Great update. I am glad that quest still continues and we are even moving toward conclusion of Negaduck plotline. I'll need to reread related parts as it was quite some time. But for now I have only one question. Are we the ones supplying government forces with dinosaurs for special training or we have competitors in this field?

My guess is that the success means they got one of the Fearsome Five, but that Negaduck has a trait or ability that allows him to kill one of his opponents even when they win.

I mean, he didn't manage to take out...Well, I guess technically he kinda did.

my guess is a failure would have more deaths and no kill, a crit success would be a kill and no deaths, and a crit fail would either be no kill and party wipe, or someone from the hit squad joining Negaduck
Or, for the crit fail, "party wipe, no kill, and you made him MAD".

Eye for an eye style? Or some variant of the duck rage? i could see both being true.

Hm.... Also its important that Reddler was mentioned. Maybe he will be asked to send someone?
And with Russ both getting that backdoor fixed, buddying up with Doof and getting the joke.... well...

...I'm not entirely sure what you mean...Riddle DID help out, there were two occultists there.

I think technically we had guys from Metahuman (Dicker & Frozone), the Military (Doberman, The Omnidroid, and Pacifier), Paranormal (Spice and Eliphias), and maybe Anthro (Potentially Eliphias, Anthro is fine dealing with Magic when needed) involved in this hit. It's generally been portrayed as a crisis the entire Federal Government has been prepping for.

Extraterrestial I imagine didn't want to risk Negaduck seizing any of their tech, Chronoanomolous lacks a lot they could reasonably offer, and I have no idea if Doorway exist.

Occult (4) +19 from Malifishmirtz as Counselor
Malifishmertz 38 [+3] (-20 to Occult Nationals)
Janna 32 [+4] (20+12, 17% chance to change DCs of Occult actions, +5 To learn more about Supernatural, Does not need Feldrake to cast spells)
Kitsune 25 [+3] (+15 when Asia is involved, +11 to sabotage/impair other factions)
Tom Lucitor 22 [+2] (+20 to raise the dead, Limited availability)
Agent Russ 19 [+3] (+??? +10 when Toons are involved)
Tobe 16 [+1]
Marco Diaz 14 [-1] (Costs income to use)
Gomez -/12 (Can use Half his learning on Occult actions. +10 to any rolls that involve summoning Divinos. Allows Doof to use Half his learning on Occult Actions as well [+19])
Quirky Miniboss Squad 9 [+1] (+10 and are treated as having a specialization in actions that center around magitech, mentalism, dimensional travel, or which have no clear category. Or dancing.)
Juniper 8
Genghis Khan 8 [+1] (2/3rds Atomic Genes = 5)
Olivia Dickens 7
Queen Lizzie 4 [+1]
Kermit 2 [+1]
So, since we got Celena's stats, let's see here...

Occult: 48 (Celena was a god-queen; granted access from birth to the most powerful of tutors and wisest of artifacts, and she spent most of her time hiding in books.)
She would probably look something like this on the updated loyalty tracker.

Celena the Shy 48 [+4] (Counselor bonus from Malifishmertz does not apply to her.)

With her loyalty bonus and our own Occult, that means she rolls with a +56 on all Occult National Actions, which makes her our best Occult unit! Barely. With several downsides and asterisks.

She can't go on Quests, and any National Action which would take her out abroad has a risk of her getting discorporated.

If she did get the Counselor bonus, she would be absolutely busted and the clear best in Occult, since she'd be rolling with a +75 on all Occult National Actions, but since she doesn't she's actually only a bit better than Kitsune with 4 point difference between them, and actually a bit worse than Janna(+Feldrake) with another 4 point difference, and that's without traits. With traits, she's surpassed by Tom and on the same tier as Agent Russ.

What she does have however, is consistency. She will roll a +56 and there will be no shenanigans with traits messing around with DC's or only being good with certain actions or whatever. She's a great Occult Hero, and will probably be consistently used in an Occult National Action, which frees up other Occult Heroes to do their Personals or flex in another action, probably Intrigue since there's a lot of overlap, which is also good, since we're a bit stretched thin as far as Intrigue goes.

Speaking of Occult actions, I'll take this time to say that I think one of the ones we should do next turn is either Search for Magical Individuals or Map Ley Lines. Even before the whole Quest in Gravesfield, I thought filling any hole in our Occult lineup would be a great idea, especially if they have any good other stats to flex into, but now that we've got a chance of recruiting someone like Balthazar Blake or any of the Morganians like Abigail Williams or even all three of 'em, I think we should totally go for it. Map Ley Lines is entirely because its stymied us for so long, and its follow up action Alter Local Ley Lines sounds really cool, we should just get it done now. Although doing it with Celena might make Malif even more upset, it depends on what One Way or Another is about.

I also support Repair The Avatar of Feldrake, mainly as backup for the On-Ice Inator.

With Celena, Search would be a 71% chance of success, Ley Lines would be 81%, and Repair would be 100%.

Uh, One Way or Another was posted, with these being the Malf relevant parts.
-Malf is very, very upset that you acquired another wizard explicitly against his wishes. He takes a -15 opinion penalty.

-Having a (mostly unproductive) chat with him has kept this anger from being focused on you, so he's just angry in general. Malf has a temporary +10 opinion penalty that decays November/December 2018.

-Manage Malf has been added to Doof's personal actions.
[ ] Manage Malf
Getting Malf to work smoothly in your organization requires you to get… creative. Distract him at the right times, butter him up in the right places, keep him pointed in a vaguely useful direction. This is likely to be a fairly time-intensive endeavor… at least at first.

Taking this action grants Malf a free personal action this turn, and gives a permanent +5 to Malf's opinion.
So, yeah, i'm willing to just go for recruiting and have someone else do ley lines. Or repair the golem, which might be able to eliminate the risks of using it in Liquidator's attack.

Huh, must've missed that then. Well, in that case I'm thinking Repair and Search then, for our Occult actions. That one action meant for mental defences is probably important, too. Although even Celena with XP is a coin flip in terms of our odds of success on that front currently.

With regards to Celena, I would like to propose Summon a Demon as a possible pick for her Future Sight.

It is a 'nice to have, not need to have' Action, so possibly being locked out of it for a turn on a Failure won't feel so bad.

And by Prognosticating before summoning a demon, we might be able to avoid the scenario where we go "Oh shoot, we rolled Principal Faust in the Gacha, now the American school system is even more screwed" by just… Not summoning that demon.

I don't know if it would tell us WHICH demon we rolled, but it could avoid a crit-fail and, on a crit-fail, well...Let's just say Principal Faust is FAR from the worst option for summoning a demon...Let's avoid TRYING that ANGLE, if you catch my drift.

The best answer is probably just Fortress of the Mind for Prognosticating honestly? In that its the kind of annoying to hit DC that we hate to see with Doof's low Occult, but at the same time, the actual effects of the action are really powerful. While the DC means its an action we're not likely to do for awhile otherwise unless we really start pumping Doof's Occult.

OK, we really need to get on that. I don't know if you noticed, but DREAM QUEEN IMINENT. Or just do its learning variant.

Nope, Negaduck is just that dangerous. An attempty by you to do the same would have gotten a very big asterix warning.

The US government doesnt have the strongest heroes... but they do have a lot of them. It was a good trade, even if no one wants to talk like that.

There's also the fact that well... we're headed into The Movie, here. Things are gonna get a bit dangerous.

Seemed good to set the tone going in.
