Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

I get that there's a desire for immediate results, but Joe is working to change his mind the hard way, through therapy, self-reflection, and building a positive support network. That is much harder than just going in and editing his mental hardware, but it is the kind of thing with checks to make sure that you don't end up going off the deep end, which is a major concern for Joe.
It takes time for him to heal.
for It takes time to improve
It takes time to change your mind
So a slow walk
Nearly crawl
But he will get there better than before.
I respect your choice about it and enjoy it.

I've commented on this before, but there is a very good reason that Joe had been avoiding this kind of thing. Once you change the way you think you can no longer accurately predict what your future actions will be. It is a place where the slippery slope applies since the first part of altering your mind would involve eliminating the problem you have with altering your mind. After that, you cannot predict what kinds of future changes will be made. This was the exact path that Joe was on from his original trigger, and it is the kind of thing that can lead to a very dark place.

There is a very good example of this from Empowered. Neurospear, a telepath who edited his own mind, initially as a means of coping with his powers, but eventually taking him in new and disastrous directions.

You know what? Yeah this actually makes a lot of sense. Joes understanding of meta-ethics is probably degenerated beyond even his ability to repair.

In general, he would really need a medical compartment from the constellation of reality. Having your own highly professional therapist available around the clock is always a good thing, especially for a powerful super-craftsman.

What about Calligraphy as an Unnatural Skill? Joe could start writing with supernaturally perfect runes, glyphs, and lettering. Maybe even start writing letters that convey more than what is written. Probably wouldn't translate well to typing, but could grant some skills in font choice.
Maybe that could be upgraded to unnatural skill linguistics. At the highest levels authors create languages to fit the fictional cultures of the worlds they imagine. I can see apieron creating a species and hardwiring a magical language into their instincts.

That would have some hilarious interactions with the Fallen London Correspondence. It probably wouldn't even end as badly as weaponizing neathbow colors... probably.
That makes me imagine Sight Grenades. Explosives that don't go off until somebody looks at the Correspondance glyph that is scribed on them. Maybe expand that to other Ward-type stuff?

IDK about Apeiron doing that, but it's probably possible with the forge.
Especially when you look at shit like Song Science from Ar Tonelico, though Joe doesn't get that.

Linguistics could be anything from computer code to magical scrolls and grimoires plus perhaps a double shot of enchanting and runes (glyphs and, well, runes, likely also enhances divine fairy letters) like Transmutation and Alchemy go together. I approve! Not that that means much as I am not the author...

Edit: Elven Enchanting would also be helped by this!

Unnatural Skill: Teaching or Training. This would mainly be for making learning aids but could be for making training or teaching plans and putting them into practice, it could also be used to teach/train yourself to do a skill so he would have a easier time learning skills that he could do but can't or isn't very good at like Harry Potter magic or magecraft but only if he had the knowledge or could find it. Can learn crafting skills with it and you can definitely use it to make something.

Unnatural Skill: Fortification and Siege Work. Acceleration of the design and construction of fortifications, long-term, field, space, improvised, whatever. Intuitive understanding of the principles, features of their use, and maintenance. The same applies to siege operations in a broad sense. Why would Joe do that? Why not, it is quite in the general outline of his previous acquisitions, for example, bastion, the experience of a military engineer ME, etc. In a practical sense, well, he will still have to take Coyle's base, knowing how to storm the bunker correctly will be useful in any case, in the sum of his abilities. Also, the invasion of Leviathan is on the nose. Considering even the current speed and quality of Joe's work, the ability to properly turn BB into a fucking cool fortress in a few minutes will greatly help in the battle, at least from the point of view of minimizing losses. Civilian shelters are also fortifications)

So, from comments I take it that Lord usually updates on Wednesdays, around 6 or 7 hours from now?

Regrettably, due to a work commitment I'll have to delay the next chapter. I was hoping to be able to get ahead of things and be able to keep my schedule, but, it's clear that's not going to be possible. As such, the chapter will need to be postponed. I'm sorry for the late notice and will commit to getting the chapter out next week.

As I and others have said before. You owe us nothing. We pay none of your bills. Take care of yourself first you crazy kid.
