Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

Aaand smash cut to Cauldron and PRT going absolutely bananas behind the scenes. I hope the shovel has some thinker-dampening on it or the think tanks are going to start chewing the walls trying to make any sense of this.
The justification is probably going to be pretty simple: "Weld asked to share his contract and Flechette offered her powers in a mercenary role for a future matter, so the contract for healing has been expanded to other Case 53s. As someone who helped Brockton Bay when she needed it the most, Gully was both the nearest and most obvious option to be healed first."

That'll fit their Thinker models, and with both Apeiron and Lethe threatening to move if they press the three too much on the details, nobody would be willing to test the Celestial Forge's patience, especially in the coming aftermath of the S9 getting eliminated and the Forge beginning to act outside of the city with impunity.

The best part about the whole thing is that Gully now has CF on speed-dial with really really hard to block method - a fucking shovel of all things - so PRT cant even lock her up or keep her somewhere. I am not sure she even would need to threaten them with Lethe or they would just let her go when she asks without any further questions.

That was what came to mind as well to be honest. Though honestly? Nothing was actually described off of Gully's actual looks. Only that she was tall and stunning, don't even know what hair color she has and her hairstyle, if she actually has a large bust, or even her skin tone. She could be any combination of these factors and still be really beautiful. Really wondering how she looks
Actually with reference to size and a certain kind of plastic surgery and how they dance around it. It's pretty obvious her big form is Uber thiccc

The blade of that shovel is made out of high quality refined Earth Dust.

Protectorate Tinkers are currently going mad over tiny amounts of low quality Dust.

That shovel is probably worth more than the Rig. If Gully can use it in conjunction with her powers to create Dust (in the same way that it spreads/propagates), then she could be about become the richest Ward in the USA. That on top of her new appearance.

People are going to get really confused about what Apeiron is getting out of these contracts for them to be worthwhile to him.

The sad thing is, depending if she was a buyer or a captive of Cauldron when she got her vial, it could have still been her choice that landed her as a Case 53.

Probably captive given she most likely already had a power (I'm not discounting her getting a power just as she drunk the vial), but with how Parahumans are about power I won't discount her trying to gain more power by drinking a vial.

They underestimate how useful shovels (or spade in this case) can be! They can dig, they can fell trees, they can work as a hammer, can be used as an emergency fry pan, is decent as a weapon (1d10 in blunt, slash, and blunt attacks!), and you can store Snickers in them if they are hollow!

They also crit if you land a hit during explosion-propelled jump but I am not sure Gully would make much use out of that...

Gully would look great in Mad Max Barbarian chick getup. I'm just... saying.

I want to imagine that during the whole thing Joe (pretty sure the one with Gully was a duplicate) was doing his very best to keep Garment from barging in to make an entire new wardrobe and Cape costume since she felt offended over the one she had before.

I mean, she is just if not more resistant to damage as she was before, using mines and 'nades to fly isn't out of the question! She could even take her smol form to fly farther after she is sufficiently away from the explosion!

Everybody gang-star until Gully "Market Gardener into goomba stomp"s Purity out of sky. Flying beats Earth mages my ass.

I'm far more looking at the living proof that Appie can completely and permanently correct case 53s. Cauldron will go nuts over that as it's proof he's far ahead of their own efforts, PRT because "oh god the paperwork" and the fact that the trickle of C53s coming to the bay is going to turn into a flood overnight. Both because he's absolutely outside of anyone's control.

Miss Militia also shouldn't be that surprising she's a dedicated yes man and follower without orders from above she wouldn't do anything about Dinah and probably wouldn't push for it.
I'm not sure I agree with that. This information was discovered at a Truce meeting regarding the S9 who were already in the city and had already revealed themselves. It's less that she didn't push on it and was more focused on the pending localized apolypse that the S9 tended to leave in their wake. Also, we don't see her perspective or thoughts. For all we know after that meeting, Militia was constantly thinking or trying to do something about it.

There's a reason in Worm why we mostly see Taylor's perspective on things - it's because she is not all knowing and is going to make assumptions based on what little she does know.
Gully's Shard: "Finally! My moment has come! Super sexy super amazonian super transformation acti-"

WHACK!!

Apeiron with a rolled up 6 dimensional newspaper: "Bad Shard! Bad! Tone it down!"

Gully's Shard: "You're not my daddy! You can't tell me what to do!"
I don't know why but this made me laugh multiple times. Thank you.

Regarding this, I think people are jumping ahead. Considering the pace of the story, we're likely not going to see a reaction from the PRT to this for several chapters.

I don't think Cauldron will be that beat up about him fixing C53's - if he's able to 'fix' them, and as a result they become more malleable/useful to them, Cauldron will let that slide. They might try to obtain info on 'how' he's doing it, but it's already clear that his understanding of powers far exceeds their own, even from what little he has said about powers. Especially once Armstrong reports everything that happened at the camp.

Where Cauldron will start to panic is if Gully reveals that they weren't able to fix her memory issues, yet. Implying they fully expect to be able to do so in a few weeks. That's a terrifying thing to Cauldron because it means the C53's (new C69's) might be able reveal info about Cauldron. That more than anything else is going to have them panicking.

Hell, it wouldn't surprise me if Gully's toned down explanation of powers that Apeiron gave her makes its way to Eidolon's ears, and he gets the idea of "Maybe he can fix MY powers." How many times have we seen a story where Eidolon shows up in the Bay? And it wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing considering how delicate the situation is there. The PRT would basically be saying, "Look, all you criminals trying to make things difficult for recovery - calm the fuck down, or one of our biggest sticks is going to start getting twitchy. You wouldn't like him when he's twitchy."

You made me imagine Eidolon going to Legend with a six pack and ask "How do you humble?", because he a massive ass and never had to ask after getting his powers.

Yeah, Eidolon just asking Apeiron to help with his powers would solve a massive headache (and would probably lead Joe to finding connection to Endbringers and disabling the fuckers without fight at all) but asking Eidolon to swallow his pride is like asking Alexandria to not be a bitch.

Gully has it all,~
PRT want her,
Protectorate want her,
Tecton want her,
She has spades of all.

When did the Fault Lines crew arrive?
They didn't. She's talking about herself here.
That's assuming the date doesn't cancelled though, by either her cure or the fact that Joe is about to kill the S9 in less than 24 hours before Unleashing The Healing. WoG is that the date Crystal is so excited for might end up getting disrupted for similar reasons.
Nah, her not-date with Tecton wouldn't get cancelled. She will meet Tecton either in the evening or afternoon while Slaughterhouse will meets their end tomorrow morning.

Given that precog effects drastically underestimate how proactive Joe will be in response to attack...

That will be Very Funny. I hope he steals Hat Lady's hat.
First, the S9 thing should happen any moment now, aaannyyyy moment, so that's going to fly out the window.
Second, Joe has a better hat.
:V
Why do I imagine "Ser'vanna brass dragon lady" when thinking about Gully's upcoming dinner\date with Tecton?
So am I. So am I...

And now, so is everyone on the thread:

Does anyone know what parts of this whole thing Gully can and can't share? I blame reading between breaks at work, still working, but i'm a little confused on exactly what can't be talked about.

No matter how talented Garment might be, there wasn't any outfit Gully could imagine herself in that wouldn't make her feel like an elephant that had been decorated for a festival.
I almost sad that Garment didn't get a chance to prove her wrong, but getting an amazing outfit right before it becomes unwearable would be even more disappointing. Now Gully gets the best advice about an entirely new wardrobe or two, probably filtered through Aisha's translation. She's also bound to run into Flechette and Weld while there; the latter will be very happy to see her new form(s), leaving the former time to try talking with Garment one-on-one.

I'd be suspicious about the timing if there weren't at least two perks likely to be involved.

"To my Workshop." He said, with a particular emphasis on the word.
This was a surprise. The Workshop has a few more defenses than when Aisha first infiltrated, Joe is much less insecure, and only a few areas are being shown, but to invite someone in at all is a big step.

Granted, I've been expecting him to invite Crystal in somewhere around their third date, but not someone he's essentially just met.

"Eight foot six inches." Proto Aima volunteered. "Actually eight foot six and three eighths, but that kind of precision isn't really important, especially considering your current body is just under four foot eleven."
Yeah, 8'6" is huge. As in, taller than most ceilings, where before she'd mostly have been brushing up against them. 4'11" is small, but not nearly as dramatically so; there are plenty of outfits in that size, even if they're mostly designed for young teens.

Good thing superhero work is mostly outdoors.

Once again, the most powerful and feared stranger on the planet, joking and prodding Apeiron of all people, it was so discordant it was almost enough to distract her from what was happening.
I'm still amused at how scared everyone is of the weakest member of Celestial Forge.

"Probably not consciously, but you're from the left coast, right? Land of plastic surgery?" Lethe asked.
And this "left coast" really sells how Aisha is still a teenager, despite years in the Spiritron, and has something of a spotty education.

Why do I imagine "Ser'vanna brass dragon lady" when thinking about Gully's upcoming dinner\date with Tecton?
Amusing, but I suspect that she'll want to go out in civvies for the first time in her life, because now she can.
