Honestly... "ask the Seers to look into what happened the night of the Sealing" is another one of those "this really really should not take an action point" actions, since it can be covered in a single conversation with minimal preparation.

The more I think about it, the more flabbergasting it seems if the Seers haven't already done this. Aside from Carrick Balor having enlisted their support, it's still an extremely important moment in recent history with major impact on current events. Surely at least some of the Seers have scried on it?

EDIT:

This is not to say "the Seers are morons for not doing this" or even "Kakara is a moron for not asking them to." Indeed, the most likely explanation is that some of the Seers DO know what happened, but have concluded that for whatever reason, telling us what happened prior to this period in time was likely to result in disaster.

Say, Kakara getting so mad that she and Jaffur form a "go Super-Saiyan Two" pact and overthrow Exile civilization together.

Oh, definitely impossible now. Maybe if something else happens first, but if at this stage Kakara alone walks up to Dandeer and asks her to remove the Seal, Dandeer literally under no circumstances outside of coercion will listen to her. Heck, she's more likely to attack Kakara at this stage. That bridge isn't even ashes at this stage.
Yeah, you did not at all make that hard to spot. It was very clear. I'm prone to understatement, is all.

Now, I'm not saying people that kill are bad people -- circumstances may very well warrant it, it can be the best of bad options, but it by definition ends any further choice someone has. I will always fight against it. Given the choice between allowing someone to die and not allowing someone to die, unless they are undergoing severe pain that cannot be resolved in any fashion, the choice is obvious to me.

The future outcomes of current events in-game are by nature uncertain. Speaking for myself, I can't claim to foresee everything that 'must' happen or how it will happen. I would like to suggest that we not behave as though we are certain of the outcomes, that we know exactly what will happen or in what way. Most importantly, let's not treat each other as though we are. Let us not behave as though we know that the outcome of one vote means that any other future outcome is inevitable.

You also, personally, serve as an example of why the future is not set in stone on the past- you are, relatively, a new, prominent voter. So even if we assume (falsely) that the entire 'talk to Valentine voterbase will always vote Dandeer death paths', with no capacity to change, there could still be new voters that shift it.

Did you not read dragonball goku's been killing people since he was a kid. And only got morals at the start of Z
In dragonball he killed in revenge. In Z he let people live so that he could fight them again. I am not sure which one is better actually.

Though to be fair, everyone was a bit trigger happy in dragon ball.

Yes. There's a reason I spoke in broad terms in relation to RL there. I'm not prepared to make a statement on whether the Enemy has gotten to the afterlife yet or not.
Given he kicked the shit in of eg Gohan who occupies the afterlife and is in active contact with us, I think it's safe to assume he at least hasn't yet gone to the afterlife. Given, you know, that Gohan isn't, like, double dead.

I don't know, the existence of Hell kinda makes death worse, as you'll be punished forever. If you're alive, you can theoretically be redeemed and escape that fate.

Also, once dead, you're cut-off from your family and friends until they pass on, unable to help your descendants when they're in trouble, and from what little we've seen, Heaven seems kinda boring. I mean, the various people who have died certainly haven't wanted to go back any time soon. ;)

Well, we haven't actually interacted with him for several years...

Well Goku did not tended to be in a hurry to get back from the afterlife.

Well, technically, the only one punishing you in Hell is yourself, so...

And we see like what, at most sixty seconds of it? You might want to reserve judgement until you actually arrive.

Going from 'life' to 'afterlife' is a profoundly significant personal change and loss. And it's not reversible by the means at Kakara's disposal. It's still a big deal, even if it's not an infinitely big deal. And it's an extremely bad deal for someone who has committed evils and has yet to make up for them, given that Hell is a real place in-setting and that people with enough evil on their conscience end up there.

Lazy, crap voters have a nasty habit of popping up en masse at the worst possible moment just long enough to drop a vote to ruin and disappear again without any discussion. Whether or not to try save Dandeer's life at any cost is exactly the sort of emotionally charged decision which attracts crap voters like catnip.

No voters are crap voters. If somebody pops up only every so often to cast a vote, then they are welcome here. While I appreciate healthy discussion of a vote, I do not require a thesis statement before I start considering votes as worthwhile. Just because they vote in a way you find unwise before leaving immediately does not mean that they are ruining a vote; it simply means that they disagree with you, and are uninterested in engaging in a debate.

Can someone give me a bit of a reminder about what we know about the Misfits, personality and relationship-wise? I'm working on an omake, and can't recall who is crushing on who and what people's nicknames are.

They each have an entry on our sheet (as allies) but that's more about Karen's interactions with them.

Yup. Sometimes when I'm walking through a park I see a couple of people playing a game of chess they've been pondering for an hour and I'll just walk right up and move the pieces around where I want them to be without asking before wandering away and never thinking about it again. They don't have any right to complain. These are public tables after all.

They are public tables for a game played between two people. This is a public game played between a number of people theoretically up to and including everybody alive, with no set number of players. The parallel you are trying to draw does not exist.

Insert multiplayer cooperative game of your choice. New players are welcome to join a multiplayer cooperative game provided they actually cooperate, but the fact is that once they start playing they start having a direct effect on a project which other people can have invested literally hundreds of hours and similar emotions into, so it hardly seems unreasonable that there's a bit of complaint if a passing horde of selfishly whimsical poltergeists drop in just long enough to derail some strategy they don't really care about and aren't invested in, but somebody else has spent months crafting and forging a consensus for among the real players.

If it's really as disruptive as you say, you are welcome to make your case to the mods. We do have rules for disruptive behavior. However, do not spend time railing against them in this thread. Thank you.

As one of these "selfish poltergeists" just because i comment doesn't mean i dont read or care.
I read every argument and make my own judgement, I dont vote for whatever I think will specifically piss you off.
Don't blame every failure on others just to make yourself feel better.

Very well. I do like the, "thesis statement is required for a vote to count", idea though and may steal it later. Softer than having a capped council game, but hard enough to discourage truly lazy voters and thus not allow them to discourage good players.

I don't remember ever mentioning you, though the fact that your avatar seems familiar suggests that you are at least someone who is consistently invested even if you don't make an effort towards creating a consensus. Perhaps, just perhaps, on occasion, some people speak about things which do not directly apply to you, though if you would like some help building up the courage to stand by your decisions in the light of day we can probably develop some sort of acclimatization program to get you to where you can handle basic critiques of your own reasoning, or even suggestions for improvements.

Or maybe I realise this is just a story and while people may be invested having to write a thesis for if i we should get fries or mcnuggets is not something i want to do, not should be required.
Also are you saying its ok in general to insult people as long as they aren't talking back about it, seems a bit backwards to me.

You've got a differing opinion on the obligations and duties inherent in inserting yourself into a large, long-term group project, and your last statement simply doesn't follow, but if you'd like to continue this discussion the GM has asked us not to have in their thread I am available by PM.
