did we fail the roll to get sensei to teach us? Since there was no mention of it, I mean.

Well, he mentions a weekly lesson. So he's definitely still teaching us something. He also seems to care about us, based on boldtext. So we at least didn't critfail!

I wonder if this means we can teach the rest of the misfits ki now?

Be honest. Even if it didn't, we would. We're SV, and we've got a handful of characters who are effectively baby ducks in a world of hungry eagles. SV won't stop until those ducks have unlocked their Phoenix transformations, perfected the Flying V Death Beam, and conquered at least three realities.

I, for one, welcome our new avian overlords.

Dad relaxes again, glancing at Maya. Tell me everything. Later. "Oh, that's not something you have to keep secret, Karen," he says aloud. Maya looks up. Dad glances at her and says, "She saw her Grandpa dying. Not a secret. Family stuff, yes, but you don't have to keep that a secret, Karen."

Maya shoots a horrified look of sympathy at you. You glare at Dad. Gee, thanks. Now I have to deal with this.

A smirk flickers across his face. You'll cope.

Guys? I think Berra is reading the thread. :V:V:V

Ah.

But what if she's really a Saiyan under a Masque?
Then she gets the crash course introduction, and possibly a return to her home house. Dad'll introduce her to a Sorcerer in like a week to test it out.

Now, I will say that Kakara does NOT, IC, know this, but if Maya's house is unable to be determined, your Dad would adopt her himself into House Goku (specifically the noble HOUSE, as opposed to the overall Clan). Not as his daughter -- she has parents -- but most certainly as a sort-of-niece. Her parents would be informed of the situation and sworn (magically) to secrecy.

Meaning we can at least FINALLY put this to bed one way or the other? Oh thank you so much @PoptartProdigy , thank you thank you thank you.

So, uh, how strong did she power up to?

What's the lower bound for an average-skill ki sense to detect from the other side of the planet?

I know Raditz's scouter was able to detect power levels in the 700-800 range at a decent distance, and we know that once you hit the millions it's easy enough to detect, but I've never been clear on the correlation between strength and range to detect.

She powered up to max. Thus, per her character sheet, 70,754. It's nothing terribly unusual on a normal day, but there are a few things that make it strange in this case -- one, she's human, and feels human. Two, the scouts are arriving sometime this year and thus the Exiles are on lockdown while outside the Hall. Cases of Exiles powering up that much are significantly fewer and farther between these days, so it stands out more. Three, you and Dad are standing right there and, since Maya can't sense energy yet, are not making any particular effort to suppress below your usual resting power level of almost 19 million.

Generally, you can pick up on people from a planet away once they hit the high hundreds; it more depends on how good you are at sensing than how strong they are. Thus, since we're not running an early-Dragon Ball quest, it's a bit of a meaningless distinction.

Would this mean permanent Slumber Party

Depends on what her parents say. :lol

Can i sig this?

They neglected to mention that we also won't stop until they're all romantically tangled, often times to the extent of using our sterotypical love of all things math and excel sheets to design convoluted mating and romance charts.

So we basically will never stop? Ducks are generally monogamous so it is kind of hard to get them tangled.

It was put to rest when you lot decided to operate on the assumption it wasn't the case before bothering to spend five minutes confirming it. All checking will accomplish now is earn, "told you so", rights.

I wonder if Maya would go for Jared? My eugenics shipping demands it.

The Saiyans have enough inbreeding as it is. The royals probably doubly so.
