Brockton's Celestial Forge (Worm/Jumpchain)

If Khepri didn't have Apeiron around to clean up her mess, to hold her hand so she could pretend to be predator instead of prey, who knows what would have happened to the city? The prospect of the ABB as the dominant gang in a city ruled by Lung wasn't one she wanted to think about.

The sheer irony and audacity of Emma saying this fuels my rage more than I can express seeing as Emma's only claim to strength is through her friendship with Sophia.

I'd almost be able to feel sorry for Emma and her desperate need for a truly epic reality check if she wasn't doing her absolute level best to be the stupidest person in every room while pretending she's the smartest because that is some deep personal denial of guilt and reality in general there.

I mean everyone in Worm is a broken person but you can't even blame a shard here. It's all 100% home grown petty human denial and cruelty shaped by circumstance and hardened by habit. Yikes.

Though the threads of Emma and Sophie's undoing are slowly tightening all through this interlude. Emma is jealous of Khepri and her supermodel body (which is hilarious in a very ironic and depressing way) and the youth guard are poking around Sophie. Water's about to get real hot for the both of them I think.

I find it rather funny that Sophia is completely correct that Apeiron is responsible for the strength of his team, and extremely incorrect when applying that same logic to Khepri.

"Not a chance." She replied quickly. "It could have been trouble right after the bank, but with everything else that's been happening that woman has too much to worry about." Sophia saw Emma's expression and moved to reassure her. "I'm serious. She's spent more time riding Vista over her time sheets than looking into anything for me, and Piggot's got too much on her plate to bother with nonsense from months ago."
Wow Sophia, Emma so brave of you to stand right underneath that other shoe.
I'm so very hopeful that it doesn't drop for any reason whatsoever.
I'll just stand here at a minimum safe distance and wait just in case.

Oh my god, that is so ripe for abuse.
No no, you see, the particular program that sends out the alert runs on a tinkertech computer, by itself - Aisha could cycle her power every nanosecond, and the thing wouldn't be nearly taxed.

Now it's just an issue of MEGA SPAM!! from such cycling.
"What is this spam? Why is this spam?"

I didn't think they were even aware, every time, when Aisha's power was active (since they all would forget about her). They just send out alerts -when they realize- she exists and her power is active, which might be like, one in every ten activations.

Taylor is... unlikely to do this, since she likes to keep a low profile. Without Tattletale interference she'd show up everywhere in public wearing jeans and a hoodie and worn down sneakers.

But she had a closet full of perfectly tailored clothes that probably accentuate her lithe build in exactly the way that triggers Emma about Khepri.

So it would be delicious to have Taylor feeling confident and dressing up be what sets her off, and results in a perfect take of bullying Public Freakout footage perfectly cut and edited to make her look her worst.

Taking Sophia down with her being a bonus.

I've seen some stories that do a truly amazing redemption for Emma/Sophie/Madison/some combo of the three.

I hope this story isn't one of them, I want to see Emma catch a face full of headbutt when she starts acting up at the event.

Plus, with phone signals being wonky and Taylor being able to fly track people she would have the upper hand on tactical placement for the freakout

They have a handful of immune capes mentioned in TT's last interlude, they probably have them working in shifts monitering for the effect by asking if normies remeber lethe every 3 seconds.

Sophia trying to make Flechette uncomfortable, but just coming across as low key super supportive of her choice in girls.

Weld being like 'I'm made of metal and most sensations I experience are muted or nonexistent, and even my Gaydar works better than yours smh'.

Finally, everyone being like 'Boohoo Khepri is only a big deal because of Apeiron raining money and treasure on her' or 'femme Fatale Khepri has some leverage over Apeiron what could it be'.

Meanwhile Taylor is just trying to figure out the most economical way to fit a million spiders into a bag of holding, without making it seem like she likes the gift too obviously, and Joe is worried that she'll find some way to weaponize the clothes used as packing peanuts the minute he take his Divinely Enhanced senses off her.

Survey is cataloging everyone's individualized, wildly incorrect and biased experiences down to the nanosecond.

Taylor would probably wear the new clothes and think all the attention is from the clothes and not her body. She is a depressed woman.

We got Perian petty and now Emma Petty. The hate train has no breaks!

Also these interludes are so good! The reason I keep coming back to this.
