In other news, half of you want to help kill Lord Vegeta, and the other half is very worried about what kind of mindset it takes for an eight-year-old to hold patricide as their dearest ambition.

Given how much Saiyans eat, I'm betting we must have some EXTENSIVE farms.

Then again, even if the average Saiyan only reaches 8 million units, I'm sure they can handle a lot of farm land.

I'm betting that like, 80% of the tech we brought and helped people learn to use is so we can actually feed a significant amount of Saiyans.

Let's just say that on this planet, America-equivalent countries in terms of food production very much do not end up straight-up throwing literal tons of their food away.

I've always been slightly confused by that, actually, do Sayians eat a bunch because they just have an absurd metabolism or does anyone with high power levels need to do so?

The first, Goku as a kid ate much more then Krillan or Tien or Yamcha did even after they became stronger then Vegeta was when he first showed up.

I'm sure power level increases how much you need to eat, but not enough to make up that species difference.

It seems unusual that such a large population would manage to completely avoid exposure for centuries. This seems even stranger when you consider that the Saiyans possess power far beyond that of normal humans and are only constrained from using their powers by a social construct. What has stopped random Saiyans from blatantly abusing their powers and bringing down the masquerade?

The Saiyan population has exploded over the last two generations, largely due to population controls being lifted by first Clan Goku, then Clan Vegeta. This has led to significant societal pressure and, yes, dissent, which only abated at all when the previous Lord Vegeta wiped out a rebellious House root, branch, and seed in the most brutal way possible. That example's weight has only faded with a new Lord, and time...but it is fading...
 
I could see a masquerade enforced by fear working if you were only talking about a relatively small population but if the total number of Saiyans measures in the hundreds of thousands then the idea that House Vegeta could stop everyone from using their powers in a conspicuous manner starts seeming a little ridiculous. Are there really no misbehaving teenagers willing to challenge authority regardless of the consequences or criminals willing to risk punishment in exchange for tremendous wealth? It seems like it would be impossible for the Saiyans to maintain a significant masquerade given the size of their population and the fact that the power of an individual Saiyan allows any of them to unilaterally expose the existence of super powered beings.

In addition to my above reply, I'll state that super powered beings run both ways -- the Lord of each Clan is powerful enough, and fast enough, to be in two, three, or twenty places at once at any given time, subjectively. And when the Masquerade is threatened, they work together. That said, the pressure is mounting...

Step 2: use their intestines to strangle absolutely everything they cared about to death for not controlling them.
Step 3: kill all human witnesses.
Step 4: exploit the immense wealth accumulated over hundreds of years from having invented everything more advanced than the water wheel to spread misinformation.
Step 5: involve the seers and wizards.

I'm also laughing for reasons relating to some of the discussion you've all had for this update. I have a seeeeeeecreeeeeeet...:D

Update out tomorrow. I'm done writing for tonight after the draining consequences spiral that the latest update on my other quest was. I have never seen one roll derail a quest so thoroughly, although admittedly I've only been questing for under a year at this point...
