Talking and trying to come up with excuses instead of just pretending the powers came out of nowhere and telling Berra about her without mentioning him to Maya is what made this so complicated in the first place. Wouldn't it be better to just ask her to trust our judgement instead of giving her more information? We already dug a Deep enough hole trying to hide her ki signature without telling her there is more going on.

[x] My family has more secrets than just Ki use Maya, not all of which are mine to tell. If I teach you sensing then you might be able to uncover them. If you let me tell dad about this, he could make the decision, but...

Why does everything have to be so difficult all the time forever.

Just to be clear, you do realize that if we tell her that she might uncover them if she learns to sense ki then you are pretty much confirming there is something to sense? Also, that since we already told her dad has them too and it wouldn't be to weird for our siblings to have them too then since we don't want to tell her it must be somebody else?

I will have a long and uninterrupted span of writing time starting in an hour and a half. If voting has not substantially changed from the below tally by then, I will close the vote.

[X] Reveal some of the truth.
- [X] ...Kinda.
- [X] Dance around without straight out saying that there may be others with powers.
- [X] State that hypothetically if there were, you might also have promised to hide their secrets as well.
- [X] Ask that Maya trust you that at the moment, you can't teach her about power sensing.
- [X] Guilt her into waiting before trying to learn this herself by subtly reminding her that she wouldn't want some stranger to find out her secret out-of-the-blue.
- [X] Hint that if she's desperate to meet others with powers, dad's still an option.

[X] Refuse to answer.
-[X] Ask her to trust your judgement.

[X] Confess all. Tear aside the Masquerade, and give Maya whatever she wants to know.
-[X] And then say you'll teach her.

[X] Lie your ass off.
-[X] Tell her that if you know how to sense others, you'll know when you're sensed, so if you teach her and she even accidentally senses your dad, she'll be discovered.

This is pretty good.

She already knows that our dad can do it, so she knows 3 people can do it, it's not like it's insane for her to already assume there's more.

I like the writ-in, but it reveals much more than I'm confortable with. A small change keeps things way more rescure, so when dad discovers us we'll be in a better position.

At least we all agree that the girl who can raise her strength 76x within just a few months is someone we need to train.

We just need to be sure that once she does it again (to 5.3 million) and again (to ~402 million) she'll need to stay powered down almost all the time, or the Saiyans will have inadequacy problems.

So is she aware she can blow up planets now of we teach her how to throw beams around?

That's a hell of a tidbit to drop on someone.

"Because I don't actually know how to teach that. It's always been a natural talent for me. You should talk to my Dad. Soon."

You have given her basic safety lessons along the lines of, "Never shoot/punch something you don't want to see absolutely gone." You have demonstrated to the tune of seven underground chambers blasted out by sheer force of will, but she doesn't yet have the scale to realize that the same probably applies to entire planets. It's on the agenda.

Soon.

Wait I forget, do we think the enemy is seeking out all high power signatures, or just our ones.

The suspicion is that the Enemy detects high power signatures, but it's not known if they can distinguish saiyan ones.
That would be a hilarious twist.
Darkly hilarious twist: the Enemy actually detects the existence Saiyans(even through the Masque), specifically, through a method that has nothing to do with power levels, and the only reason they haven't already shown up is because they've been going after hidden hold-outs from the previous near-extinctions/cloned Saiyans armies have become wide-spread across the universe.

Meaning everything they did was completely pointless.

This would be an amazing twist, don't you think?

Now Im incredibly worried that we've actually engineered our own destruction.
If they can find us wherever we our regardless, than us avoiding reaching high power levels just means we'll be killed instantly, but this could also be a double bluff.

Not to mention the enemy, if they aren't just some chaotic force of death, could just ask that one guy who knows everything that Jaco met where the saiyans are.

And of course this is all assuming that the enemy would just kill us to kill us, and isn't the type of enemy that wants a fight.

Don't take the above as indication that your theory is right. Nat's good about spoilers. He teases, but keeps it on the safe side of the line. I assure you that the true secret of how the Enemy finds things remains a mystery.

Poptart hasn't said anything along the lines of 'What makes you think she's going to keep up this rate of improving, increasing her strength by a factor of 75 every three months' yet.

This terrifies and excites me!

I, for one, welcome our new Stuttering Galactic Overlady.

You know you want to do it. :V
Feel free. Just make sure everyone in-quest becomes aware of that, and show the resulting reactions. Learning that your entire society/culture had focused on things that were completely pointless would undoubtedly be a nasty shock. I'm not being serious, please don't do this.
