Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

So I've just finished watching the new Dune movie and (it was amazing!), what I'm currently most curious about is how will it affect the perks related to the setting they're from? Will the movie inspire @LordRoustabout to incorporate more Dune tech or references into his writing? How will it effect Joe?
The new Dune will not affect anything at all as the author use a version of Celestial Forge that use old Dune.

I have an extremely odd question (that isn't really relevant to the story) @LordRoustabout if Joe/Matrix were to design a city, what aesthetic would the final result be?
Solar Punk?
Scifi Greek Classical?
Post-Modernist Future?
Something else?

Matrix is not a good designer as Joe, but they could go for literally any aesthetic. Joe's urban planning would be perfect though.

Dearest Martha,

It's been 140 hours since the last LordR content update.... Withdrawal symptoms have progressed to medium levels.

My eyes are twitchy and my right knee starts to bounce when I focus on something else. I'm starting to gargle salt water to help keep out the sour taste in my mouth.

Reading old WOGs helps for a brief period of time but doesn't take off the edge.

Please pray for us and that this weeks update will be on time.

Honestly, Neon Cyberpunk with a tinge of "City of Tomorrow" feel is my favorite city look. If I had the choice 8/10 times that's what I would work for.

Full list of Rolls (sonicyoash)
All right! After roughly a week of work, my project is finished! Here is the complete Brockton's Celestial Forge rolls list plus all Perks sorted by Constellation, color-coded to show Purchased, Available, and Excluded Perks! Please let me know if you find any errors so that they can be checked and, if necessary, corrected! *Now updated with a List of Purchased Perks made using Survey's Classification System! Link

I think I'd imagine a sort-of futurized ancient-greek aesthetic; the aesthetic architectural stylings of ancient greece combined with tinkertech materials, efficient urban planning, accessible & free public services (libraries, schools, housing, food+water distribution, etc.), vertical expansion (big, tall buildings with elevators and staircases and the like as opposed to urban sprawl; very efficient use of the full space available in the city). Probably also a lot of Vegetation, public spaces(parks, playgrounds, ) in a way that borders on the Solarpunk aesthetic. Little career-criminal or gang presence, if any (there is literally no need to get sucked into the dangerous criminal lifestyle when your basic needs for food, water, shelter are already met). So we essentially end up with this futuristic city dressed up in the clothes of an ancient city. Maybe there are giant divine-blessing-amplifier shrines throughout the city, serving dual-purposes as tourist attractions and power-boosters for Joe. Also probably full of some of that bastion-tech that makes everything in the area self-repair and work better and etc.

There's Also the option where he refuses to limit himself to one aesthetic style, and ends up having every district of the city conform to a Different aesthetic. Solar punk in one area, futuristic sci-fi in another district, greco-roman architecture in yet another district, etc. Potentially even Color-coding the different types of locations; green for hangout spots, blue for public services/government, red for businesses, yellow for transit, etc. allowing people to figure out how to get where they're going just by following the colors.

I imagine that the practical elements of verticality, urban planning, etc. would remain in the second option, though. maybe with use of certain technologies favored in different locations in order to make normally un-practical design decisions practical.

tl;dr: i vote scifi greek classical with a mix of Solarpunk thrown in OR a mix of varying architectural styles and aesthetics in different areas/districts of the city.

Would there be lines on the streets for guidance like in military compounds in Stargate?

Apologies for being out of touch over the last week. As an update on the next chapter (Chapter 57), it is on its way. The chapter is currently over 20k words with a bit more to write, but I will have it ready by the usual time. Sorry for the previous delay and my thanks to everyone for their patience and continued support of the story.

I will try to circle back to thread comments after I get the chapter up, but I won't have much time until then. I'll be working to get the next chapter filled out and as polished as possible in time to post.

Well, that's a relief. A big chapter coming, but I'll bet a good chunk/maybe all of it? will be interludes and such, not earning points maybe. (I believe a large Leet part?)

Anyway, if there are any perks earned, what would be the most Halloween one he could get? Yes, I know that Jozef is in April, but just for us? Equivalent Exchange, where he gets literal access to an actual hell dimension? Fashion Nonvictim, if he become a Reaper (I hope not personally)? Spectre or Arch-Magos, when he gets access to horrible memories? Personally, I would nominate Minor Blessing of Hades, but that's because I have rather traditional views of the holiday....

Very important question, if Joe loses all his powers and he was attacked by a bear what would he do. Time sensitive question by the way.

Very important information incoming. Slather yourself in a layer of finely minced salmon, glaze with honey and play dead. The bear will lick the deterrent off you and leave promptly.

Something something a battle avoided is a battle won. ;)

Wow not only is this very helpful advice but that quote is actually pretty relevant to Joe what with the Simurgh and Somer's Rock.

if he keeps his gear; kill or contain or injure the bear until it is no longer a threat

if he loses his gear also; run away, probably, unless he's prepped anti-bear strategies with his genius-tier mind prior to losing his powers (in anticipation of this exact circumstance).

Hey, you were sick this stuff happens. Hell, now I'm sick, so I know how you feel! (Seriously, I've been having random bouts of non-stop coughing for the last couple of days, it sucks. I definitely understand why you delayed the chapter if you felt like this last week, especially if you had a fever too and other symptoms, which I've avoided thus far. Just coughing, sore throats, and narrowly avoiding throwing up (forcing it back down is bad, but not as bad as vomiting onto carpet and then trying to clean it up, that stuff takes forever to clean up if it touches carpet) for me!)

Hey, I found an old WoG from 31 Consensus on Ao3.

'Aisha puts up a cynical front to the point she would never admit this, but she's basically one talking animal from living out the magical girl dream. She's got a powerful patron, hidden magical land, actual mythology connections, the promise of adventure, and a quest to save the world. There is a six year old Aisha jumping up and down in excitement that she will never acknowledge publicly.'

This is probably why Aisha was so excited about the possibility of Tybalt speaking.
