[X] Yes.
-[x] You've been meaning to speak with Meerak. He's still in the cells, although he and the scouts who first stood down get to stay in the nicer ones.

If there is going to be more of the tourney tommorow, then there seems to be little reason to stay.

dammit, nifflers

Oh well, I know when I'm beaten.

AND THIS IS NOT THAT TIME.

[x] ...no. You're being good. You'll watch the last fight.

Yeah, I know...doesn't change anything. Still, I have chosen my hill upon which to die. And it just happens to be the one with the fascinating research notes sitting not far away.

What research notes? If you mean observing other people fight, we've been watching fights all day, and will be doing so tomorrow - missing one will have a negligible impact.

We also already had research it along with Mato in our yearly vote IIRC? Yeah, just checked. Study Jaffur's form with Mato is in our yearly to do list so presumably we would look at them later.

And this is one of those moments where we can steal a bit of time towards that goal.

Totally.

That's the purpose, here.

Yeah, we're talkin to an alien.

Oh good. For all that this was a fairly minor vote, I felt quite strongly about not choosing "No" for what it represented.

When we talk to Meerak the main thing we want to talk to him about is what to do with his peers. We don't want to kill them and we are powerfull enough that we can afford to be merciful so long as they don't try and blow up the world or signal the Enemy out of spite.

In both cases they would be just as screwed as we are, but people can be spiteful.

Or we can ask him the story of his people. How they came under their boss and what kicked them out or how strong are people in the galaxy.

That can come later. Might as well stick to the issue at hand for now.
It is just that the Garenguld governments might want a say in that and while we do have the power to hide them and enforce what we choose, there is no reason to alienate them like that yet. The Garenhuld governments can't take an informed stance in the matter without the info.

Not saying you are wrong in that some insight on what they could agree to is really important, just as long as we don't make promises yet.

Okay, finishing up writing. However, there's something at the end of the update that requires a roll, and I want my hands clean. Somebody roll me a d100. You have a bonus of +30, and are trying to beat a total DC of...

*rolls*

...59.
