulent noises as his form of communication.

Longbourne: His alien appearance resembles a grey eel, only added with arms, 2 pairs of legs (his feet have two toes each, that end in brown blunted claws), and his eyes peer from inside his mouth, due to his eye stalks being attached to his tongue.

Fayvoon: His alien appearance resembles that of a green dinosaur with the exception of his pick-ax-shaped head and his chameleon-like eyes that protrude from their sockets.

Mertock: an anthropmorphic manatee with clawed fingers, coiled tentacles that serve as his two legs, and a pudgy horn-like limb that sprouts from his head.

A.N: This is mostly my ideal pick for the actors who'd voice the Main and Supporting Characters. If we can't get them then we can try for another, but I think it would work for the best with these actors. The Treasure Planet story is, in my opinion, perfect; so I don't think there's anything that could be changed or added to it to improve in any way. What do you think?

Ah Treasure planet a sleeper of a movie that had so much potential I would love to see it get the attention it deserves.

While he knows not to be an idiot, Bob and Mifune are clearly the masters on set, and it would take Mark a Lifetime to get to that level.

So... possibly.
Well, Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen, managed to pull out a greatly choreographed fight scene without being expert fencers...

I mean even if Mark won't be able to get to that level, with enough hard work we can still make him pull some great fight scenes...
