By the way, @PoptartProdigy , I don't mean to sound pushy or anything, but I don't know if there was going to be an omake award for Auger. I know the way I wound up posting it in two clusters of closely spaced posts may have messed things up a bit. I can link you if you like?
Tabe is, presumably, going to be fighting the invasion so him being outed might not be that bad. That said, while he could form rivalry with Maya and Jaron, I don't think getting a saiyan near Jaron is a good idea, specially one that lacks subtlety. Also, speaking of lack of subtlety, Maya would probably dislike him because of his massive and obvious crush on Karen.

[X] Stick to the plan, but switch your focus to your other friends, when you teach. Sophie, Gemma, and Jenny have to be feeling left behind, and you've always spent less time with them than Maya.
[X] Stick to the plan. In fact, double down and start consistently passing up Jaron and Maya. If they act like this with rivals, let's see how fast they improve to catch up to somebody.
I'm not worried about the 'at risk' part. His family are saiyans, I doubt he has a large circle of close Garenhulder friends like ours to be endangered, and there HAVE to be a fair number of Exiles 'outing' their Masqued selves as ki users, because that's the entire point of the partial Masquerade drop...
I doubt that very much.
Some people will consider it, more will lay low while an invasion is due in the next year, by a technological enemy who can use the Internet, or whatever the local equivalent is.
His family are House heads, which means they have responsibilities to other Saiyans.
Meetings, that kind of thing. Surveillance on them risks outing a whole bunch of people who are possibly not interested in being exposed.
And we know nothing about his Masqued life.
Less of an issue for us and Berra, because bullshit abilities.
And we had no choice.
But we don't want to give too many datapoints for other people to correlate.
Well, his family lives in the Hall currently as we have seen this update and him being outed can be handled by simply meeting him in the place we will train in rather than in the city and then IT there sinc that means only the misfits and Jaron would see him.

Don't have time to type out why, so I'm just going to vote for now.

I don't think this approach will work. If nothing else, Berra is trying to present himself as the leader of a large faction of ki users, and that won't be credible if we don't have a significant number of such publicly outing themselves. Plus, there are personal incentives in some cases; Mitsuba's husband would probably be doing it if there weren't some overriding considerations. It'd do wonders for his longsword fencing salle if he could hang up a sign reading "Traditional Secrets of Energy Swordsmanship."

Also, this. We have teleportation and almost the whole planet is full of deserted wilderness, we don't have to do much of anything in public by the standards of the Garenhulder natives if we don't feel like it.
Auger, Chapter One, featuring a cameo appearance by Lord Vegeta Vegeta. Auger, Chapter Two, in which Mitsuba demonstrates the art of dodging, and Jaffur knows he's being played, but thinks Mitsuba's right. Auger, Chapter Three, in which Jaffur comes up with a certain "sped-up Makankosappo." Auger, Chapter Four, in which Jaffur finally gets a chance to work on his patented 'can of whupass' tactics. Auger, Chapter Five, in which battle is properly joined.

The omake index is now significantly heavier than it was this morning!
And in return for this...well, this is a lot. It is canon, first of all. I had not previously firmly established this section of Jaffur's childhood, and am more than pleased to adopt this. As for the reward...for this, even greater rewards seem insufficient.
So have a simple, flat auto-resolve, good for redeeming without penalty one high-significance interaction regarding Jaffur Vegeta.

I think he means a social option? I mean, given the wording it could involve convincing pops Jaffur was wrongly imprisoned after we release him or helping convince Jaffur not to kill Dandeer but I don't think getting him out outright is what he meant for it. I think it is meant to solve the issues that come from a social interaction regarding him in which we screwed up the rolls rather than to have an auto-win for a social interaction regarding him.

Well, there was an interesting write-in, but not interesting enough to overcome the front-runner. Vote closed. Update arrives tomorrow!

[X][Ask] What are the sorcerers doing to prepare for the dragon?
[X][Ask] What, in your opinion, is the single greatest threat to Saiyan society once we have handled the dragon and the invasion?
The combination of a clear front-runner and relatively low marginal advantage of one choice over another (no one can be very confident which approach to training the Misfits is optimal) tends to result in depressed turnout, I've found.

[X][Ask] What are the sorcerers doing to prepare for the dragon?
"The sorcerers are practicing mass-casting so that they can raise area wards over wherever the dragon ends up landing. We want this thing quarantined. They'll also be on hand to provide an unconventional way of stopping any last-minute surprises, when we kill it."
[X][Ask] What, in your opinion, is the single greatest threat to Saiyan society once we have handled the dragon and the invasion?
"...um. The Enemy, Princess. Always the Enemy."
Those Left Behind
BANG
You close your eyes against the shockwave as Maya and Jaron bounce off of each other again. Behind you, you hear Jenny squawking in outrage as she goes tumbling. You open your eyes again.
To most eyes, Jaron and Maya hang in the center of a maelstrom. Trees disintegrate around them. Rock splinters. They're barely visible through all of the distortions that the force they're throwing around produces.
Then you adjust your eyes, flaring ki through them, and the image sharpens. Maya's on the defensive, at the moment. Jaron is a very aggressive fighter, it turns out. Just like his brother.
As you watch, Maya kicks off of his punches -- making him wince in pain -- and raises her arms, light playing around them, before lowering them into place and firing a beam straight into his face. He half dodges-half blocks, sending the blast grazing along his arm. You tag it with a dodonpa before it can fly too far and break something, though.
They've improved so fast. Maya's resting power level crossed two million just last week, and Jaron matched her just days after she hit that point. Even knowing what you do, that rate of improvement is incredible. You can only imagine what they could do if they lived in Exile society. They are exceptional.
The exception to the rule.
You turn around and looks at the rest of the Misfits as they regain their balance. All three of the girls look up at the ongoing spar with some degree of envy in their eyes. Jenny most of all, Gemma the least.
You turn to them and clap your hands together. "So! While they're busy with each other, we can get some work done!"
Jenny folds her arms, frowning. "Yeah. A lot of work. Sure."
You smile at her. "Come on, it's not that bad!"
"MASS CANNON!"
SKREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEBANG
You point at Jaron without even turning around. "I told you, no names until you're better!"
"It wasn't on purpose, I just...thought it would be cool," he says, subsiding slightly.
You snort. "Yeah, real cool."
"Hey!"
You roll your eyes.
"He just blew up another mountain," sighs Gemma, sitting down on a log.
"This sucks," says Jenny. "We're never going to catch up! Whatever we do, they do ten times faster and twice as easy! Why are we even here?" She sits down next to Gemma.
"I don't think it's that bad," says Sophie, still staring up at Jaron as he and Maya get back to their spar.
"Sure you don't," says Jenny.
You put your hands behind your back, twining your fingers together. "I...didn't think you were trying to keep up."
"Well of course I am!" says Jenny, throwing up her hands. "If you're not trying to be the best, what's the point?"
Gemma doesn't say anything, but her expression speaks volumes of agreement.
You look at Sophie. "How about you, Soph?"
She shakes herself out of her fugue. "Not me, so much. It's a little hard, though. I mean...Jaron we knew could fight and...well, he..."
Gemma lets out a sharp sigh. "He's a boy."
You blink, slightly offended. "Hey! I'm stronger than any other boy I know! Except him, I mean."
Gemma folds her arms. "You have ki. Until you started teaching us, we didn't. We only had us. And boys are stronger than girls."
"It's easier to think about him being stronger than me," says Sophie, blushing slightly. "But Maya, that's...it's Maya. Little Maya! And half the time she's leading Jaron."
"She's something else," you say, looking up. "Both of them are."
"So are you," says Jenny. "You pass them, sometimes."
"I guess so," you say, shrugging. "You're all doing pretty well, too, though."
Jenny snorts.
"I'm serious!" you say.
Sophie sighs. "Karen, we're not going to be too happy about being stronger than normal people."
"Not even that," you say. "Jenny! You passed fifty thousand last month! That's a lot of improvement for just a year! Gemma, you're at forty-four. Soph, you're at fifty-three! That's a lot of improvement. You're way stronger than I expected you to be."
"And how strong are most of your people?" asks Gemma.
Your mouth snaps shut. "...well...stronger. But that's not the same! We grow up with ki. You're starting out new."
"And so we're behind," says Jenny. "And we're never going to catch up. It's frustrating, Karen. I don't like somebody beating me this easy. I don't even know why I'm here."
You look down. You knew they were feeling left behind, but...
"...I guess I never really thought about it like that," you say. "I mean...I just love doing this. I never really thought about it like I was trying to beat somebody. I just...love ki. I mean, you all like flying, right?"
Gemma smiles. "Flying's fun."
"I like how fast we can move," says Sophie.
Jenny crosses her arms. "...I kinda like how much better my eyes and ears are, now."
"I don't train with ki because I'm trying to get stronger than anybody," you say. "...well, the aliens, maybe." And the dragon. "But on my own, I just...I want to be better at this because I just love it. Don't you ever notice how bright colors are when you're powered up? How everything just slows down and you can spend hours looking at something just trying to catch all the details? And just how invincible you feel..."
Sophie smiles to herself, and you actually feel her power level creep up a little as you speak. Gemma isn't even subtle about it -- her aura flares up. Jenny sighs. "I guess. I just...I only ever have to look at Jaron, Maya or you to realize that there's so much more. I don't like being stuck in second."
You sigh as well. "There's always somebody stronger. My people learned that lesson a long time ago. You can try to be the strongest, but there's always somebody out there who can beat you."
Gemma's eyes snap onto you with all of the focus she can muster. "That sounds like a story."
"Like a lot of stories," says Jenny, also looking at you.
"Care to share?" asks Sophie, sitting down beside them.
You blink, and then smirk. Garenhulders and their stories.

TWO-HOUR MORATORIUM. THIS VOTE HAS NOW CLOSED.
In case it's not clear, this is Kakara deciding whether or not to share a safe-for-Garenhulders legend from the history of the Z Fighters as a cautionary tale against assuming that you're the strongest alive, and if so, which legend that should be.
Bonus points for anybody who writes in something I could plausibly steal.
I mentioned a while ago that Garenhulders are really into stories. It's come up a few times. There's just never been a great time to show it.
