Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

Personally I'm more concerned that she would figure out a way to 'share' her healing and will use that as an invitation to use a bunch of venoms a lot more liberally (assuming she didn't find a way to apply temporally conceptually reinforced bug venom).

I'm way more scared that she will find a way for the nanites to regen her slower and people will have too see her slowly cronenberg herself back together as if she was The Thing, if only because giving the nanites to someone else is the one thing that Joe make sure couldn't be done IIRC.

Taylor with reusable Suicide Vest is a scary image. Like what do you even do at this point, to beat Stand Swarm you have to usually knock out its Master, but when Master is about as dangerous as the Swarm, what then?

Watch how many shitty "You are the bomb, Taylor/Khepri" puns Aisha can cram in a dialogue before Joe tell her to please stop.

I'm picturing some poor archaeologists in an Percy Jackson alt world finding ancient pottery or scripture describing Joe the Greek god of Progress. Then it stating that he doesn't visit much as he's usually busy on another Earth. If they're really unlucky it'll have scientific information on it.

Or they find a hidden button on the pottery and it unfolds into something different, like a sword, blaster, or maybe car. You know, something Joe made when he was bored and had a few idle minutes.

Is it poor archeologists though? That sounds like the find of the millennia!

Not 'giving nanites', temporary extending them to cover someone else. Personally I won't discount possibility of her somehow jailbreaking nanites, ex: find a way of applying her bugs to count as her, reinforcemeant to reinforce needed properties of bugs (moskito-syrenge) and reinforce nanites' enjectability and then just inject people with nanites using bugs as a medium.

Obviously this is unlikely, nanites are smartrer than dumb reinforcemeant and fooling them shouldn't be possible. But it's Taylor! In Escalation we trust.

Kind of amusing to me about this discussion, a few months ago someone posted, elsewhere, they'd gone through all the fights in Worm that Taylor was in, and claims that other than possibly the first Lung fight, it wasn't Taylor who started escalating.
It was more like...
Taylor, "Here's the line we shouldn't cross."
Opponent, "I'm gonna go way past that."
Taylor, "Oh, we are?"
Opponent, "...what do you mean we?"
Taylor, "Unless you've had a change of heart, let's begin the unfortunates."

Let's see what I can remember

Lung: Wanted to burn her crispy, spiders to the balls.

GG&P&Wards: She started with the spiders on the hostages, Wards shot a giant laser, GG wanted to play sock'em robots, and Panpan said she was going to make her fat. I say they were all stupid.

Barracuda: Brian bombs, got her toes chopped.

Armsmaster: He did nothing wrong. Ever.

88: Hmm, they went for the kill from the start I guess? I always blank out on what happened in that arc since it wasn't all that interesting.

Besides Golem the Goat making his debut!

Leviathan: Levi was asking for it.

S9: They are the S9.

Coil: Trapped her in a house on fire and had a shooting squad bring it down with their guns. I won't say it was escalation so much as a justified retalation (shoot to the face).

Travelers: IIRC Taylor was trying to use her non-existing talking skills to make them fight each other. Then she killed Coil. I would say the escalation was on Taylor's part sice she was their nominal ally at the time. As a result Noelle got lose and escalation from everyone started.

Tagg: Tagg may have been an ass, but let's be honest here, that was Taylor's fault.

Alexandria: On the other hand, Alexandria just HAD to Thinker it up. Result? Brain dead.

Defiant, who is totally not Armsmaster: Defiant did nothing wrong. Ever. "Stop doing things!" Is such a legendary line.

Wards shenanigans: ...I... Can't remember anything about this besides Clock telling her she kicked ass using butterflies.

Behemoth: Again, he was asking for it. Though arguably she was escalating with time bomb man?

Everything post time-skip: It was the apocalypse, she can't escalate above interdimensional global destruction, but she did bully Zion until he comitted assisted Alt+F4.

Khepri: SHe waS ThE eSCalaTioN.

As you said, it isn't like she escalated unprovoked, the problem was that she rarely is ever tried to descalate or chill after the situation was over.

I actually think that's one of the flaws of the narrative: it had barely any cool down periods in between conflicts. Which actually makes sense given that most of the story happens in like 2-3 months time 😅

Ironically what led to her murdering a god is that she let others dictate the pace and scale of conflicts.

Also I believe that it was "stop trying things".

@LordRoustabout I gotta ask. How far is the endgame of this story?
I ask because at the current pace, you are writing 1-2 in story days per year... Will you even live long enough to see this story to the end?

Honestly it probably isn't too far off as there are fewer events happening on each upcoming day plus after 3 or 4 days so the aftermath of the nine is covered which will include stuff like March and Butcher getting taken down it'll probably timeskip to levi which should get things going for wrapping everything up.

Silly question but didn't Joe get a bracelet that could turn off his powers a while back? As in completely deactivate everything and leave him as Regular Joe (plus the permanent physical appearance changes) again. It had an amusing deactivation phrase.
Anyway, did he just forget it existed? Because with the amount of time he spends complaining about not being able to even write his own name without it turning into an illuminated manuscript you'd think he'd pull it out. Maybe rebuild it to be a bit more selective?

Does not turn off crafting abilities.
Balance Bangle (Monster Hunter) Free:
A simple leather wristband depicting a Rathalos and Tathian chasing each other's tails, vaguely reminiscent of a yin-yang. Comfortable, unobtrusive, easy to remove, and can't be lost or stolen. While it is worn, all offensive and defensive supernatural skills and abilities you have acquired throughout your journey that have not been purchased from your current adventure are sealed. This does not affect passive or intrinsic skills, such as eidetic memory, intelligence or willpower boosts. Meanwhile, your physical attributes will be reduced and/or equalized to a point at the apex of your chosen species. While it is on, you may speak a programmable code word or phrase to temporarily disable the sealing effect (default phrase is 'OH SHIT!') and re-apply it at will afterwards. If you seek a challenge or simply wish to live the true Monster Hunter experience, look no further.

It would be nice if it were true. But the author consistently overstuffs the chapters with endless internal musings. Hell, I'm pretty sure over 90% of this fic is pretty much internal musings. So even if there aren't any "events" that doesn't mean the end is near. Besides you say there are fewer events happening, but there are a lot of events left:

-The confrontation with Bakuda/March/Uber & Leet
-The confrontation with the Butcher
-The confrontation with Coil
-The inevitable endbringer fight
-The inevitable confrontation with Dragon/Saint
-The inevitable confrontation with Cauldron
-The inevitable confrontation with Zion

Also "smaller" events that are not going to be so small because of the author style:
-The offer of nanites to Amy
-The offer of nanites to Taylor
-The concert with Crystal and whatever comes from it
-The meeting with Joe's father and whatever comes from it

Also probably:

-The fallout when Joe realizes that Lisa has been hiding that a little kid had been kidnapped in the whole Coil situation
-Some sort of "lets meet and put the cards on the table" with the PRT at large
-Dealing with The Empire and The Merchants
-Some sort of drama after Joe finds out who is Grue
-Some inevitable drama with Heartbreaker and Regent

Am I missing something?

So. At the current pace, I'm sorry but I don't see all of this being covered in less than 15 years
