Eh, apples and oranges. They're both different kinds of reprehensible and I really don't give Yui much morality credit given how she seems to have no trouble ending the world. She could have mangled those MP Evas... but no. Maybe you should go check out/re-check out Shinji's crazed screaming from the instrumentality sequence and then tell me Yui's even remotely a good person.

His father is not only invested in the plan, or some version of it, but could do things to him or his loved ones for Knowing Too Much. Any conversation he has with his mother is quite secret.
And Shinji may still be Shinji, but he's gotten a bit more backbone to him from his experiences. He's at least got a notochord.

Girlfriend of Steel. Rei is literally fishing for one of the T-RIDEN-Ts. Why they have an EVA-sized fishing line and basket (on standby for just such occassions) I have no idea. And they miss the most essential point of fishing, using a bait. That's what the JSSDF does, later :/ (the bait is Mana. In a cage.)
That's a very good point. Yui doesn't seem to care, or at most only that Shinji survives (hence her taking over against Sachiel, Leliel, Zeruel). See also her rejection of the dummy plug, which basically forces Shinji to go back to piloting.

Yup, from what I remember GoS was a bit lighter in places than the actual canon was. Most of the side things tend to be.
Which reminds me I need to play it again sometime, and GoS2.

Yeah it's more of an additional side story, similar to Second Impression really. Although I don't think SI has ever been translated into English so I never see that one mentioned too much. Neither are really 'proper canon' and just little side stories they did I guess. It's cool when people use the characters and try to tie them into fics though, I see Mana used a fair amount, never see much of Mayumi though.

Yeah, I've had it for a while just not sat down and got around to playing it. I remember it being a bit of a hassle to set up but nothing awful.
If I had the artistic ability I'd love to try to make a fan made Visual Novel for Eva, unfortunately I don't.

First time we see Ritsuko, she's in a swimsuit. I assumed the boat was to get her around Terminal Dogma to the specific place she needed to dive down.
Could be worse. I once tried to imagine what would happen if you crossed over Evangelion and Homestuck.
But of course that was still mid-comic. Looking back on it now, I realize that the survival rate would probably be atrocious. Could dip well into the negative percentages.
The sunglasses would still be useful, though.
