Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

God, that style power sounds awful man. Joe can't even sit down to take a shit without treating the toilet like a throne.
Wanna bet any toilet he creates is like a throne?

Btw I just love the fact people think Joe didn't make mind protections. His was more the case of protected against everything....except that, that being a skill drain. Even so, the protections actually diminished the drain, so hey that's something.
On the case of Fleet being so beautiful she will attract Heartbreaker.....yeah, let him come, to the Celestial Forge, and maybe Undersiders, he is just a Hedonistic Canadian flapping his gums uselessly

Nah, Uppercrust secretly paid off the waitress to give him the note afterwards. It's a free ticket for a favor from Accord, of course he has his hands on it.
Bold of you to assume Accord hasn't already gotten them in his pocket to give him the note. The butcher was also payed off and is already on the highway.
Joe needs a Ricktoilet to have one worthy of him using it
Joe, taking a shit on mars while his style powers make him look like an ancient sage seeking enlightenment.

To be perfectly honest, I audibly complained when Damsel was revealed because I personally think she's better than working with Nazis, but I think I can see where you're going and also why most cape teams need an annihilator, so fair enough. I still think you're doing her dirty, but I can put it aside if she's stomping all over the E88.

Otherwise though, good stuff! I find it hysterical that this meetup involves anyone with half an excuse to show up, and each of those groups is so desperate to make a power play that they're out shaking down the couch cushions for any spare parahumans, only to find that Apeiron rustled up literally an entire team of perfectly-outfitted godbeings anyway.

Excited as hell to continue, and also I reckon he'll accidentally show off his music skill by drumming on the table at some point or something, and that would be pretty funny.

I wonder if the Mantra tech from 'Asura's Wrath' synergizes with the 'Big O' tech? I kinda want to see the Bigs fighting their Endbringer counterpart while powered up on the very cultural belief that shaped the Endbringers into that form.

This is why I'm betting she might pull a sudden-but-inevitable betrayal.

IMO, the new players that have arrived in Brockton Bay have injected a lot of flexibility even within the various factions, to the point I expect betrayals, folks jumping ship, and of course individual capes approaching Apeiron for their own reasons.

He indicated towards the lack of effect tracing to Fleet, Survey, Tetra and the Matrix as well as the diminished trails to Aisha and Tybalt
If he was around at this time, Saint would be freaking out a little. I mean why them in general and Survey in particular. Not wearing armor, looks normal, but apperently has better defenses then Apeiron. There is only one answer for this man.

Thankfully, he was not around to know he should slowly flee out of there.

The others might chalk it up to Case 53 stuff, to excitment of "look how normal she looks!".

Poor Kaiser, he just wanted to bring the team thinker to a diplomatic meeting. His best source of knowledge walking out the door, and getting punished for trying.

As far as the non-Tattletale capes are concerned, the non-Apeiron members of Team Celestial Forge are:
Fleet, whose name means "nimble", and whose movements can casually break the sound barrier. He's obviously a Mover and his power is approximately Velocity's without the drawback.

Survey, who has hologram powers and a Thinker power that includes the ability to perceive Victor's power. Unless she instead has a very specific piece of Apeiron tech to do both of those to Victor's power.

Lethe, who seems to be a Stranger but whose power is unclear. She's relying on tinkertech for most of what she does.

And three exotic capes who haven't been named yet, none of whom have shown any powers beyond those inherent in their various exotic forms.

That means the obvious main threats from the group are Fleet, Apeiron, and Lethe's use of Apeiron tech, in that order.
I mean there is the blood drinking Mink made of blood red threads. Even ignoring the questions of her body count, that has to be disturbing.

Did the Forge just screw Joe over?
Seconds after calling someone out about using powers on everyone being a breach of truce, his new introduction graphic might appear to to do exactly the same.
Just the sort of thing that Uppercrust would jump on to get some leverage over Apeiron. Kaiser would also get in on the act just to try and save some face.

-Apeiron
'Whiskey, neat'
-Survey
'Vodka Martini'
-Fleet
'Draught Beer'
-Kataklyzein
'White Russian'
-Lethe
'Black Tea'
-Matrix
'Gin Fizz'
-Tetra
'Blood'

Can anyone that has more knowledge than lemmings (me) about beverages can give us a wink of what this means?
Take this with a lot of salt. Apeiron with Whiskey has him as a burly man, Survey with vodka... Sorry. I don't know. Can someone give their expertise here?

Honestly that was what came to mind after seeing this power, it just makes Apeiron look like a hypocrite after just calling the empire out. I hope his power fails to work, we do not need this unnecessary stress

Whiskey, neat - This is literally just whiskey in an otherwise empty glass. It is whiskey undiluted by water or ice, zero additives, served at room temperature. Open whiskey bottle, pour into glass. It is a simple, elegant even, drink that relies on the whiskey itself entirely for it's quality. There is no substitute for quality. - "I would rather have something harsh but good than something easy but mediocre"
Vodka Martini - The drink of James Bond. - "I am sophisticated and want to seem intelligent. "
Draught Beer - The working mans drink. Note he doesn't ask for a specific beer. He's literally just asking for whatever beer the establishment sells enough of to have by the keg. - "I am not sophisticated and do not care what I am actually drinking."
White Russian - Basically alcoholic cream. The cat just likes dairy. - "I am literally a cat"
Gin Fizz - Test of the bartender's skills. - "I am judging you."
Blood - Tetra reinforcing that she isn't human in the slightest. - "I am literally inhuman."

Whiskey is just what apeiron wanted, vodka martini is a delicate drink that she wants to cultivate her persona, fleet wants an earthy working class drink for the same, white russian has milk for the cat, lethe is underaged, Gin Fizz is aparently difficult to make and a skill test, blood because thats really the only thing Tetra gets anything out of.

Fantastic update, thoroughly enjoyed it.

I especially enjoyed the way Victor was handled, but it does have implications beyond this scene and any discussion of reparations.

If Victor's power is always on to some degree then his team have been consistently subjected to their skills being drained, especially his wife.

I always thought that Victor is the primary reason for E88s continued prominence, given how much he can offer them in terms of wealth and gang management, but actually maybe he is the reason why the rest of them are so often incompetent and why they go along with Kaiser's obvious manipulations. Brain damage.

Poor Othala too.

I wonder how much control Victor has and how much of it is subconscious. In the same way that Glory Girl's power automatically manipulates those around her without her being aware, does Victor's power do the same? Othala's dependence on Victor could easily be a side effect of her inability to make independent decisions, or think creatively, or to be strong willed in the face of adversity - these are all skills after all.

According to the scene it's perception based and two way. Whenever Victor pays attention to someone or is in turn paid attention to the power works automatically. Nasty cognitohazard.

"Apeiron." The man said smoothly, and glanced towards the table of his companions. "Leader of the Celestial Forge."

And they saw.
Beasts of copper, and iron, and tin, rising out of earth, and in their hands gift of the mother, and rumbling followed them. Apeiron, Apeiron, Apeiron!
And they saw.
The flames of creation, rising into the sky as stars, warming their skin, and smelting their souls, calling his name. Aperion, Aperion, Aperion!
And they saw.
A thousand hammers, hitting a thousand steel ingots, on a thousand black anvils, forging his name. Apeiron, Apeiron, Apeiron!
And they saw.
Blood of the mother, life giving and pure, quenching and steaming, and in clouds a dozen faces of the gods long forgoten, and on their lips a song. Apeiron, Apeiron, Apeiron!
