Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

I wonder how the Sechen range works for certain capes. Some capes have powers that you can't really improve like that. Dauntless is one, does he shard temporarily make his equipment more powerful? Or does it just increase how fast he gets charges? Clockblocker's powers is random and also seems to have hard limits. Does it just last longer? Shadow Stalker's power is on or off, how do you improve that?

For Dauntless, being engaged in field work lets him get charges faster, so a Sechen range boost would presumably do the same.
See here:
He feels power moving through him and it wells up over time. Once every 20 to 30 hours he'll hit his peak, and feel distinctly uncomfortable until he can dump the charge into an object, boosting its efficacy for a short time (minutes) then leveling off at a point better than the last.
...
Charging an object is easier (and trends him closer to the 20 hour mark than the 30 hour mark) if he doesn't wait too long between charges, so he has three or four that he maintains and cycles between. It's also easier if he's engaged in field work.
For Clockblocker, this again isn't explicitly a Sechen range boost, but his power can fluctuate in "efficiency," which seems to be defined as how well the effect can spread through objects. This is brought up during the Echidna fight when Taylor gets him to freeze a gun that she connected a thread to, causing the thread to freeze as well and cut Echidna in half, as well as another connected thread immobilizing an Eidolon clone.
Scourge 19.7:
"The range? I'm surprised you knew it would work through interconnected pieces. Hell, I barely knew I'd be able to push that far. I guess that makes this one of the rare days my power's working at peak efficiency? But you somehow knew that?"

I don't think there's anything in canon about Sophia's power fluctuating, but there's a lot of little things that could be boosted, like her ability to push small objects out of whatever space she's trying to materialize into (normally this delays her transition by a split second, which is enough to throw her off when she tries to kill Skitter), or her ability to impart her shadow state onto objects (which she uses to kick a folding chair at Taylor through a wall with less than a second's use of her power), or maybe her Sechen range boost would just generally reduce the severity of her multiple weaknesses, like electricity, aerosols, stalling in large solid objects, etc.

Additionally, when I know a chapter will be considerably improved with a bit more time I feel it is worth the disruption to the schedule. I'd rather take a bit longer than put out something rushed and incomplete. Still, my apologies for the short notice on the delay.

Some of the best chapters on here came after a delay. Honestly, as is, LordRoustabout's posting schedule is amazing. Every chapter carries the feeling of being thoroughly planned out; the sheer detail and consistency is incredible. The different perspectives in the interludes and the dialogue is all gold. I wouldn't protest if they took longer to come out, and it'd give me more time to reread my favorite bits :)

I'm such a huge fan of how the ripples caused by the Celestial Forge's mere existence is turning mudane villains into horrors. That scene of Scion examining the blackout field… :D

That foreshadowed something terrible, I can feel it already.

I can't wait to see how everything with Victor turns out! What a beautiful dumpster fire. Oh man, Apeiron should be the least of the Empire 88's worries…

We're getting a new chapter already?
Whoo!
Don't view your delays as a failure of discipline, btw. We're low priority. You seem to have a life. Realspace first.
It's the other approaches that are lunacy.

Taylor at the end of the story lost 99.9% of her effect range for human mastery

Taylor turning into Khepri isn't a 2nd trigger.

It was a... power hacking. Panacea modified Taylor's Corona Pollentia (the biological portal to the shard in the brain) in an attempt to improve Taylor's power.

It's the poster child for "gone horribly right". Her power got stronger all right, but Panacea also broke the security protecting the host mind, so Taylor's personnality got quickly overwritten by her shard (the following chapters are from Khepri point of view and you quickly see her losing grasp on reality). In a way, this was the first Titan.

Very different mechanic from a 2nd trigger.

Obviously on a Doylist level "Tinker 15" came from that one Reddit post that Wildbow responded to, but from a Watsonian perspective, how does he/it factor in here? Just a malfunctioning Eden shard? Or possibly a super-messed-up second trigger?

There's also how that was done after she went to Cauldron wanting to increase her personal power so she could personally contribute to the fight against scion and when she asked found out that while they could have Contessa set up second triggers it took a lot of time and effort plus she specifically couldn't because she was a double trigger meaning she'd had her second shortly after her first and so couldn't trigger again.

Based on how they showed up in ward an actively malicious Eden shard since it was controlling the power he had which included manifesting materials that could be used in tinkering and was using it to build a giant tower that when finished would gather up the atmosphere, fire it into space and then reload from a parallel earths until there were none with atmospheres left. I think there was also something said there about how it was a last attempt at a screw you from Eden. Malfunctioning shards were shown elsewhere with the broken triggers and things like the one that connected to a dog.

When Joe goes to deal with the S9 I really hope he takes his Dragon/car with him for a spin.

How strong is the Dragon/Car anyways? I remember taking about the lava bird he created when he first got titan blood being classified as a S-class threat. I wonder how it stacks up.

I wonder if we can deduce what her original power configuration was, then, considering most of what we know from canon is second trigger modified? Based on the hallucinations and the distraction in the hospital, I think she had full sensory input but no multitasking to keep things separate.

I believe it's mentioned in a WoG somewhere. What basically happened is while she was in the locker she triggered, then it was suddenly worse because she had to sense all the bugs at once and they were of course gross. She then doubled triggers from still being in the same situation plus sensory overload of gross shit, this gives her better control basically leading to the multitasking and such.

I'm sorry, when did Joe get a dragon/car? Are you talking about the dragon that came with the rainbow jumping because I don't remember it being able to turn into a car. Or are you talking about those two things separately?

He turned into a coin that can transform. I think it also has a bike form. So it can be a bike, coin, dragon or car. It might not have a bike form and simply turn into a tiny dragon figurine.

Hey I got a question, cant Joe summon a servant? Like, whats stopping him from summoning one? That weird version of fate he knows probably showed how its done, so why not try summoning one?

The Forge doesn't have a Throne of Heroes to summon from. Although Joe could probably create a Servant Container and Command Seals. Maybe he could steal some of Glastig Uaine's 'Ghosts'.

Dekalt, the Zoid installed in the Dragon Wish, was upgraded to be able to transform into a car in chapter 81.

Yeah, I was referring To Dakalt, The Zoid Dragon, that can turn into a Dragon, Coin and Car.

Summoning a servant is supposed to be really hard. With his unnatural skill: rituals he probably could do it though. At least assuming he can access the Throne of Heroes. On some level I actually think he should be able to, just as 40K warp stuff works even though the Warp shouldn't be around. The Throne should be around at least enough to facilitate servant summoning. But it might just straight up not exist.

I wonder if he's considered attempting to reverse the Forge connections since he remembers his demi-servant constituents' time on the Throne.

It would be funny if Joe with his memories scolds them for not taking better care of their Noble Phantasms, the ones he made at least, sort of like Muramasa.
